Hybrid Electric Chopper Concept Motorcycle

Be ready for an avalanche of proposals and concepts motorcycles claiming to resolve what some are claiming is the number one priority on our planet ! Here is one of them with explanations by it’s “inventor” that I let you debate.

He explains that “The rear wheel has permanent magnets embedded in it. The wheel is then attached to a large ball bearing ring similar to that of a skateboard but much larger and much stronger. The outer part of the ring is attached to the swing arm. The other side of the swing arm supports the wires that the direct current passes through. That causes the wheel with the magnets to spin in the direction of the current. In theory this propulsion method should be very efficient if you can control the amount of current going through the wires and assuming you have a great battery pack.” There is also a mini gas generator that charges the batteries but only turns itself on at low speeds.

Whatever happened to building a concept bike? I am growing tired of seeing cartoon motorcycle concepts. Anyone can draw a bike, so how about showing the world the concept in reality.
I tell ya, CAD and other 3D rendering programs certainly have their place, but a lot of these keybord/mouse jockeys just suck at creating… well, anything.
Here’s a concept, actually leave the keyboard and get some tools in your hand and make something.

I belive that is an amazing idea, (widouth pretencious, i already thing the same, but don´t have the knowlege to buil´it). Also agree that use the handes and imagination is very good, but this new tools Cad etc. have lots of advantages, the tratidional tools are very special no questions about that, also the great tecnologies advences, and maybe new hope to the human people.

The last electric CAD bike featured here had a Lithium air battery that has even yet to see a single non CAD battery prototype function, never mind space for the electronics to control the 140 odd KW motors.

Most of these CAD bike concepts strike me as design projects for high school kids. They just don’t seem to have any real world knowledge to know if their ideas are actually feasible with current (pun intended) technology.

Why I like Mark van der Kwaak’s CAD bikes, it doesn’t use fantasy engineering, AKA complete bullshit.

CAD isn’t a replacement for a slide rule.

I’ll bet these guys believe that the Roadrunner Cartoons were actually a reality show?????

Think of all the cargo you could carry in the space where the gas engine used to be!

This “avalanche” is definitely for “the nicest people” – don’t think it’ll do much for scooter folk, though……well, maybe not……..they’re probably a blast at a party or something.
