Sturgis Museum Day Is August 5, 2011

During the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, The Charlie Brechtel Band with special guest Dan Lawson will be rocking the Wolfman Jack Stage to draw attention to a custom motorcycle raffle to benefit the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. “Last year, when I was at the Hall of Fame Breakfast I heard the museum was out of space and cannot hold any more motorcycle history.  I knew in my heart this was unacceptable,” Charlie said.  “So I made a phone call to Woody (Buffalo Chip Campground owner) and ran down my idea to help raise money to put up another building. The history of our lifestyle needs to keep rollin’ on. Woody, who is also a lover of the motorcycle culture and a board member of the museum, quickly agreed that something had to be done.  So they came up with the idea  called ‘Sturgis Museum Night’ where they will combine Dan Lawson with The Charlie Brechtel Band and headliner Edgar Winter.  In conjunction with the great music that will be on stage they will be showcasing some of the original Sturgis Hall of Fame Freedom Fighters like Tony Pan (the 1st freedom fighter to ever be inducted to the hall of fame) and Bikerrogue (John Herlihy).

The bike, built by Danny Ray LaJocies from Danny Ray’s Precision Cycles in Modesto, Ca., will be a one-of-a-kind V-twin custom, that will be on display at the Chip throughout the rally, and will be autographed by Buffalo Chip celebrities. Raffle tickets will be available from the Sturgis Museum and the Buffalo Chip for $10 each and three for $25. They will be available all year and the winner will be drawn at the Buffalo Chip on the last day of the 2012 rally. A drawing will also be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 of this year’s rally for a Stagg guitar, donated by Dan Lawson which is currently being autographed by celebrities in Los Angeles and will be at the Chip throughout the week. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the museum. More information are available at Buffalo Chip or by calling 605-347-9000 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. MDT, Monday through Friday.

It looks like the bike they are building is using one of the frames from http://www.texasbikeworks.com/index.html . Those are killer and would love to have one.
