V-Twin Expo. Beringer Brakes To Launch 2 New Parts.

The US Division of French manufacturer Beringer Brakes will participate to the Cincinnati V-twin Expo (Feb. 5-7) to present its new 2011 products.  Here is a preview of two of them.  First,  new hand controls with a 3-button switch system being integrated into the master cylinder for a cleaner look. Available for both brake and clutch sides, without or without provision to install a mirror. Second, Beringer will introduce an interesting Inboard Braking System integrated into the wheel hub. It will be available in 3 widths, for front and rear applications. Beringer offers a complete line of brakes, calipers, rotors, levers and master cylinders for American and metric bikes. I would wonder about deformation of geometry as the brakes heat up during curvy road conditions or when in the desert heat.

Do you have a an issue with hub diameter changes as the rotor heats up? do the bearing packs lose grease/ lubricant as the hub heats up?

Maybe put together a dual braking system with rim based rotors with hub based. sort of overkill but just thinking.

    be well

Guys, the Beringer Inboard braking system is only made for spoke wheels at this time, for 40 spoke rims. But there is talk to also produce hubs for 36 spoke apps.
This system works very well in dual disc configuration in SuperMoto racing, on 240Lbs bikes.
It will also slow down a custom V-Twin quite nicely. It is being used in enduro racing in Europe in single disc/caliper configuration with great success. The disc is not prone to bending during crashes or contacts with rock and trees like standard MX/Enduro brakes.
It is evidently not a MotoGP set up and is not recommended for road racing, except perhaps in Mini Moto on CRF150s for instance.
This products has seen over two years of intensive testing and not reports of bearing failures or hub expansion have been reported. But again, this is not for road racing Gixxers. for info you can also call Philippe Danh on the west coast at 310-370-9856. He’s been dealing with Beringer Brakes since 1997 and knows them quite well.

    1) The inside spacer of the inboard is available in 3 sizes: 2’’, 3” and 4’’

    2) It’s possible to fit the switches on our clutch master cylinder or our clutch cable lever.

3/ Dragon Choppers (French builder from Vacqueyras-south of France) makes the grip (several designs or colors available to compose your grip)

4/ We have the parts in stock, the US price for the switches is $462.00 USD. For the moment, the Inboard system is only for professional builders and available only for special order.

Last comment sucks… I have been building bikes for almost 20 years. I got a CB200 with a springer front end. This hub brake seems was made for. Guess I will have to wait.
