Exclusive. Discovery Channel 3-Way Biker Build-Off Between Jesse James, Paul Sr. And Paul Jr.

You read it here first long before it becomes official. Fans of Jesse James, of Paul Teutul Senior & Paul Teutul Junior (usually not the same…) you can rejoice.

This summer on The Discovery Channel (programmation dates to be announced), a 3-way Biker Build-Off series in which the builders will be pitting their teams and expertise against each other to see who is the best Custom Builder. Nielsen Ratings are going to explode. The winner is custom building… (to follow…)

Wow. Great News. How many episodes it’s gonna be? The industry needed something like that. I will watch. Thanks, Cyril.

  2. 2 john reed May 15th, 2011 at 11:46 am

It would be more interesting if they did it WITHOUT their teams

  3. 3 2Low May 15th, 2011 at 11:47 am

Jesse won already. But will watch, too.

  4. 4 Hamilton May 15th, 2011 at 11:50 am

The concept was suggested by readers a long time ago when father & son were under the same roof. Glad the show is booked by the Discovery Channel. 3 builders competing is better than 2. Lot of fun.

  5. 5 OG May 15th, 2011 at 11:58 am

I wish JJ would stick to his roots and quit appealing to the media whores.

  6. 6 Jason May 15th, 2011 at 12:10 pm

HAha…what a joke! Jesse=winning… Paul or Paulie arent “builders” they are “assemblers”.

  7. 7 Jeff Nicklus May 15th, 2011 at 12:27 pm

I hate that JJ has stepped down to the level of these “Soap Opera/Circus” clowns.

Hopefully “P. T Barnum & Son” will be forced to actually build their own bikes themselves and not simply “Instruct” their computer/labor flunkies on what they expect the bike to look like, naturally instructions will be given while holding a drinking cup in their hands and chewing some item with their mouths open. If P.T. & P.T. Jr. actually do build the bikes themselves, JJ will have the only bike finished on time and will kick their asses at the final judging.

In any case the show will be a shot in the arm for the industry, what there is left of an industry anyway!

    Over & Out,

  8. 8 miler May 15th, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Agree with the others, if they are actually going to be required to BUILD a bike, Jesse rides away with the win.

  9. 9 Eric Maurer May 15th, 2011 at 1:27 pm

the ratings will be through the roof. I wonder if this is the precursor to Jesse’s new reality show. Everything happens for a reason and of course… I will watch, I love all kinds of train wrecks :)

This reminds me of when Muhammad Ali “fought” that wrester. This may be motorcycle TV’s Jump the Shark episode (Google it).

Paul Jr. won the Rat’s Hole in Daytona what seven or eight years ago, back when it was sparsely entered, lightly attended, and free. It was a unique bike at the time, but that is all they have really done. They were in the right place with the right freak show at the right time, and the rest is TV history. James is the real deal when it comes to custom bikes, although he climbed on that media circus too when the dollars came calling. The sad thing is that there are so many talented builders out there that they could have featured. The original biker build-off was a good show when it showcased a lot of different talent. I would rather see another season of that show.

Hey Jeff is Jesse really “stepping down”? I mean isn’t his life a “Soap Opera/Circus” the last couple years? And he has asked for it with the Tell All Book, cheating, closing down his shop, etc, etc, etc.

  14. 14 sean May 15th, 2011 at 3:14 pm

I will watch it if its about building not about drama. I like pjd I think he is just a victim of an asshole father. Jesse is a true craftsman.

  15. 15 1550tc May 15th, 2011 at 3:16 pm

I hate that JJ has stepped down to the level of these “Soap Opera/Circus” clowns

Jeff i thought the same…….its basically one builder against a Ted’s Cycle parts builder and a how much shit can i put on a theme bike builder

should make for good tv and JJ will be kinda like a WWE referee lol

Jeff, JJ’s will be the one whose bike will start!

Someone dig Hugh King up so he can announce the winner! I can hear it now ….. “AND THE WINNER IS, BY THE SLIMMEST OF MARGINS, …………… WAIT A MINUTE …. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN BUILD-OFF HISTORY WE HAVE A THREE WAY TIE!! OH NO, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!”

Should this happen …. P.T. Sr. would sue EVERYONE, P.T. Jr. would whine and Vinnie would be forced to rub his shoulders, Mikey would have to check back into rehab and JJ would laugh all the way to the bank! Now that is good friggin’ TV!

    Over & Out,

  18. 18 Luis May 15th, 2011 at 3:45 pm

I’d love to see Russ Mitchell stomp them all!

  19. 19 Derek Chanzes May 15th, 2011 at 3:47 pm

It will be like when Hulk Hogan fought Ric Flair past their primes. When they should have wrestled 10 years earlier! LOL

  20. 20 Shifter May 15th, 2011 at 3:49 pm

Take Cyril as a judge, so we can comment here and fire him if he picks the wrong winner. Ha, ha.

  21. 21 Ronnie May 15th, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Will they take bets on this in Las Vegas?

  22. 22 NickD May 15th, 2011 at 4:09 pm

Dr. Joyce Brothers goes up against Dr. Phil. Only thing is they both suck!

  23. 23 Jim May 15th, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Im sorry but these guys are far from being the only great bike builders. There are way too many other builders out there that deserve to be in these competition. TV companies just want to play off the drama that is going on in these guys lives to their advantage instead of their bike building abilities.

Don’t get me wrong they are all great builders but there are just too many other builders out there that could beat these guys very easily. The bikes these guys build have not won any major shows in a very long time so it just shows that the TV companies just do not want to do it for the bike building. Its all about drama

  24. 24 Manhattan Choppers May 15th, 2011 at 4:14 pm

Chica,Hotch,JJ,Keino,Lane (soon).. My dream team.. It’s like d wade and lebron, all good..

  25. 25 Back Alley May 15th, 2011 at 4:26 pm

It’s really sad that the industry hangs it’s shot in the arm on the “any press is good press”.

I’d rather see Paul Cox, Rick, and Vinny. Vin had his own shop after leaving the OCC ornament shop, last I knew his website was still up. Rick unleashed from the Sr influence would build some excellent bikes, and we all know what Paul C. is capable of.

Hotch and Goldhammer are good choices, but from the bikes I’ve seen them turn out without time restraints, it’s pure injustice to their engineering genius to have them churn out a bike under a film schedule.

The fact that they are all “known” by the public and have the previous media exposure not to turn into puppet posers during filming could be the catalyst for a new rise.

  26. 26 bigitch May 15th, 2011 at 4:36 pm

many feel jj is “stepping down”.

but many of you will dumby down and watch the show

  27. 27 Cantrell May 15th, 2011 at 4:38 pm

    No TV. No Loss!

  28. 28 Scott R May 15th, 2011 at 5:03 pm

Yawn… My give a damn is busted, oh well, american idol here i come!

  29. 29 DJ May 15th, 2011 at 5:16 pm

Maybe this is what we need to kickstart the “craze” again. JJ is what really got the whole thing rolling in the first place when Discovery channel made motorcycle mania 1. It is like it has come full circle. I hate what the market and the life have become due to the Discovery Channel and the following of rubs and yuppies they have.. But lets face it.. We are all hanging on to our passion by a thread right now. It is being regulated and legislated to extinction and Al Gore will have everyone on a 36 volt battery with wheels before you know it

  30. 30 Jason May 15th, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Mike Stocker, a real & true bike builder from411 Dayton OH. RESPECT!

  31. 31 Jason May 15th, 2011 at 5:30 pm

If you didn’t build it then it will never be yours.

  32. 32 Jason May 15th, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I hope James builds a short chop.

  33. 33 Jason May 15th, 2011 at 5:34 pm

    In the wind~~~

  34. 34 jim bullard May 15th, 2011 at 5:54 pm

jesse has had his 15 mins.what about all the young talented builders out there why not give them a shot? i dont see billy lane getting another chance dont get me twisted what he did was awful but he paid a price what has jesse paid ?he closes up his shop moves to texas hoping to get his wife back then writes a book lets be honest if his name was jesse jones he would have been long forgotten is this really the best discovery can do? is this really the guy we want kids to look up to?

  35. 35 Doodah May 15th, 2011 at 6:14 pm

Now lets all tune into a real show off!! Jesse James VS Bill Dodge of blings cylces. If you want ratings that would be the way to hit the nail on the head!!!!!!!!

  36. 36 Dave Blevins May 15th, 2011 at 7:02 pm

I will watch if the losers are forced to battle to the death with pitchforks.
    That would be quality TV.

  37. 37 Ole May 15th, 2011 at 8:03 pm

Jesse could pop a rod in his sleep and smoke those guys.

  38. 38 Vision May 15th, 2011 at 8:04 pm

This would have been a lot funner to watch in 2007.

  39. 39 DOZER May 15th, 2011 at 8:08 pm

at least Snap-on won’t have to sponsor it….you already have 3 of the biggest tools in the industry involved.

  40. 40 dannyb May 15th, 2011 at 8:17 pm

they should get one young upcoming unamed hotshot to compete, and although he would probably “lose” he would probably build the sickest bike.

  41. 41 JOSEPH MONSON May 15th, 2011 at 8:17 pm

  42. 42 666 May 15th, 2011 at 8:34 pm

  43. 43 Steve May 15th, 2011 at 8:35 pm

    Who really cares?

  44. 44 CB May 15th, 2011 at 8:37 pm

I think I just threw up in my mouth…

  45. 45 Mike Phillips May 15th, 2011 at 9:20 pm

Jesse has taste. The Teutels have no sense of style or taste.

  46. 46 Tex_Bagger May 15th, 2011 at 9:42 pm

Only one question, now that Jesse has closed his shop, how can he be competitive? Is he gonna borrow somebody’s shop? LOL. JJ is da man!

  47. 47 bird dog May 15th, 2011 at 9:44 pm

you want to know what I think? I think all these guy got lost in the big money world and forgot what they are realy all about. just bilding a bad ass bike.bird dog

  48. 48 Keith Stone May 15th, 2011 at 10:32 pm

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa – NO

Ten years ago JJ was the ‘man’…… But now getting in bed with these two bozo’s makes him look like a puppet. What do I know, maybe he got a fat ass check? I’ve met the OCC guys several times at industry parties. Nice guys, I’m referencing there bike building skills.

On another note, I was just commenting to someone that JJ was the only “famous” bike builder that never did biker build off. Ive always given him more credit for not being on the show. Ha-ha-ha. I guess I spoke just a few days too early. Lol

I agree with the other guys, why are people wanting builders that have been on TV before. Those guys have a ‘name’ and are probably still doing OK in there business. I would be much MORE interested in a new show with NEW talent. There are a ton of AWESOME fabricators / engineers that would throw down some sick projects if given the chance. Even myself being featured on the Easyrider Tour didn’t do anything for my business, it’s really only TV that takes great fab guys too the next level. Let’s get some new blood out there.

O’ well on the new three-some. This is a three-some I don’t want any part of. Peace out !

  49. 49 jatinder pal May 15th, 2011 at 11:48 pm

I am betting on Paul jr…..

  50. 50 Lucky13 May 16th, 2011 at 1:13 am

The man who created “Radial Hell” vs. the Drama Queens of American Chopper. Hmmm, this is going to be close. This should be the rules one man, one gaurge, one month, and a fifteen grand budget. That would make it intresting.

  51. 51 Grimm May 16th, 2011 at 3:39 am

Here’s what I think the rules should be if this is going to happen. No wide tire bikes (Widest allowed should be 150),no gimmicky themes, and all team captains(Jesse,Paul Sr. and Paul Jr.) need to to the metal shaping themselves i.e. tanks, fenders, exhaust and handlebars, frames. Only thing they could have help on team wise is wiring and plumbing. Jesse automatically wins by default. There’s only one true fabricator in that group, and it’s Jesse.

