Nice part I think all of us want the looks with more comfort with the rubber.

They look great but those dimples are gonna collect lots of dirt and mud, especially on the footpegs and shifter. Not for me thanks.

Always nice to see more new Kraton grips/pegs. That stuff (Kraton) stays soft, sticky, long wearing whether it’s wet or dry.

The black rubber set is beautiful. I heard some guy gripe about paying $36 a pair – big deal! They are nice…..besides, how much do all the other parts cost that we have to buy from time to time? $36 bad for comfort, quality, and looks? give me a break – oh yeah, there’s always the OTHER STUFF you can get from China.

  7. 7 You're kidding right? Sep 13th, 2010 at 10:58 am

Miami Chopper Shop…Ness is notorious for Chinese crap. Why do you think he’s recently been trying to bring it all back to the USA?
These are PLASTIC grips with billet end caps. They’re $60 on his website, not $36, and if you’re referring to Kuryakyn…it’s about the same quality.

The grips are okay looking, but yes, those and the pegs are gonna pool up with dirt and grime.
Still…don’t be fooled into thinking these are a billet grip…I’d bet those end caps and collars are stamped and not even machined. Essentially…they’re chinese as well and if you had seen stuff from China lately….you’d know that their quality is AS good as ours on a lot of product…sad but true.

Not slamming Arlen’s goods at all…there’s some good quality stuff out there, but please…these are the cheapest of the cheap from him.

You’re kidding. They are not plastic! They are in Kraton rubber. You lie. Probably coming from a bitter and jealous competitor.

Hey Johny, sorta, but not from the tree and you maybe might stay clear from polymer solvents for cleaners. But hey they don’t burn your hands in triple digit temps.

Interesting comments above….but Ness is famous for good products and this looks good too….lets see how they shape up in future.

  11. 11 You're kidding right? Sep 14th, 2010 at 11:45 pm

Uh Johnny…whatever you want to call it, it’s not billet…point Grayhawk made is what I’m getting at…the integrity of the part is questionable.
I’m not a competitor, but I am a machinist by trade and love to see the quality of product that people get away with sometimes.
Yes, Ness is “famous”…so are the Teutels. Just saying, it is a known fact that there was a lot of chinese cast crap that Ness was selling…you could buy a Ness billet cable clamp, or a cast aluminum one for $15 less. That’s the kind of crap that causes all the little guys to have a rough time of things.
Sorry…just calling it as I see it. Want to pay for the quality…buy the new billet from Ness, Battistini, RSD…and you’ll pay the price, otherwise you get what you pay for.

My point was not a knock on Ness, “Arlen has contributed enormously to this industry”, Like many he captures a higher margin from time to time, nor the material just noting what the material was and wasn’t in my opinion.

One cannot function in todays world without polymers/hydrocarbon based products, it everywhere in everything from some of the clothes you wear to the dash in your car, oil is not just for fuel, its by-products are everywhere, I am partial to iron and steel, especially old iron. Do not like to be confused by commercial presentation; same with Billet or should I say the less profitable marketing term I used to call bar stock ; in other words its rubber or not.
