Custom Harley V-Rod Muscle Appears in Green Hornet Movie

A custom Harley-Davidson Muscle V-Rod is appearing along many unusual weapons in the just released movie Green Hornet, and I hope that thisHarley paid product placement will help move a few more  bikes out of the dealerships.

The Green Hornet (Seth Rogen) is a masked vigilante who fights crime with the help of martial arts expert and faithful sidekick Kato (Jay Chou) who rides this V-Rod. The bike is customized with Destroyer wheels, rear-set foot controls, and as you can see on this picture, a one-off LED headlamp.

Based on the American masked vigilante hero created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker the Green Hornet has maintained his popularity through radio plays in the 30s, film serials in the 40s, a network television program in the 60s and comic books over several decades

Quick question – Did H-D pay these guys for product placement?

According to Bourgets Bike Works Website, Stallone purchased/picked 10 of their bikes to be used in his Latest movie The Expendables. According to them he hand picked 10 bikes from Bourget’s Bike Works and paid or leased them himself.

So what’s to say the maker of this movie didn’t pay for the bike because they wanted it? Lots of Movie makers have a passion for bikes and specific brands and they work them into the scripts one way or another.

Anyhow I would love to see proof they did a product placement deal. Note, I have no problem that a company pays a movie maker to place their products within the movie.

    Anyhow, just wondering.

I had a friend once [dead now] in the movie industry that was in charge of getting new Harleys from a dealership [about 10 of ’em] for a film called “Masters of Menace” [or something like that]. It had John Candy, Dan Akroid, and others in it to name a few. Anybody see it? Anywho, the dealership thought their bikes would just be sitting around in the background, same with a Becks Beer truck. The director used these brand new Harlets with no miles on ’em for burnouts, jail breaks, high speed chases, and generally abused the crap out of them, trashed them new motors pretty bad. They were smokin’ an’ leakin’ when he broght them back and the dealership went ballistic! He said “Talk to the producers, I’m just the truck driver!” Also the beer truck got smashed running through a road block anf then set on Fire! It was also full of beer when he picked it up, but it wasn’t when he returned it all busted up an’ toasted! He had alot of fun doin’ that flick! YUK-YUK!! Wiz

I have worked with a Producer in Miami on ,more then 1 occassion. Whenever he makes (Produces)a Movie in Town and I have supplied Marine Products, believe me, If they need them they pay, sometimes they Lease, but either way they pay. Trust me WIZ if they Fuck the stuff up, no matter how much it costs……They Eat It I will bet you that the Person that supplied the V-Rod got paid. I will probably guessthat HD didn’t even know that the Movie was looking for a V-Rod unless the Dealer that supplied the V-Rod mentioned it to His Rep. It is probably more realistic that the Production Company had no Idea what Bike it was going to use till about 2 weeks before the Shooting !!!!!!