  52. 52 Grimm May 16th, 2011 at 3:44 am

@Boss: Jesse isn’t racist buddy. If you know him,you know that he hangs out with everyone regardless of race. The picture of him in the SS Waffen cap was a joke, and the picture was published out of context. I’ve worn one of those same exact caps,as a joke, and I’m far from racist. I’m white, and married to a beautiful Hispanic woman, and my brother is half Mexican. Get your head out of the tabloids and stop believeing everything you see on the internet. I know Jesse, and yeah,he screwed up with Sandy, but that’s his life, not yours. Bet you cheated on a gal or two in your time. When it comes down to straight out skill,Jesse builds everything from bikes to old hotrods and customs,to lowriders.

  53. 53 Grimm May 16th, 2011 at 3:46 am

@jatinder pal: Hope you’re willing to lose money then. Paul Jr. already proved he doesn’t do anything on his own when he was busted for plagiarism for releasing a shirt for his shop with a picture of another companies custom bike on it,then claimed he had no idea because the guy he hired to design it never told him where the design came from.

  54. 54 Grimm May 16th, 2011 at 4:07 am

@Tex_Bagger: He owns a shop in Texas called Austin Speed Shop. Look it up.

@Jim Bullard: He moved to Texas to get away from the B.S.,he’s not trying to get his wife back(They are divorced and he’s engaged to Kathy Drachenberg (Kat Von D). As for what price has Jesse paid? You’re showing what price he’s paying with the way your trashing him, which everyone did after the whole Sandra Bullock/Michelle McGee BS. He screwed up and cheated. American statistics show many men do,the only difference between Jesse and them is he is in the public eye. I know Jesse, have talked to him,and seriously,he’s a cool guy that’s down to earth and got caught up in the Hollywood lifestyle. He screwed up,and got a reality check, and now he’s trying to straighten his life out. Sandra Bullock got over it and moved on,too bad all her drama queen fans can’t do the same.

  55. 55 Todd8080 May 16th, 2011 at 5:09 am

Damn, I knew there was a reason I’m not famous like James and the Teutuls — I don’t have a “team” to do all the work.

  56. 56 Wiz May 16th, 2011 at 6:33 am

I probably won’t make a point to WATCH it. I’m too busy out in the shop BUILDING BIKES!!! Wiz

  57. 57 Heavy Metal May 16th, 2011 at 6:40 am

Since the players have been picked I think it should be started out with a pile of raw tubing, sheet stock. Keep the exotic tools away and see what the builders come up with. We have seen plenty of episodes of Paul sr. and Paul jr. picking up the phone and ordering nice custom made parts from talented fabricators. I don’t ever recall seeing either Teutel picking up a bossing mallet and beating metal into submission. Paul sr. may be business smart but he has dumb hands. We all know Jesse is the real craftsman in this debacle but I’m sure the producers will make a circus out of the whole thing. I just hope between stupid camera shots that we will see Jesse in the shop working with his hands. Sure beats the tell all book.

  58. 58 Greg May 16th, 2011 at 6:42 am

Oh great another dance off from the prom queens.

  59. 59 atrain May 16th, 2011 at 6:54 am

sounds like a lot of fun!…..i don’t know why people are so passionate about this subject,if you are a builder kudos to you,if you think the teutals wrk sucks thats cool too,it should not reflect on you or make you angry, lol!……just enjoy the fun, thats what its a bout….its not rocket science, grow up people.

  60. 60 Mike Infanzon May 16th, 2011 at 6:54 am

    @dozer- lmao.

  61. 61 fausto May 16th, 2011 at 7:10 am

Should be more entertaining than most of the shows available on TV. It seems like the more channels and shows you add the less you actually want to see.

It seems quantity has become more important than quality.

  62. 62 Marc Mazerolle May 16th, 2011 at 7:50 am

A real world competition is what we need!!!! Baas, Jones and Maltsberger!!! There’s a real builder competition, what wrong with you Discovery!! I want to see that!!!

  63. 63 Lapper May 16th, 2011 at 7:59 am

the ole man should take a hike, he cant build s–t. the employees do all the work. JJ is the only real bike fabricator of the 3 and his time has passed. time to move on discovery channel, ur discoveries of late become quite lame. theres other real talent out there to be found…just sayin’.

  64. 64 chopmonster66 May 16th, 2011 at 8:00 am

hope jesse ,woops there butts !!!!!

  65. 65 59PAN May 16th, 2011 at 8:18 am

I hope they have to do all the work themselves ! No matter what Jesse did in his personal life….thats his own thing ! But he is a true Bike Guy and can make his own tanks, fenders, welding, etc, Those other 2 BOZOS ARE A jOKE, MADE FOR TV FOOLS ! and all you bigger fools that watched them get rich are to blame !

  66. 66 Jeff May 16th, 2011 at 8:25 am

Too many clowns not enough circuses

  67. 67 doug Wozney May 16th, 2011 at 8:27 am

Make ’em ride the things when completed. Have a test of comfort, durability and Performance. Real builders create bikes with all those attributes.

  68. 68 Doc Robinson May 16th, 2011 at 8:29 am

In a country that supports the world’s worst television (Jerry Springer et al) why would you be surprised at the television (fake entertainment) execs choice of builders? Interesting too, is the number of responses the Teutuls or Jesse always create when featured on this blog. Bet most of you will watch even while denying that you do so. This series will be great for the industry, great for inspiring young guys to get into motorcycling. What’s not to like?

  69. 69 Dan Schmidt May 16th, 2011 at 8:40 am

Look at the number of comments on this article and the number of comments on the article just above (Black Vincent). Doesn’t this tell you the type of society we live in? Showbiz winning against talent & hard work. Cyril has more difficulties promoting a true builder than promoting entertainment. So sad.

  71. 71 Knucklehead May 16th, 2011 at 9:09 am

    2Low-down, Shut up. It’s a good thing.

  72. 72 1 bad ass pc biker May 16th, 2011 at 9:22 am

Discovery should have a internet biker build off….. You don’t need skills just a big mouth run off and a computer screen to hide behind.
Get on your computer and ride, ride like the wind you guys. Oh ya doug wozney you preach it baby. Thats right real bikers like yourself. Not only should it have comfort, it should be practical too, you know like a i Pod, built in cell phone, a big wrap around windscreen with UV protection.
Oh my look at the time I need to get to the office, later fellow internet bikers.

  73. 73 tom altman May 16th, 2011 at 9:23 am

They need to create a biker show ala Iron Chef for bike building. That would be cool…people could take on the legends.

  74. 74 doug Wozney May 16th, 2011 at 9:34 am

1 bad ass pc biker – What kind of person doesn’t use their name when making a comment? No one with any clout. Always gives me a good belly laugh seeing comments from people who hide behind a handle.

    Tom Altman – Excellent idea!

  75. 75 1550tc May 16th, 2011 at 9:51 am

Make ‘em ride the things when completed…….

I’ll be happy to see them actually start their bikes!

  76. 76 yeah_right May 16th, 2011 at 10:07 am

how ’bout dropping Sr. and getting Don Hotop in there!

  77. 77 Axleplate May 16th, 2011 at 10:14 am

This is the best joke of the week you’ve posted yet . smokem jj .

  78. 78 JK May 16th, 2011 at 10:15 am

At least Paul SR and JR will have Jesse on speed dial so Jesse can build there frames for them.

  79. 79 johnny May 16th, 2011 at 10:26 am

why not bring the ratings up with bringing back trotta (two time winner) hottch, mitchell and hell see if you can have lane build from the inside …why waste your time on the occ boys they’re way over done…………..

  80. 80 Jo mama May 16th, 2011 at 10:28 am

JJ has nothing to prove so I hope he’s doing it for a big fat check and thats it!!!!!!!!!!

  81. 81 JK May 16th, 2011 at 10:49 am

If Sr and Jr don’t get someone to sponsor their builds, it will be a one horse race, well its already a one horse race. But you all know we all will be watching.

  82. 82 just my opinion May 16th, 2011 at 10:54 am

It is TV people and because of that small fact this show will have very little to do with talent or creativity. But the good news is they “all three” will make a fat check and get a boost is their own popularity. It will not matter who wins. They all have won just by getting this show. And the fact that we all took the time to comment on it proves it will be a success.

  83. 83 Abnormal May 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am

I hear everybody talking all kinds of trash about everything and most dont know what they are talking about.
Just like one guy said JJ started the chopper revolution…. well your wrong…. Choppers Unlimited was the first buisness that brought choppers back to the main stream and they started in Mexico.
I have met all 3 people mentioned above and I could say good things and bad about all 3, the fact is they all rode the coat tails of the chopper craze just like many others, most of which have long been forgoten, closed. out of buisness, whatever you want to say about it.
The simple fact is JJ will be the first to tell you that he feels responsible for the demise of chopperdome, that is why he stopped doing motorcycle shows after MM3, he knew that it was going to fast and soon it would start to fall, he was smart about it…..Many others rode it trying to get the last dollar and they wound up loosing everything, just ask Big dog, Kendel Johnson, Detriot brothers, and countless others.
thats all I have to say………

and one of the last true builders is gone and I was happy to call him a friend……. RIP….. Indian Larry

  84. 84 Seymour May 16th, 2011 at 11:09 am

    Hatings = Ratings!!!

  85. 85 Roadside Marty May 16th, 2011 at 11:14 am

I agree with Marc Mazerolle a 100%!!!!! Kevin Baas, Steve Jones and Darin Maltsberger not only are doing truly great things with high school kids but they are damn good people as well and I feel fortunate enough to be able to call them all my friends!!! Pay attention Discovery Channel!!!

  86. 86 Woody May 16th, 2011 at 11:38 am

John Reed said, “It would be more interesting if they did it WITHOUT their teams”. BINGO. Now THAT would be worth watching, and would be a great way for dispelling or reinforcing any of the love & hate normally associated with any & all of the parties involved. I couldn’t care less about the show concept as described by Cyril, but I sure would watch if it was just, “3 men-3 bikes”!

  87. 87 Drummer Dave May 16th, 2011 at 11:40 am

Almost ALL the OCC bikes I have seen built look too uncomfortable to ride more than the one mile test drive they do on the show after completion. Build one that you can enjoy. Not just something to look at!

  88. 88 geno May 16th, 2011 at 11:43 am

  89. 89 Joe Phillipson May 16th, 2011 at 11:44 am

Wow It is had for me to believe that many people in this industry do not realize that OCC really gave us a huge boost. Both father and son are approachable nice people and what happened to the industry after their first show would not have happened if it were not for them. I think we owe them a little more respect than you all are giving them. Jessie we all know is a great builder. It is a natural for a TV show. No one would watch if it were any of the (unknown to the public) builders mentioned above. Hopefully this will give our industry a well needed boost. Good luck to all 3!

  90. 90 Kit Maira May 16th, 2011 at 12:42 pm

If this is what it takes to get Biker Build Off back on TV, I’m all for it. Those shows were a tremendous boon to our industry. I hope that it is successful and leads to many more builders being showcased.

  91. 91 1 above May 16th, 2011 at 1:41 pm

jr all the way his bikes have been coming out looking great since he started his own shop not the same old thing like in the past!

  92. 92 JSDiamond May 16th, 2011 at 2:18 pm

OCC also has Rick and he’s no slouch when it comes to making parts from scratch. Anyway, if this build off actually happens it will be entertaining.

  93. 93 Unkl Ian May 16th, 2011 at 2:59 pm

P.T Barnum said: “You’ll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American Public.”

Discovery must be hurting for ratings.

Pretty sad situation for all three.

  94. 94 Grey Beard May 16th, 2011 at 3:28 pm

The Teutels, love them or hate them. You have to hand it to them for keeping the custom bike building industry in the forefront and help keep it alive. If it wasn’t for them, the gurggling of the custom bike craze swirling down the drain would’ve echo’d long ago. Sure their bikes are extreme theme bikes, it’s like the fashion industry, some tend to look gaudy, but there’s something on one of their bikes that’ll appeal and inspire someone building a custom bike.

Yea they get to be obnoxious at times, keep in mind it’s a scripted tv show.

  95. 95 rogue phil May 16th, 2011 at 4:11 pm

I don’t know about Sr and Jr, but I like JJ. I have been reading his column in Heavy Duty magazine, and
he is an american success story. A regular guy thrust into it all and it all got out of controll. Funny how
having kids realy gives you perspective on what is important. Go JJ!

  96. 96 chopperfreak29 May 16th, 2011 at 4:20 pm

Definitely jumping the shark. But I’m sure everyone’s making a lot of money and I’ll probably watch it just to see Jesse build a bike again.

  97. 97 www.thatmotorcycleshow.com May 16th, 2011 at 4:24 pm

This should be good. Any idea if they have shot it yet or when it’s gonna be on?

  98. 98 badams May 16th, 2011 at 4:41 pm

The interesting thing is to see exactly WHAT they build. Choppers, Streettrackers, bobbers, etc. So many genres have been coming and going during the rise fall and now rebirth of East/West custom scene.

As far as TV drama, thats part of it, would rather watch that than 30 minutes of commercial breaks wedged into a 1 hour program.

  99. 99 Scot May 16th, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Hopefully they won’t go with an accelerated build schedule. I always thought the 30 day build-offs were better. Too many parts pre-fabricated on the 10 day builds…

  100. 100 Chopper Kid May 16th, 2011 at 5:16 pm

I think it is just great. Finally mainstream America can see what a true fabricator is like. Hopefully people can tell the difference. In my opinion, Paul Sr is a business man, Paul Jr is a designer, and Jesse James is a fabricator, plus designer and also a business man. I can’t wait to see it. Jesse James is completely on another level. No disrespect ment towards the Teutuls, they are doing something right with the success that they have had, but they have received too much hype in light of what alot of others builders are able to achieve without any credit.

  101. 101 Mrmiata May 16th, 2011 at 6:20 pm

Operation Repo boys will sneak in and steal the show… and all the bikes!

  105. 105 Darin Maltsberger - Instructor@MTI May 16th, 2011 at 7:51 pm

Marc and Roadside Marty……..thanks. You guys are my friends and brothers in the fight to bring the generation “Y” students into the fold of the bike build culture. I think it would be great to get Baas, Jones, Mazz, and several others that are trying to educate our youth and instill a confidence in themselves by building bikes, together for a biker build off. Let the teachers coach, and the students build……100% Get some industry leaders to sponsor product for the builds, get the legends to judge the work, Have the “Horse” and “Cycle Source” , “Broken Spoke Salloon” do the promotional work………..Hell………call it a revival! Let’s face it……everybody who is anybody in this industry today was once a nobody. And nobody succeeds without a little help from his/her friends. I have spent the better part of my life obsessed with iron, fuel and speed as well as living as close to the edge of socially acceptable as possible. I teach today because it’s time for someone younger to carry that torch. Come on fellas…….screw Discovery Channel………..Bet this would make a better story for you Jesse.

  106. 106 Dan Schmidt May 16th, 2011 at 8:08 pm

Darin, the Discovery Channel, Jesse, the Teutuls care only about money. Nice what you do. But they don’t care about what you do if it doesn’t bring them money. Having your kids in a TV show is zero audience. It’s the way it is. Blame society.

  107. 107 Rider2 May 17th, 2011 at 12:22 am

While most of you guys here are (still) debating who is the biggest Hollywood whore, those guys are making money (big money) with TV shows and commercials (Jr just shot one for Dr Pepper which was actually good). This is smart for Discovery to do this for the ratings. Jesse James is still getting pretty beat up by the media and if you are listening to radio shows on the west coast, they’re not very friendly to the guy.

The ratings are good for the Jr vs Sr show and advertising rates were up 24%. You even start seeing some people like J&P Cycles or Biker’s Choice trying to place banners on the episodes.

None of the people you guys are mentioning here can come close to OCC or JJ as far as dragging crowds. I don’t see Jesse James making an unveiling in Daytona or somewhere else, nor I see ANY bike builders in this industry that had clients like Gilette, TransAm, Snapon or the NY Jets.

As Joe mentioned, those guys have done more for the industry than all of us combined. They can sell $60 t-shirts and release crappy CDs of their bands, right books about banging strippers and drinking beer. Give me one name who has come close to this over the past 10 years?

The OCC style has improved, they have great workers who know what they are doing (on both sides) and even if some of the details are sometimes weird, those have to be there for the clients. They are the ones paying the bills.

You can predict that Paul Jr will win this biker build off to bump his brand recognition and image and you can predict that Jesse James will build the nicest bike and that Jr and Sr will talk at the end of the episode.

This is TV for masses, pure marketing geniuses and good money for all of them and the announcers.
In a world where you have a show for people collecting coupons or making cakes or fat ladies jumping in muddy water, the episodes are actually better than ever. They are on at 9 pm on a Monday against heavy competition which shows they are working well for the network.

There is no lower standards for Jesse or others wanting to be on TV. This is business and TV is a huge marketing tool. End of story.

  108. 108 dmj May 17th, 2011 at 7:24 am

For all those involved. It is very hard to stop a serious down hill run in life, some never do and flame out. I am sure the money is where it is at, but making a clown of yourself for TV? Gota be a better way to make money or learn to live on less.

  109. 109 BrockinFLA May 17th, 2011 at 9:24 am

You have to realize something. The Teutuls are not in the “motorcycle” business. They are in the TV business plain and simple. Without Discovery Channel there is no Paul Jr. Designs or OCC. Its that simple.

Do you actually think in ten years of OCC being on TV, that ANY of the companies that have been spotlighted on the program give one shit about the “motorcycle”? Hell no they don’t! Snapon, Craftsman, Joe Blow Lincoln Welders, wouldn’t have gave one damn if the Teutuls built a motorcycle or a chrome shitter. The companies are getting an HOUR of television time from Discovery for about $3Million. Do you guys understand what an HOUR of television time costs? An HOUR of prime time talking about your new 3D 5 axis dick scratcher or Mother in law visiting at Christmas Insurance policy for accidental death? These companies aren’t paying the Teutuls. Discovery pays the Teutuls for the bikes. In the business model, the bikes are an afterthought. The Teutuls don’t even make money on the bikes. What they care about are the t-shirts and trinket shit they sell at Daytona or the themes choke and puke restaurant in Disney or Vegas with the name. Its Marketing garbage to the masses. The Teutuls if they were being honest would be the first to tell anyone, they cant sell a $60K motorcycle or a $10K set of custom cut wheels and pay the bills. They know this for a fact. look at the failed attempts at production bikes and all their bullshit parts business. Before Discovery, at one time OCC actually made affordable custom motorcycles. They actually sold some. Try to find and ask some of those owners about the bikes? They were unrideable garbage and the owners spent most of their time in litigation with the warranty underwriter trying to get them to run long enough to get rid of them.

Christ, when Jr. walked away from OCC the first time, who’s lawyers do you think drafted that piece of crap contract regarding the 20% shares of OCC? Not Jr. Not Sr. it was Discovery’s, in nothing more then an attempt to protect and continue the TV franchise.

Do you think its a mystery why Jr and Sr. business ownership/share contract wasn’t enforceable from a valuation standpoint and failed in state supreme court? Because it was written by a bunch of TV/media hack lawyers to start with, who in a strategically brilliant move had both Jr. and Sr. by the balls with a TV contract that was potentially in breach.

Its easy to bust the balls of the Teutuls on their motorcycle building techniques and ability. One has to understand something, its not been about the motorcycles to the Teutuls since the minute after the very first episode of OCC aired on TV and it was a ratings boom! From that moment they went from a typical small garage father/son custom motorcycle operation to a full blown TV/Entertainment T-shirt and mouse pad hucksters. Nothing more.

  110. 110 Unkl Ian May 17th, 2011 at 9:43 am

I guess “class” and “integrity”, went the way of “common sense”.

  111. 111 Warrior Poet May 17th, 2011 at 10:40 am

Latest word is that it’s all a hoax. Confirm? Deny? Who cares?

The last military bike Junior did a few weeks ago-he said if the miltary did a bike, this is what it would like. Really? With stars in the wheels and those wazoo bars? Your fifteen minutes are over, dude.

  112. 112 1550tc May 17th, 2011 at 3:28 pm

The companies are getting an HOUR of television time from Discovery for about $3Million.

how about the re runs drawing a 2-3 rating?? and using the bike as part of a promotional tour/plan

in all 3 mil as u claim is one heck of a deal for all the tv time………those OCC shows got bigger ratings than any WWE show with all their stars and time slot!!

  113. 113 nicker May 17th, 2011 at 3:32 pm

Your mother told ya (at least she should-a) that you are judged by the company you keep.

    Spot on!

    “…should make for good tv…”

    I doubt it.
Laural & Hardy and the Gorilla with the piano, all crossing that rope-bridge…
Now that was good TV….. :-)

  114. 114 Eric Maurer May 17th, 2011 at 3:57 pm

this is the dumbest thread ever and I am dumb for posting (no arguement on the latter comment :)
Its all about money. No one jumped a shark, sold out, is sliding down hill or flaming out…..

they are all getting paid! I am sure a fat stack of cash cushions any blow from the press, mags, haters, blogs, etc. For all those people who argue or say…. I know JJ and…., or I know how TV works and…. or PAul Jr this and OCC that.. or blah, blah, blah…. IT”S TV! It’s all fake!!!! Anyone of you would trade places in a second if it had a multi million dollar payout in the end.

No? You dont’t agree? Hmmm…. are you rich? Do you have a book deal? have you built up THE most popular motorcycle chopper shops (WCC and OCC) in pop culture, had many TV shows, etc. Doubt it.

Who the hell cares…. I will watch, you will watch, we all will watch and we’ll lap it up by the bowl full. Reality TV si ALL fake.

  115. 115 Walt Lumpkin May 17th, 2011 at 5:41 pm

Full contact build off MMA style. Or a no rules, no disqualification WWE last man standing match.
Now that would be worth watching.

  116. 116 jspfc May 17th, 2011 at 5:51 pm

The teutels would probably double up on Jesse to get him out and then file a lawsuit against each other. Each would claim that they did more work than the other in eliminating Jesse therefore they should get all the money.

  117. 117 chaos george May 17th, 2011 at 7:30 pm

will it include a road trip? jesse wins in 20 miles

  118. 118 bigalyts May 17th, 2011 at 8:48 pm

you have to figure this Deal a few different ways. One way is that this is TV Entertainment, a way to entice viewers. Another way is that there will be a thousand or two thousand or 20 thousand Industry people watching this Build off. This TV Network does not care that Jessie Builds Raw and the OCC Boys Build with other People. They want to sell space and all you Bloggers on Cyrill”s site wont mean that much in the Purchasing Power of the Sponsors. The other thing that you got to figure is that the Junior and Sr. are bpretty savy and they can Build a Bike that will out sell a Jessie James Bike anyday. Another way to look at the Senior and Jr. Team is they probably have Built 10 X’s as many Bikes or have been part of the Building of that many more Bikes than Jessie James. Also Howard Stern had Jessie a weeks ago, and he announced this Event.

  119. 119 Kirk Perry May 17th, 2011 at 8:56 pm

Include these ugly so & so’s, and see if they’ve still got it.

  120. 120 Neo Dutch May 17th, 2011 at 10:11 pm

Wow, if someone thinks that Chopper Unlimited started off this whole craze, they must be smoking the same crack as that criminal that ran that place.

  121. 121 chuck May 18th, 2011 at 12:02 am

wtf why dose Jesse James have to get in to this should be jr and sr only to fix there problems ( maybe)

  122. 122 Rider2 May 18th, 2011 at 12:08 am

BrockinFLA has summarized what it is all about. Bottom line, if any of us would have the call from a network to be on TV for next 10 years, get paid for yelling at people or be followed on a run to Mexico with Kid Rock, we would all do it in a minute.

Real TV is fake but so is most of the TV entertainment. This is not about motorcycle and has never been (maybe the first 3 episodes were).

More power to the ones who actually saw the potential to get rich and move forward when most of the rest were still trying to figure out how to bend some pipes in our garages/shops.

We’ll all gonna watch this, just because.

  123. 123 dan May 18th, 2011 at 12:23 am

i guess when you are the best, everyone wants to try to be better than you. it seems that EVERYONE wants to put down PJD. i think its just a way for the broadcasting companies to make money on any terminal between people.

  124. 124 haters May 18th, 2011 at 5:14 am

For all you Sr. Haters. Saying he cant build a bike. He built a business from the ground up that entailed building bikes. Yes, I agree he’s not handson but if you were intelligent enough to know – that has nothing to do with it… obviously he did something right or we all wouldnt be writing about this now would we?

    go sr.

Sr alluded to this on the show last night. “if we are in competition with each other at some point in the future” or something to that effect. Gave the hint that most wouldnt catch if you didnt have Cyril’s info.

  128. 128 ICE PICK May 18th, 2011 at 11:18 am

JESSE JAMES should stick to robbing trains instead of messing with these hacks that punch in a program a boom you have a bike he wouldn’t make as much money due to the fact that the trains move faster than a thousand horses and money isn’t carried on stage coaches and trains like that anymore but at least he would be true to himself instead of wearing makeup in front of bright lights and cameras but it seems he ain’t the brightest fella getting with kat von-d seeing as how she was with a different guy just about every episode my prediction is he will die of some horrible sexually transmitted disease cause of the porn nazi and the tat kat before the bike is even finished leaving jr. and sr. to battle it out and the winner then will be jr. cause vinnie is a hard worker and sr. will get alzheimers and have a heart attack yelling @ jr. who isn’t even in the same building and there you have it vinnie wins!!!

  129. 129 ICE PICK May 18th, 2011 at 11:24 am

i do tattoos ride a 77 sportster i built on a shoestring budget that blows away any bike sr. has built there you go i would like my own show please but wait i am drama free so it would bomb

  130. 130 Kent Reed May 18th, 2011 at 1:49 pm

Wow….tons of response to this! I don’t have the time to read all of them so this may be repeat but it’s all real simple….good ol’ American business…lots of drama and lots of air time for all three of them means lots of fans….lots of fans means lots of eyeballs on the TV Screen and tons of dough for the Discovery Channel! Kudos to them for setting it up. As for who’ll win…if it’s like all the other build-offs, the fans in a crowd at some rally will be the voters so once again the most popular will win…if they can build or not!

Above all…totally good for the Harley Aftermarket world! I selfishly just hope one of them builds a bitchin’ Bagger! : )

  131. 131 mikeyjr May 18th, 2011 at 3:39 pm

  132. 132 Warrior Poet May 18th, 2011 at 6:47 pm

Not doubting you, Ice… Man… beating some of Senior’s bikes is entirely plausible. As is beating some of Junior’s. And dare I blasphemy? I’ll bet a lot of folks could beat the phony Gun Slinger as well. Could you post a link to yours?

  133. 133 Chopper Kid May 18th, 2011 at 8:51 pm

I am sure that they won’t do it this way, but they need to bring them in some tubing and sheet metal, empty motor and tranny case, all bearings, seals, motor and tranny internals and really have them build the bike. I have seen Jesse do it, Paul jr do some of it and Paul Sr tell someone to do while talking about how many bikes he has done before. Lets see them all do it. I know, I know,,, too much to ask.

  134. 134 nicker May 18th, 2011 at 10:18 pm

    When they become real Bikers.
Probably won’t happen any time soon.
Why would those who actually “Live eat and breath MCs” find dysfunctional moronics interesting???

    The rest? ….
Well ya, they’re probably do get excited about “soap opera” stuff.

  135. 135 Rick Peyton May 18th, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Honestly, I would rather see any of the builders from the Limpnickie Lot in there than these guys. Jesse is the shit and all but, everyone needs to see what the new blood can do. We have some really great younger builders out there right now. Pat from Led Sled. Kyle & Tyler from Lowbrow. The list goes on and on. That’s what the industry needs right now. Not the same old shit.

  136. 136 Mark May 19th, 2011 at 6:03 am

Doodah the show you proposed wouldnt work, Bill Dodge would need people to do his work for him, or just rip everyone one. I here he is in Kentucky now, and burned all his bridges back east.

Doodah : Now lets all tune into a real show off!! Jesse James VS Bill Dodge of blings cylces. If you want ratings that would be the way to hit the nail on the head!!!!!!!!

  137. 137 live2rideaglide May 19th, 2011 at 10:03 am

While I agree that these guys are not the premier builders of our day , they will draw the biggest tv crowd and that is certainly what Discovery is goin for. I am interested and would watch this before the reality blubber fest goin on now. The problem is producing a program that appeals to both custom builder purists
and the general public who are more likely to watch for the personal drama interaction. I will tolerate the latter to get a fix of some good fabrication and engineering which gives birth to some unique , ” biker cool ” pieces. If the building portion is the same old tired design themes , ( webs , antlers, diablos etc. ) mingled with a healthy dose of cuss-fightin dysfunctionism , count me out . I would like to see all these guys get down to some serious design and fabrication without the corporate influences of boots, insurance and lawn mowers. I’m ready and dubious.

all I want is the 30 day BBO back on air, the rest is just a placebo in my heart.

  144. 144 Wiz May 21st, 2011 at 3:48 am

I had to do 144, ’cause it adds up to 9! Majic number, ya know! It’s the only one that whatever you take it times, it still adds up to 9, i.e. 2×9=18-8+1=92×9=27-2+7=93×9=36-3+6=9, you take 9 times any number, let’s say 6547=58923…5+8=13+9=22+2=24+3=27…2+7=NINE!!! OHWEEOH!! I wuz born on the 9th in ’54…5+4=You guessed it! If you take all the letters of my name on my birth certificate, give each letter a number equivilent A=1, B=2, C=3, etc., add ’em up, guess what? NINE AGAIN!! I know this has got nuttin’ to do with the three men actin’ like a baby in their biker buildoff, but what the hell, we needed a break fer a little math lesson! Wiz

Finally we are going to see the West Coast style repped. Jesse is going to smash these guys he will show the world that the West Coast is the best coast. A real bike will be built not some theme bike. Too bad he does not live in the West Coast anymore, but he will always be a West Coaster in my miind

  146. 146 Heavy Metal May 21st, 2011 at 12:07 pm

After they finish their bikes give them 48 hours to pick up their checks on the end of a 900 mile ride on the bike they built. Jesse will make it and the two teutles will tap out in under 200 miles.

  149. 149 Brad Jun 3rd, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Seriously??? I could name at least ten guys here in Wisconsin that would blow any East or West Coast bike builders away. Bikes are in our blood. Out of these 3 though, I’d say Jessie all the way. He could out weld Jr. in his sleep.

  150. 150 Mavrick Jun 9th, 2011 at 8:12 pm

Do you all not like teams? We know this bike build off would not be between Jesse James vr Paul Jr vr Paul Sr but between Jesse James vr PJD Team vr OCC Team.

Paul Jr always promotes his group PJD it shows when the team is there for a bike unveil. Paul Sr likes to take all the credit even though he does little of the work. It showed in the Cadillac Build Off.

Today is October 6th. Wasn’t this supposed to happen “THIS SUMMER!!???”
    [I mean, LAST summer?]

I don’t think I slept through the show….I don’t think it EVER HAPPENED, guys.

To all the commenters above: remember Neil Young’s song, ‘Rust Never Sleeps?” Remember the line, “It’s better to burn out than fade away?” These three are living proof:

Jesse went down in flames (like the Red Baron –remember the Fokker power hammer he had in his shop?). However, NOT

Paul Sr. — is it just me, or does he look physically ill? He is a shadow of his former self. The show, lawsuit, etc.–the price of fame hangs heavy on him. I hope the peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches aren’t just around the next corner for him…..

OR Paul Jr. — ok, he is trying, I suppose. He has put forward a FEW apparently-original ideas recently. But come on– camping stoves and barbecue grills?

    My last word:
This ‘ 3-way build-of’f ” thing was an Interesting rumor, granted–which, amazingly, generated a lot of buzz [instead of instantly triggering everyone’s BS-meter, which it should have done]. But now we need a GOOD, new, custom bike building TV show.TIME TO MOVE ON.

  155. 155 Bluesmeister Nov 6th, 2011 at 5:59 pm

Paul Sr. on an aftershow Q&A on DC already predicted the outcome based on this being essentially a popularity contest and not a comparison of the buids and what will go into them etc. He places J.J. 1st, PJD 2nd, and OCC last based on his acknowledgement that right now they’re not very popular with the public / fans. Right out of Sr.’s mouth….

His approach to this however is a competetion against his own team’s ability to exceed previous creations, Might be a realization that he’s just not able to compete with Jr. and J.J. thereby saving some face by already admitting defeat, or it could be as he says, losing by lack of popularity,

Basically I’m with the ‘J.J.can outbuild them both’ group, especially if building from scratch -at least as much as humanly possible and within reason, leaving out all the pre-assembled computer designed C&C crap.

Popularity vote outcome= J.J. and Jr. a tossup for 1st, and OCC last. No matter how or by whom this gets judged, there’s no way to keep personal opinion and bias out of the judging unless it’s judged by people who don’t know any of the contestants, but who know at least a little about choppers or at least basic motorcycles. Don’t see that being possible in this day and age though. No way to make this a true fair competition IMO.

  156. 156 Bluesmeister Nov 6th, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Actually if there was a way to make an interesting enough show leading up to the unveils (without showing even one little part of the bikes), and then unveiling them on the public with only a number and no association with the builder; they might have a fair contest.

That’s how some music award contests I’ve entered and are judged, The music entries have numbers and there is no way to know who the composer is- especially at the finals level where the five finaist’s songs get sent out of state to music industry capitals (again with only a number), to be judged by music industry pros and artists.

  157. 157 Big Dog Nov 8th, 2011 at 4:41 pm

Occ will not even be a contender in this but I truly believe It will be a knock down drag out between jr and jesse. They both do great work and anyone that says jr cant compete with jesse has not seen the gears of war trike. That thing was amazing. I am A 100% paul jr fan but I know jesse’s work and I know he can compete with jr but anyone who says its its going to be a blowout either way is only kidding their self. JR, and Jesse are both great in their own way sr is the only joke without a chance of winning in this challenge. BTW has jesse ever made a see through tank on a bike ?? I think not… Good Luck to them both… And sr can kiss my A$$…

  158. 158 Big Dog Nov 8th, 2011 at 4:47 pm

I agree with Bluesmeister… I think they should start the night before any of the shows with a half hour showing the bikes only with a number and get a vote that way. then show the builds and the final being a showing of the finished products by the builders and telling of votes and winners!!!!!!!!!!! That would make for a completely honest winner and a popularity vote….

  159. 159 BIGDUKE6 Nov 8th, 2011 at 9:44 pm

Let’s look at this at a new angle.

OCC is going to turds. JR is going to be “American Choppers” the show unless Sr. sues everyone on the planet and has some clause in a contract drafted in a hurry before the millions got so large. The new show will be “American Design-The Showdown” or something. Jesse James is there to replace OCC. The problems, the crap bikes, the lawsuits, the negative ratings every time Sr is on TV, the assclown factor. Nobody wants to see the guy or the company much anymore. It’s just ugly on that side.

  160. 160 Bluesmeister Nov 9th, 2011 at 3:45 pm

I agree with Bluesmeister… I think they should start the night before any of the shows with a half hour showing the bikes only with a number and get a vote that way.”

That’s a great idea, and after thinking more on the fairness versus popularity issue, they could do the half hour presentation show for voting purposes, bring in maybe 10 top builders to start the voting and pre-judging (without giving their results), have the builders comment or whatever would add interest, and to keep anyone from relating and tainting their vote by a reference to a number system 1,2,3 or even letters like A, B, C which have a definite 1st to third feel that could influence who a person feels falls into the numbered or lettered system, they could use colors which have no value of first to third. I think since choppers are definitely associated with the good ol’ U.S of A, they could assign the colors red white and blue. Or if anyone thinks there’s a first to third feel about those colors, maybe you could suggest some other colors that have no particular sequence. Then people would vote on the assigned bike color and then the build shows would come later. Any thoughts?

Just trying to figure a way to not have anyone whine about the ‘popularity contest’ thing if they lose (or win for that matter). Let the builds do the talking

What engine will Paul Sr pick? What engine will Jesse go with?

We have already shipped Paul Jr. his engine for this event. We gave it our 100% and have never shipped a better looking engine. Paul Jr. asked us to do some real special things for that engine. I hope you guys like it. Its made in America in our shop in Kent, Washington. Proud to be American made. TP Engineering does our machine work. Keeping Americans working.

I can’t believe that they have Paul Sr. In it. He can’t build bikes. His company can barely build cookie cutter bikes. Jesse is the ultimate bike builder. Let them build the bikes without their crews. I just feel like there is already a set up. Either way Paul Sr. Should just the doors on his shop. He ruined his own imagine. Jesse James rules. Who gives a shit about his women issues. He builds badass bikes.

  165. 165 Choppmsn68 Nov 15th, 2011 at 1:16 am

No doubt Jesse will build the most bad ass bike, BUT, this is right in Paul JR’s wheelhouse, he will have “the home field advantage” because, as another astute poster pointed out, most who watch American Chopper wouldnt know a great bike or what a true chopper should be if one ran over their first born. Mark my words. Jr will win and it wont even be close. He is WAY more popular amongst those viewers than his dad. As a matter of fact Sr is so hated that Jesse will finish 2nd. There are many reasons why Jr is so popular, and NONE of those reasons have anything to do with any actual skill he has. NEITHER Jr nor Sr, could walk into a shop and fabricate sheet metal, or chop a frame, or do anything that actual craftsman can do, and it wont matter unfortunatley. I’ll do my part and pay a buck or whatever it is to vote for Jesse, but I doubt there are enough of us to make a real difference

  166. 166 Choppmsn68 Nov 15th, 2011 at 1:24 am

In response to what motor Jr will be using, was there any doubt he was going to use that indian motor? He has a deal with them and has used them on the last few bikes hes done regardless of whether or not it goes with the bike or not. And if he has already had them do some special one off motor, that tells me right there that this isnt going to be any kind of deadline based crunch time build-off like the old build-off series,as they were obviously given enough time to order one off motors etc. I wish it wouldve been a 10 day build like the old ones. Of course if it was, Jr couldnt have had the time to go through his parts catalog and order stuff, or get brandon his sheet metal guy flown in in time. Jesse is a true builder, those other 2 are glorified assemblers, the only one on American Chopper that I have ANY respect for is Rick Petko. Hes the only one in either of those shops with any true skills

  167. 167 Choppmsn68 Nov 15th, 2011 at 1:33 am

Just read Bluesmaster’s idea about it being a “blind” vote. I think that would be the fairest way you could do it. Great idea to have 5 or 10 top builders come in and comment on the bikes before voting begins as well. Of course we all know, this wont happen because Discovery has to protect their cash cow, the American Chopper series. Actually the fairest way to do it imo would be to do it how it used to be done. Dont let the TV viewers vote on it, because as we all know most fans of the American Chopper show arent even bikers, so, have em set up in Daytona, or some other major bike event and let those people decide. At least if it were done at a bike rally you would have a better chance of real bikers deciding the out come instead of bunch of people who really have no clue as to what they are looking at

  168. 168 E Nov 15th, 2011 at 3:05 am

I agree that’s the best way to judge these bikes (a bike rally / event), as true bikers will know what’s cookie cutter versus what someone built with sweat, muscle, and craftsmanship, without a C&C doing everything for you and catalog ordered parts to assemble. I agree there shouldn’t be a bunch of couch potato drama TV loving voters deciding about something they don’t know a thing about. Yep, that’s the best idea so far, but like ya said, Discovery has to protect their cash cow and market to the masses.

Come on people…wake up and actually WATCH the shows!! Jesse James does a lot by hand, by sheer talent and his desin ability, but his “people” actually do a lot for him as well with West Coast Choppers. He does not make every inch of a bike as far as design and fabrication…..machines and other people do it as well! Paul senior and OCC do a lot with CADD and other software programs, as well as pre fabrication frames, etc. Sr. really does nothing any more.

Paul Jr. and PJD do most of theirs by what is in Jr.’s head. They have a talented team of builders that all put their heads together and come up with a product. They do use new machinery to help them, but why not? It gets it done faster, easier and cheaper in the long run, which means more profitability.

Jesse James is a loudmouth fame junkie that just wants the camera on him. I am surprised that after his very public “screw-ups” they let him back on this type of show. Iit will be interesting to see what they come up with. If anyone was watching the Cadillac Bike build off that Jr. and Sr. had – he SMOKED his father by a margin of 4 to 1 in the voting and that bike brought almost $250,000.00 when it was sold to aid in Cure Duchenne’s!! What has Jesse done to aid in anything but HIMSELF? The guy is a genius, very, very talented, probably more talented than both SR. and JR, but will lose because he is in it for HIM!

  182. 182 Joe Blow Nov 22nd, 2011 at 12:46 am

Look – the plain and simple fact is they build bikes for entirely different people. Jr and Sr make bikes for corporations, and as promotional tool which Jr does very successfully – integrating the companies themes, logo and styling cues, Sr not so much. And they do stuff for the fans, merch, etc..

Jesse makes bikes for the real deal, ride em hard all day long, and yes he can build it from the ground up.

Both sides – Jr and Jesse have talent – and different fans as well as market, pure and simple. Sr, assembles what he likes and the hell with everything else, that is why his theme bikes are no where near what Jr does.

Pure and simple – different strokes

After watching the ground zero 9/11 memorial episode of Sr. Vs. Jr. and watching J.J. talk and act like a Junior High School punk, I can say that ( three-way bike build aside), Paul Jr. has been the only man worthy of the word ‘man’ in this whole thing. His dad is just a hair less of a classless and clueles child than J.J. showed himelf to be on that episode. Then J.J. taking shots at the OCC and PJD crew for their looks and bodies? Well J.J,, all I can say is have you taken a real good look in the mirror lately??? You look like someone with one foot in the grave to me. And that cake prank…. I think Paul Sr. might have something there in his comments about J.J. and what was on the cake. I’ve lost ALL respect for J,J, and not sure he’s deserving of any in the first place.

All my support is behind Paul Junior now as he’s shown himeself to be a ‘man that took the time, effort, and determination to build a succesful business for himself and his beautiful and supportive wife and gave enough of himself (through his own tough times), to support his brother through all that he was going through. Paul Jr.’s the only person with decency and character that will garner him the support and respect he’s earned and continues to earn through his mature and selflessness and suport of those around him. Respect isn’t demanded or coerced with threats of loss of a job or inheritance or what have you. It’s earned.

I think the three of them should get together, and get three of the best biker build off winners to have a crew and do a build off. Jesse doesn’t seem to give occ any credit, but I’m sure he has some respect for them. After all, it’s BIKES that’s what brings people of all walks of life together because they love bikes and riding. I KNOW they could get along and put their minds together and make some cool stuff. And, …my opinion only I think Rick would love to work with Jesse and get some tips…Rick does alot of forming on the english wheel, the other hammers and such, but Jesse could difinatly give him some tips. I just watched a metal church video of jesse making a tank. he went through so much time and effort to make a tank that almost looked just like the one he took the measurements off of, he couls have just used the peanut thank setting there on the table, but…it wasn’t hand made by him. Most people wouldn’t notice but Jesse knows, he built the tank by hand after many hours and even going back to his mento for help. No One Is Perfect!

I think JJ is lame, and I’m not a fan of Paul Sr. I think Jr. is more artistic minded and that’s what Sr. couldn’t figure out. JJ talking trash and pulling childish stunts will be his undoing. If Jr. and Sr. wanted to drop to his level and screw with his mind they could refer to his screw up with a real lady like Sandra and how he’s going after an ugly circus freak like Kat Von D. Man that chick is ugly and not a true tattoo artist. My niece, who free-hands her tattoos, can run circles around Von D, and she’s more attractive and more of a woman! And in reference to the guy who was getting JJ’s back about cheating on Sandra, real men DO NOT CHEAT on the woman they’ve committed themselves to, only little men who are controlled by that little head between their legs cheat.

  196. 196 ducatichick1098r Dec 5th, 2011 at 9:35 pm

being a professor who teaches design in architecture, I am very happy to see Jesse challenge the other two teams to a build off. Unfortunately, there are far too many americans who have somehow fallen into the ‘Disney World” trap where everything needs to develop from some fantasy and look like something else. THAT isn’t creativity of design!!! it’s nothing but CRAP!!!!!!
Instead of depending on some other well designed object, building, etc and just adding parts in some theoretically “creative” way is teaching more and more people that actual design doesn’t matter. This in the end, is hurting the complete design industry and those clients who request such ignorant requests to design a themed anything, SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Design needs to come from the mind and I believe Jesse has a lot of talent and will pull off the upset even though i believe the ignorant public may out number the people who know what true creativity is.

To Paul jr and Paul Sr. get to educate yourself about true design and perhaps get the most ignorant member, Jason into some design classes too.

Lets be real. Jesse James is the king of previous level motorcycle designs and building. If you want something sleek and mean and from the early 2000s, jesse is the man. Unfortunately, since the way people turn into legends and get idolized in what they do, is go next level!! PJD is NEXT LEVEL in everything they do, so unless jesse comes with some amazing customization, or he stands no chance. From what im currently seeing, he will come in 2nd, simply because OCC is producing an oversized legoland toy my nephew has. OCC creation looks like Tron on steriods,, with tatoos! Horrible!! My prediction will be 50% votes for PJD, 25JJ, and 25 OCC, PJD beating both “teams” by double. Because thats how you know your next level.. When even the best cant hang!

  209. 209 Tex Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:32 pm

West coast cool, there is no substitute. The best hot rods and choppers have a west coast heritage. Jesse is going to win hands down!

  210. 210 Willy Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:32 pm

Jj and pjd build off great! I thought Paul sr. Was in it but like all his work it’s Jason on computer and his elfs do the work. Sr. Got lost on the Santa bike ( go set on north pole or some pole) which ever.

  211. 211 Jay Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:34 pm

The OCC Bike or whatever… is such poo it is just a cheap copy of the of the gears of war bike,

Jesse will make a bad a$$ bike but Jr.s Fighter Plane bike is just awesome!!!

this has been a word from the Baron

  215. 215 Carlos Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:38 pm

By the way Jessie (girls name mostly) have you tried the hair club for men lately? Oh, I forgot you’re a puss and not a man.

  216. 216 john f Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:40 pm

I am a (starving) home builder from the jersey shore and i do not advertise. I get work from word of mouth only. I see really bad work done by other builders everyday. I get calls from homeowners who want additions and they do not use the builder who built their house. I go in the home and told who did the work and I NEVER EVER say a negative thing about them. Unless it is a safety hazard. I judge other peoples work and keep it to my self. I may never say anything positive about them either. I do compliment my competitors who do good work but I never disrespect anyone in my business. Karma is a crazy thing. I notice that some people on Jesse’s team are actually jealous. They don’t like the Tutles because they are successful. It does not matter if you approve how they do what they do. I like the show and I realize that I could never afford a bike like that. They make bikes because people like them. Jesse makes bikes cause He like them?? what about the person who buys the bike. They have to like it too. Don’t hate because they are successful. God Bless them that in an economy like this they can still make money. I am hurting real bad right now and could use a boost in my spirits for me and my family. My son and I both work with our hands and like to see a show that shows their talents not listen to Jesse cry and put everyone on the other side down personally. Or better yet he will guess how they do something then put that down. Just shut up and build your bike. complaining never got anyone anything. bitching and moaning are just that for women not men. So Jesse if you got it Shut the F*** up about the Tuttles and how they do things and work. Cause if you worked for me I would have fired you already. No one on my crews bitch. We are all former service men and we know what really is worth bitching about and another person is not it. Good Luck to all but I used to like you Jesse but an hour of your complaining makes me wonder how the F*** you got to were you are.

  217. 217 Goldie Zietz Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:43 pm

    You go Kelli!!

Paul Sr should be ashamed of himself, and Jesse is just pitiful!!!

  218. 218 Remsie Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:43 pm

PJD all the way. Senior mocking Jr. Honestly. Jesse trash talking. PJD working on the build off. Looking great.

  219. 219 john f Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:45 pm

i am a big WWII warplane fan. I love the P-51. but I saw an F-4U corsair (model) in the background in one shot. Being a former Marine myself I may seem a bit partial to any plane that is strong enough to land on a carrier. But the P-51 is more recognizable. I still wish Jr had used the corsair for the bike but if not then “the Cadillac of the Sky” is a good choice. Go Jr. Is Sr’s thing a bike or is it a jeep??

  220. 220 Bill cupped sal Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:50 pm

Jesse James is a B$tch him and his west coast thing. He ripped me off on a 500 dollar starter many years ago.
Pay you debts Jesse James. Punk-
    He screws the little man.
Remember who MADE YOU. The little man.

  221. 221 john f Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:55 pm

to bill cupped sal— How do you think these rich people stay that way. I deal with them everyday building their 2nd or even 3rd homes. they F*** us. You think he remembers what is was like deciding weather to pay the heat bill or food for his kids?????????????? F-no. there attitude is why on my contracts the last payment is less then 1% of the entire job. They always like to not pay the final payment.

  222. 222 Ricky martinez Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:55 pm

Occ build something u can’t even drive on the road like u should a bike so how does that fall in the bike build off

  223. 223 lderosia05 Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:58 pm

Paul sr is a poor excuse of a father to his sons Mikey nad Paul jr. Now I seen all 3 bike andPaul jr has his built with style and his vision and his team is behind him 100 percent of the way. U go Paul jr. Paul sr. I think you need to look at the episodes and see how u have always treated ur sons and paul jrs vision n his bikebilding is the of all times. uo bikes looks nothing like paul jr.

  224. 224 The Red Baron Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:59 pm

I agree with John F the WWII them is just awesome, they got my vote.

    Occ’s crap n wagon doesn’t have a chance.

  225. 225 stephen f. Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:00 pm

I vote for paul jr.He will beat any bike bilder out there .He has class. And his Dad is just as good.they shood have never partted. Good luck paul jr. And for Jesse james stick to bike week, you don’t compeat with these guys.

  226. 226 george Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:01 pm

unless any of you can build bikes you need to shut the hell up, how can you call paul sr and jr assemblers when you see them making gas tanks and the theme bikes they build are what the people buying them ask for, look at jr’s world of war and cadillac bike’s the parts that were built for them didn’t come off any store shelf, trouble is with this and any other biker build off is its never about the better bikes its alway who your favorite is

  227. 227 george Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:05 pm

sorry my bad JR’S GEARS OF WAR TRIKE

  228. 228 Tex Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:06 pm

Paul Sr – Congrats you just built a high tech lawn mower, where’s the flux capacitor dude. You were suppose to build a “MOTORCYCLE”.

Paul Jr – I like you, but who commissioned this project? Queen Elizabeth!

Jesse – You did it again!

  229. 229 R/T Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:11 pm

WTF, who brain washed you one sided idiots into worshiping JJ big mouth, all can do is put down everybody else to make himself look good, what a punk, granted he really does the craft but seen one of his bikes youve seen them all. Ugly BS that you have to look around the tank to see. Not everybody likes old school style which is all he knows. The bottom line is they were asked them to build a winning bike and no matter how they do it is their business, ya got something against technology. JJ is big mouth pussy who has to bark to be bad. There are so many better bike builders that dont have to boast or have TV shows. Face it how big was his brain misusing and loosing Sandra. What a little cry baby. JJ u suck

  230. 230 danny m Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:21 pm

This build off is between Jesse james and paul jr. Occ does there stuff of the computer which any body can do. Jesse james and jr build things from the head. This will be a tight race between jr and jesse… I like both of there bikes…..

  231. 231 Bill Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:22 pm

    Junior will win

  232. 232 Bill Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:24 pm

  233. 233 Cosenbob Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:26 pm

JJ= HASBEEN…………forget it go back to HOLLYWOOD, PAUL sr. ……..you lost by building something that you let a College FLUNKIE design on the computer , dont get me wrong………….looks nice but ITS NOT A BIKE. And LASTLY PAUL JR …….MY HAT IS OFF TO YOUR WORK , looks very nice with GREAT DETAIL. not sure I would have incorprated that SMOKE EFFECT, BUT OVER ALL GREAT BIKE ……….HAS TO BE THE WINNER …………….GOOD JOB PJD AND TEAM

  234. 234 rex Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:28 pm

jr.’s my favorite by far sr.’s is the coolest but it aint a bike , but what a machine.

  235. 235 Michael Lenz Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:35 pm

First of all this is a bike build-off, so lets see all three of them jump on their BIKES and go on a 500 or 600 mile ride. Good luck Sr. he nver put one finger on that whatever it is. Jr.s bike is kinda cool to look at But again, exhaust in the gas tank HELLO. JESSE JAMES is the man and builds a bad-ass chopper that will kick-ass all the way across the country.

  236. 236 Ossain Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:35 pm

From what I’ve seen there are only two bike builders, JJ & Jr. The dispicable Sr. must have thought they said it’s a snowmobile build off. Sr. did nothing on his creation he had Jason design it on the computer and his employees build it. I wished one of them would have had the balls to tell the old man this build was nfg. As a bike builder Sr. is nothing just as a father he is nothing. JJ’s build was a bit disappointing with the same old same old and unless you have arms like a monkey it’ll be a hard ride for any distance. Jr’s bike is a work of art but to me, not a practical ride. I wish Jr. would get away from the theme builds and build a practical chopper which we know he can do. The Detroit Brothers and guys like them are true bike builders and I really miss those types of builders being on the discovery channel.

  237. 237 Vinny In Utah Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:36 pm

To all that keep flapping their gums and saying that Jr. is a cake decorator you don’t have a clue what your talking about. Yes they make theme bikes but that is what they are paid to do but when it comes down to it Jr. can build a bike as good as anyone. I won’t take anything from Jesse James he is a awesome bike builder and fabricator and he may be a better fabricator than Jr. but that is not what Jr. does he is an artist with a team of guys that help him make his ideas come to life. If you watch the show at all you will see that Jr. and his team make their bikes from scratch, yes they may use the Flow machine but they still make their tanks, fenders and sometiimes their frames from scratch. OCC on the other they are the cake decoraters and the machine they are building for this thing though would be fun to drive is not even close to custom chopper, they had the frame made else where, the tracks bought off of a shelf and so what did they do. Their are some talented guys on OCC (Rick, Mike) but their bikes are boring. I am voting for Jr. , Jesse’s bike looks good but it looks like all the other bikes he builds and he was saying how he makes his bikes to ride, he can barely reach the handle bars and to an extent I know that is what he was going for but come one that isn’t comfortable. Go Jr.

  238. 238 Michael Lenz Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:42 pm

DISCOVERY if you want a real bike build-off Jesse James vs Billy Lane

  239. 239 jane Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:42 pm

Jesse MY husband mike likes your bike the best.

  240. 240 rocky Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:54 pm

Saw the bikes…..creativity & cutting edge = Jr……old school & bare bones = Jesse……wtf = Sr. Nothing new folks, its been this way. It will be this way after the vote. Nothing has changed. Jr. is the present and the future as it stands. Sr. decided his own fate when he let his own insecurities come between him and his boys and Jesse is a rebel in his own mind……I think he’s a p*ssy……how bout a new name for his company? …..Jesse VaJayJames Customs

  241. 241 shonuff Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:55 pm

Jr kills um, jess bike looks as old as his uzi, get sum new ideas man!..im thinkin codies 1st bike he built looks better, and sr wat the hell is he thinkn. This ain’t canada.

  242. 242 john f Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:19 am

Jr’s bike has the right stuff. everyone is saying we don’t see all of the fabrication from any of them. But from what I can tell the OCC team is mostly off the shelf assembly. jj s bike looks good but jrs is better and after all it is all subjective to what the client wants. The customer is ALWAYS right. Jr has some great ideas in that head and vinny pulls it out. Jr wins this hands down unless JJ stocks the crowd with Hollywood!!!!!!!!!!!

  243. 243 john f Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:21 am

yo rocky you may be onto a good name for JJ’s company — he sure complains like he’s got one

jesse builds a bikers bike not a show piece that couldnt make it from detroit to windsor across the ambassador bridge ..tuetles give it up

  245. 245 Frank Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:43 am

I see all of these comments built his bike alone but i guess these people did not see him call in one of his crews in to help him finish it ….

  246. 246 leroy Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:50 am

Jesse james is letting his ego get in the way.which is why he is not going to win pjd i think has got this.

  247. 247 Big John Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:53 am

I think when all said jesse has it it is the most ride able how long do you think jr can take the smoke nice bike just dont want to ride it…

  248. 248 Paul Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:02 am

JJ what the F**K happened to you man!!! I remember when you were cool….Hollywierd messed your head up! You turned into a “dick”…just like ALL those you used to make fun of….what a shame.

  249. 249 darwin hanson Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:09 am

This is a biker build off, not an electric tank build off! One down! Looks like J.J. made another bike for Peter Fonda and the Easy Rider sequel JR. built another off the walls scoot!!! Keep up the great work Paul Jr.

  250. 250 ed Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:32 am

Jessie has no imagination – little change from one bike to the next. And such an ego!

Paul Jr. has a clean bike with some new ideas – single swing-arm, tank-exhaust w/ smoke – so cool!

Sr – wake up Pops – this is a bike build-off, not an ATV build-off – and it’s not even street-legal. What was he and his shop thinking??? At least now we know who had the vision in that shop; and without Jr’s vision, OCC will never be the same – a 2nd-rate bike shop.

  251. 251 mark Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:51 am

This build of should be between Jesse and Paul junior designs. Paul senior didn’t even work on his machine

  252. 252 Karen Winfree Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:05 am

I love Jr.s bike. But for old school Jesse did an awsome job. Too butt Sr. What were you thinking that sure the hell was no bike…

  255. 255 chuck Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:38 am

I love JJ bikes and the the hole hand builtd thing but really, most of them are no more than soupped up Big Dog motorcycles, I think the real creativity comes in with new school Paul JR. and there new designs taking motorcycles to a new level. There’s room for SR. last. I think he copped out with the snow mobile bike because he could’nt hang building a real motorcycle but it’s all good. I can’t wait to see how this turns out

  256. 256 mark Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:08 am

OCC didn’t even build what they are entering into the contest. Nor is it a bike. One companies of the chassis. Another company built the tracks. Third company came in and installed all of the electrical to make the tracks work. Fourth company built the flame throwers OCC bolted on. Finally another company built the fiberglass housing that covers up everybody else work. Then Sr.did his part of the bild which is driving the bike.

  257. 257 steve Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:00 am

Its sad to see 2 hasbens trying to show they still have it. but my vote goes to paul jr. he isnt stuck in the. past, just looking to the futcher .

  258. 258 Dave P Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:35 am

WHAT WAS PAUL SR.. THINKING DID HE KNOW HE CANT BEAT HIS SON OR JESSE . AND THAT IS WHY HE DID NOT BUILD A BIKE .PJD did a great job but again its a bike that looks like something . PJD had a chance to build a bike to show off his style and did not , and jesse his bikes are cool but he stayed in side his box . shame on all three of you .you just lost a fan

  259. 259 JT Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:37 am

Paul Jr. is the artist, JJ is the blacksmith, and Paul Sr. . . . . . . well, forget about Paul Sr.

  260. 260 greg Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:05 pm

after watching the show last night I have to say if it was a snowmobile build off that OCC would win hand down……….. But Its not OCC Its a bike build off so good luck to PJD and Jesse James. Both Bikes were awesome looking

  261. 261 Wild bill Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:08 pm

I thought Paul sr.crew are some of the biggesr a-wads on tv,any father that can take a flamethrower to a cut of his son is one sick puppy! When you have three sons and none will speak to you maybe you are the commondenominator (come on rick smell the coffee) .as for Jessie just another red hardtail big deal nothing new there maybe he should try his hand at cakes seems like a better fit if you get my drift.pjd rules in this one cool crew not a bunch of would be’s,great art!

  262. 262 johnny Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:50 pm

Nice job Jesse. In 1980 your bike would have won most of the shows. Paul Sr. WTF. maybe a good movie prop. Paul Jr. congratulations you deserve to win this one. With all this being said, if this competition is to determine the World’s Greatest, a few other builders should be included. Especially Arlen Ness!

  263. 263 duck man Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:02 pm

Paul sr isnt trying to win. Paul jr didnt do a Practical bike, i would ride that bike if it was the last bike alive. Jessie james bike is my choice. I wanted to see a bike that i would ride and be Proud of.

  264. 264 No1zson Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:12 pm

JJ is just a d1ck. Not sure why he is talking so much smack considering the product he (and 50 other people) just turned out.
Sr is Sr and there is a reason no one likes him. Nice snowmobile.
Don’t really like the PJD bike, but it is by far the most creative bike to come from this build off.
The only thing I learned from watching this show was that JJ has some inflated sense of self importance, and I do not know why. I wouldn’t be able to tell that bike apart from 100 others I’ve seen at any other bike show. I wouldn’t have expected much, but he talked so much smack I thought he was going to really do something; fail.

  265. 265 Tin Shack Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:13 pm

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the total rip-off of Roger Goldammers design by Junior on this build? Take a look at Goldammers BTR3 and Trouble bikes built 6 and 7 years ago. Junior took the design and added a circus-like smoke show. Jesse gets the nod……..he built a chopper.

  266. 266 kc Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:53 pm

JJ is a big phony, if they took the f word out of his vocabulary, he’d just be another geek! The reason he build that tank so small is that it enables him to get more rest stops where he can get the kink out of his neck from looking around that has been bike. What a loser.PAUL jR. HAS SHOWED THE MOST CLASS THROUGH THIS WHOLE SERIES. The old man is just what he is, a grouchy old man who never grew up.

  267. 267 johnny g Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:01 pm

Hey! Quit picking on JJ, I think he’s cute!

  268. 268 bigjoe Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:59 pm

jesse is the real bike builder ol man tuttle come to the table with a lawn mower what a dum asand his pig nose kid come with a wall ornament vinnie and the rest of the crew are bozos as well as the stupid son

  269. 269 William Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:27 pm

do any of you hatin m*ther F*ckers watch the show? as for O.C.C who the f*ck cares if they don’t make their own frame, RICK fabricates the damn gas tank hand made!, sr does F*ck all. Jesse is a DICK, his bike really sucked azz . Jr was by far the classiest of all!! I would take jr, vinnie and rick anyday of the week against Jessica and her bikes. Rick smarten up and leave O.C.C. Now as for 100% build it yourself besides the motor! so technically speaking no bike is 100% hand made d*ck lickers! Russ mitchell has some bad azz bikes!

  270. 270 mikey Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:45 pm

@tin shack really? pjd’s bike looks nothin like goldammers bikes. i guess maybe if you had a few too many and your vision was a bit blurry and seeing double. pjd built a good bike if it was something you had sitting in a showroom and was never to be ridin… yet again just another theme bike after a p51 mustang…. come on what with the theme cant anybody just build a good ol’ bare bones chopper anymore? paul sr… what in the f@#k are you thinking? when i first seen the plans on the computer i thought to my self “this has to be a joke” wtf? occ cant build anything right off the tops of their head… everything has to be done on a computer thats hella weak…. jesse hands down takes the cake!!!! his bike pulled up to the shop in the form of stell plate and tubing on the back of a flatbed truck. when it comes to being a “true” bike builder you have jesse james…. not hating on pjd i do like their work but over half of their stuff is ordered and mounted on the bike and then slap their logo on it. jj all the way!!!!!!

  271. 271 mikey Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:46 pm

    oops i meant steal plate

  272. 272 chris Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:19 pm

WTF PJD really ? They wouldn’t be s#!t if it wasn’t for OCC, Sr. made them and Jessica is a has been that need some positive media since he looks like the new tiger woods !
Stop hating on Sr. for being smart!

  273. 273 brian Dec 6th, 2011 at 6:00 pm

jj is the a hole sr wins

  274. 274 Frank James Dec 6th, 2011 at 6:29 pm

Is Jason Poole a ratard or what!!

  275. 275 Rob Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:02 pm

Should have just gave the trophy to Jesse and saved the network tons of cash on production .
Jesse is the only ” real ” builder , and a true hands on craftsman . Yeah , there is drama in his past , but the contest is the best builder , which is Jesse . PERIOD . You can ride Jesse’s bikes hard and fast , the OCC waterjets are not practical or rideable , nor would a real biker be caught riding a yuppie softtail .

Now for the PJD bike , I like the design and the look however it is just a show bike , not practical and he missed a few key details . Aircraft pedals , control stick , tank mounted 50.cal , and the icing for the cake.

  276. 276 rocky Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:04 pm

Thank you John F…..and I just wanted to post it again…JESSE VAJAYJAMES CUSTOMS…or wait…..is that an asshole?

  277. 277 troy t Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:11 pm

pjd is who vote for i think that is cool bike i would ride it jj needs to get up to date with his bikes

  278. 278 george Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:20 pm

Well after watching the first half, i really think that it is one big setup, not sure for what, but lets look at it like this. aside from the way JJ is acting, his bikes speak for themselves, as for JR and SR i can remember when they had an occ in house build off where jr and sr chose members of the occ team and built two bikes to raise money, the one jr built was not a theme bike but it was a great looking bike, and when sr and cody built their old school chopper, looked awesome, it was simple but great, or jr’s anti venom bike, awesome, or sr pow bike, come on discovery channel lets have a build off that isn’t scripted, look at what your doing, JJ typical oldschool chopper, jr another theme bike, and what are you having sr or should i say OCC building,

  279. 279 michael Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:24 pm

What the HEL!!! Did anyone watch the show last nite??? The show is BIKEer build off, and if i remember correctly – the show was about builders goin’ against each other AFTER a five hundred mile { give or take } ONLY then it was voted on by the fans. Sr.- WTF is that thing ??? frame- subbed out, trax {again i say WTF??!!} sub, motor sub. and on and on. Sr U never even touched it!! Rick – excellent fabricater, but i bet even u were ashamed of beig a part of it. Jr’s trailer queen sans smoke woudnt b bad- but again frame , suspension subbed. with that said, its not a build off bike. jj did exactly what he said he was goin 2 do – build a bad ass bike- by the way- frisco’s ARE timeless. Of the three builders jj did was only one who got his hands dirty, built a frame, etc etct. It IS the only buld off bike by proxy.

Jesse Nazi James should keep his head in the sand and shouldn’t even be on the show!! What a loser!! I can’t believe the discovery channel would bring that loser in the picture!! I hope he comes in last place. He’s a racist jack ass!!

  281. 281 michael Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:32 pm

Diud- ithought we were comment on bikes

  282. 282 Guido Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:41 pm

ok, Jesse the racist James bike is a joke! Same old thing, I like to see a builder use some imagination and creativity not just same type of bike. The racist bike builder just changes colors on the same type of bike!! Very boring, I think it’s a cool bike don’t get me wrong, but it’s the same old thing! I like to see some new ideas! My favorite bike of all time is the MW3 bike PJD made. Let’s remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! What I think is cool and bad ass is not necessarily what you might think is cool and bad ass.

  283. 283 Michael Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:56 pm

I have no doubt if the real bikers vote then JJ will come out on top. pjd needs to be last. I’m so tired of hearing him whine about daddy all the time. pjd and senor are both the same. given raw steel neither could build a frame but both learned to paint by the numbers. GO JJ

  284. 284 G Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:56 pm

everyone talks like Paul Sr and Jr don’t build themselves Sr not so much but Jr and Vinny do they spend countless hrs building ( hands on ) sure a lil help but Jesse called in for some help too. They can all build so its the ideas they come up with and making it happen even with help its still got to pass what they want its no one else creating. Jr’s bike is far above Jesse’s I hope Jesse was talking to hype up the build off and dont believe his own crap about Jr. Thats right Jr has this comp. won Jesse second he can build and has skill idk what Sr built its a fun toy not a bike

  285. 285 Chris Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Jesse?..His Bikes are OLD NEWS!..Even if I had 150.K,,I wouldn’t buy one of his bikes! Nothing Ive ever seen him make is exciting..You have to be INOVATIVE! and he is not!..and Sr.?..Ive never seen him design, weld, and build a bike that worth a crap!..all his stuff is too high in the front..and the gastank is in the face! all old 70’s styles that he likes..The trend has been long and low..THATS what everyone likes nowdays!..Paul Jr. IS the man Jesse! your just jealous he’s on top and took a hike and threw your show away years ago! you coulda had the world by the balls! but ya screwed up! Oh and I AM A BAKER/CAKE DECORATOR!..I bet even I could design a better looking bike than both Jesse and Sr.!

Jesse James has got to be the biggest idiot of all time. He was married to Sandra Bullock and blew it by sleeping with some sleaze bag? He will not admit it but he made the biggest mistake of all time.-His bike sucks

Way to go JR and his crew congrads!!!!!!!!!

  293. 293 bob Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:25 pm

Jr. built a bike but it was way off from a chopper and Sr. is self expanatory, but J.J. was so old school-
I wish Arlan Ness, Chica, Detroit Brothers and others from last years build offs were there and then it would have been real build off and not an hour of my life I wasted watching Discovery channel.

  294. 294 michael Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:53 pm

if u all think “old school” bikes r dated – Indian Larry’s [ GOD rest his soul ] ” old school” rat fink vs. Yaffe’s LONG & LOW – Rat Fink. Paul then built an ” old school ” – winner ? – Yaffe hmm… Billy Lane – O S vs. Perewits LONG & LOW – we all know how that turned out. Like I said – Timeless, nuf said.

Anyone who thinks its sad must be one of those dumb asses who think that just because you get some Tattoos, put on a black T-shirt, dickhead bandanas and ride a bike that it makes them a bad ass…. NO!!!!! it just makes you look like an ASS!!!!!!! The contest was for the HOTTEST BIKE YOU FUCKING IDIOTS !!!!!!! Is this all Jessie can remember about building bikes. NOW THAT’S WHAT’S SAD!!!!!!! Nice way to bring a bike from like 15 years ago. Just like all of your old ass machines you need to come with some new shit……. Dam!!! I use to like that dude.

  297. 297 Free Rick Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:18 pm

It’s sad that Rick seems to have no say in the build when he’s the on who’s got most of the talent. He even asked “is it technically a motorcycle?” Dimwit Jason answers “the theory behind it, is that it would be an occ flamethrower (what? you numbskull)

They messed up the cadillac build, they should have said, hey rick how about this time you design the bike. Since they have nothing to loose, rick is pretty popular, it would have pulled in votes. Bunch of morons.

  298. 298 Bono Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:20 pm

You gotta give Senior some credit for trying out something other than what they have in their production. That being said a bike build off is not the right place to enter that vehicle. You can see how uncomfortable senior is riding that, he should have ridden that thing in a sitting position, would have looked cool, then again it would look like the gow-3 trike.
Jesse’s so adamant that he doesn’t do “theme” bikes that it came out boring and lacking in the fabrication department. It was funny when they shot him riding it and he always had to look at the side cause hes made the seat so low and his handle bars so high. Some people pointed out that his’ bike was the only ride-able bike among the 3 but seeing as to how he rode it begs me to differ.
PJD is a design company by nature so having no “theme” would be hard for them. So they had to have a it and the aviation theme was used. I think I saw an old episode of occ where they used rivettings on their build so that wasn’t totally original (1st time i saw the pics i went ugh, those again?) I was a bit disappointed at 1st. Then saw it in action, the exhaust on the gas tank and how it smoked like a real plane, the wheels like in the plane, the color combinations (chrome to copper?) it grew in to me. It was the best among the 3 but certainly not PJD’s best.
Overall PJD wins, Senior whines and Jesse is cursing and is giving us the finger for voting PJD.

  299. 299 Jay Dec 7th, 2011 at 12:17 am

Jason poole shuold have is a#$ kick for that design and some of his pass designs OCC get smart and give Rick more input on designs. For a bike build off he was way off. Poole should just stick to the ass kissing he’s better at it.

  300. 300 Travis Dec 7th, 2011 at 1:34 am

The contest rules should have stated you had to ride the bikes to the contest to be valid, other wise they should have had some yahoo carve a bike out of brazilian walnut and entered. It would have looked cool but worthless as sh**.

  301. 301 Shane Dec 7th, 2011 at 1:36 am

For all you sell-outs who think JJ is the s^!*, Remember, he started all the media whore crap with his WEST COAST CHOPPERS show. So shut up about Jr & Sr being no more then assemblers.
Did you watch the show? what did JJ do that the others missed. Everybody uses somebody for parts.
Did you eat dinner at home, a HOME COOKED MEAL for the elietists, well did you grow all of it, create the herbs from your own garden, raise the meat product; NO, well then just how home cooked is that idiot!
I am guessing you are a builder of bikes, have you ever even tried or would your old lady not let you.
Then sit down and shut up, you are embarrissing your family.

  302. 302 Bluesmeister Dec 7th, 2011 at 2:04 am

Ok, I just watched the build-off show. Paul Jr. is still a class act. He refers to his competition as “people” and puts no one down, whereas JJ refers to the Teutels collectively as jokers and even worse ‘bleeped’ names. still acting like a 12 year old… Paul Sr. doesn’t deserve any relationship with a son who he obviously enjoyed blowing up in effigy (and maybe subconsciously blowing up Mikey at the same time since they chose his old car to blow up?). Sr. has apparently completely lost it and doesn’t even deserve acknowledgement from Paul Jr. or Mikey that he even exists at this point IMO. If I were Paul Jr. I’d seriously consider legally changing my name. Too bad he’s already got a name brand.

And JJ finally admitting his ego got in the way and realized he needs a team to build a bike just like everyone else, but then he says (to paraphrase), “it’s like a great like feeling to like have like everybody like rally around something and like get it like done and like it feels good that they like kinda have faith in “ME” and like that ‘I’ could do it. What a great group of guys” Yeah a great group of guys that jst pulled your ass out of likely not making this build at all and that’s the thanks they get? That “I” (JJ) could do it??? Looks like your ego’s back in full force.

And yo Sr., don’t ask people to vote on ‘your’ bike. First of all it’s a fucking poor excuse even for a snowmobile let alone a bike, and maybe you own it but you didn’t do a f #%ng thing on it as far as I was able to see, and that Jason tool, uh I mean Poole should be uh fired for all the uh crap he uh puts Rick through building puke-ass uh shit. Of course if Rick finally uh left you’d uh have no one to uh make uh “drawrings” for your uh bikes or uh anything uh else that uh you uh might uh be asked to uh build. As for the “drawrings”, I swear the only thing more rediculous looking than what comes out of that tool’s CAD is the tool himself. Can’t stand that idiot.

I know… let’s have a vote on whether JJ says “like” more than Sr. says “uh” between like uh every other word. Probably end up a draw. Meanwhile Paul Jr. remains a class act who can fabricate a frame from scratch and out-design the tool’s CAA and JJ’s outdated ass crap any day of the week and outclass all of them put together.

I hope JJ and Sr. have good Chiropractors for after riding those ridiculous backbreakers they built even for 10 minutes on those pieces of crap. Oh wait, JJ and Sr. didn’t build them, some teams did, but that didn’t stop them from taking all the credit. Unlike Paul Jr. who gave his team credit for the build and his fans credit for their support. PJD damned sure gets my vote.

Yeah it’s a long freakin’ post, but one last thing…Rick get the hell out of that place man and go build something from the heart!

  303. 303 Dee Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:22 am

Jesse James is king…….Shame on the discovery channel for setting up a joke build off, so Jr. would win and get publicity. Lost a little respect for discovery channel. All planned out for the show.

Congratulation Paul Jr. Very nice bike. And you did right to not play J.J.’s game. Always remember that arguing with a fool is two fools arguing. After last night’s display Jesse James probably elevated himself from ” America’s Most Hated Man” to the most hated man on Earth! And by the way J.J. in case you haven’t noticed, we are in the 21st. century.

  309. 309 RT Dec 7th, 2011 at 2:19 pm

There you have it, the best bike won and obviously the better man. jj showed his true colors running his pussy ass mouth till the end, really made a fool of himself I hope he watches the rerun. jj is out hand with his bad ass talk, who does he think hes scaring, I would have whipped his ass. ALL of his bikes look the same just different colors and that ugly huge opening between engine and front on all of his junk, maybe he just pulled out one of his dissatisfied customer returned bikes and repainted it. This was show bike competition, who cares if you dont ride it across the country, thats why they make Electra Glides. He talked about the other guys TV shows, did he forget about the money he made from his. Hypocrite is what we call that. I didnt like him that much before, now Ill be sure not to watch anything hes on. By the looks of his bike building tastes he needs to chop rice burners and his outdated look will look at home.Way to go JR and poor old SR is evidently out for a military or Alaskan contract. Whats your excuse for loosing jj it was in your neck of the woods too. I guess he didnt get enough of his fans to show up. Next time, if you ever get the chance after your train wreck, maybe just shut the f–k up punk boy. JR really put you in your place, LOSER.

I like the way Jesse exposed the Paulies theme bikes as real overpriced crap you can’t ride. Why are the Paulies so afraid of Jesse. Have some balls and stick up for yourself you lame cowards. I like both Paulies . The father built himself up from nothing ,and his son is talented too… But please have a backbone ..

  312. 312 RMA Dec 7th, 2011 at 3:50 pm

Well Sr. built a snowmachine, they should not let Jason design bikes, he really has no talent and knowledge of bikes. Jessie built a chopper like the multitude that are on the streets everyday in America, no imagination or creativity, it really looked like an old chopper. Jr. actually put thought into the theme and built a classy tribute bike. Jr deserved to win.

  313. 313 billyboy Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:00 pm

I’m reading comments about how occ and pjd are assemblers and not fabricaters, so I must have missed something when whatching those guys building gas tanks, fenders and seat pans. They don’t build frames although I guess now days occ does, but all else aside, they fill a niche and make a nice living building to the buiness community for advertising purposes. Sounds to me like JJ is a little Jealous of their noteriety. I must say that betweent the three, if the contest were to see who could be the most ignorant sounding arrogant, poor excuse for a human being, then Jesse would certainly win hands down.

  314. 314 The Red Baron Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:49 pm

Jason Pool = Ginormous Douche Bag. lets make a track vehicle…Duh… I feel bad,.. Ric, poor guy he needs to go to PJD where he will be appreciated for his talent. not like the whipping boy he is at OCC

if Ric designed the Bike they would of beat Jesse for sure. Congrats to PJD for another awesome bike.

  315. 315 frantic009 Dec 8th, 2011 at 9:58 am

I thought jrs. bike was the ugglyest one he ever built it was a work of art but not one u could ride.besides most of his bikes r the same just someother corporate. Sponsored pile of unridable crap.

  316. 316 g Dec 8th, 2011 at 7:56 pm

Funny how Jesse feels the need to trash Paul Sr & Paul Jr

Saying he could and would be building his Bike By Himself

Clearly he didnt build the bike on his own as he said he would do this alone shows Jesse is all talk

Out of the 3 I Still think Paul Jr is the best at what he does.

Jesse Didn’t and couldn’t build the bike on his own and has always had others helping him on his builds.

Paul Sr Didn’t and couldn’t build the bike on his own and has always had others helping him on his builds.

Paul Jr Didn’t and couldn’t build the bike on his own and has always had others helping him on his builds how ever he doesn’t say he will or does he at any time brag he could do a build on his own that alone shows Paul Jr is the better person.

  317. 317 mikey Dec 9th, 2011 at 11:30 am

funny how jesse “has” and still can build a bike buy himself even though he needed help this time around. has in the past and probably will sometime again. shows how much some of you know about the chopper world. paul jr has never built a frame by himself with out having the “frame builder” come to the shop and do it in house. thats not builing a frame yourself. wake up people

  318. 318 Chris Dec 10th, 2011 at 11:21 am

The bottom line is…3 people competed..3 personalities..only 1 won. The one with the most talent..The one with the best manners…The one with the best team. END OF STORY!

  319. 319 fool Dec 10th, 2011 at 11:26 pm

Dude it’s just dumb to build your own frame when it’s available in the market. It cost time and energy and that’s just not good business. I saw some build off and guys like billy lane buys frames and just modifies them. In the end it’s not how you get there that counts, it’s the end product. I’m a rider for 25 years and I would not ride Jesse james bike for 10 miles, it’s just stupidly built.

  320. 320 rick Dec 10th, 2011 at 11:32 pm

Such a big deal with this building the bike from the frame up, ANYONE can build a frame, why do you think it can be ordered? It’s the “chopping” or the design and creative concept that’s important.

  321. 321 Dan Dec 28th, 2011 at 2:55 pm

JJ talks like like a real Calf.nob. He builds a nice bike but runs his mouth better than he builds! He should take some Viagra all of those yrs on a bike with a small seat must have shrunk him, he can’t keep a women. Maybe he has to much ink and gas in his mud vein…haha

  322. 322 nicker Jan 3rd, 2012 at 10:04 pm

“…Funny how Jesse feels the need to trash Paul Sr & Paul Jr…”

Probably instigated by the TV crew, may not have been JJ’s idea at all.

A member of my immediate tribe was on a Discovery show about rockets.
They did everything to get him to “trash-talk” the competition.
He told-em no way, “the dude is a friend of mine.”
But he said they kept trying to generate drama, they wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.
Could be Discovery are the “no class a-holes”….???
