Harley-Davidson has just launched The Ridebook, a curated selection of editorial submissions from independent filmmakers, writers and photographers. Together they form an interactive introduction to the culture of Harley-Davidson in the 21st century, for new and existing riders alike.
Tomcats Barbershop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. American hairstyles meet American motorcycles. Tomcats is known for his haircuts but also known for the several Harley-Davidson motorcycles constantly parked upfront. Curated by Relic.
Haha, makes me think of that famous “Ambercrombie Davidson” shirt I’ve seen around. =)
Nice angle on the culture. Entertaining.
I wonder if Indian Larry or any of the Gasoline Alley guys ever went there?
Good barber shop ad. The way it was when I was a little guy. Kudos.
HD = American muscle car on two wheels ! Let me catch my breath.
Very cool,bygone era….All the best!!
Beautifully done video. More power to these guys!
Kurt – Great work on your site.
While I can appreciate people like these fashion statements, but come on Bikers? The first time you don the old skid lid all that hair oil will stick to the lining. My missus complains about helmet hair after she wastes money in the hairdressers than gets on her bike! I’ll stick to the good old fashioned (maybe it will become old school) long hair. LOL
Haircuts ‘n Helmets! Don’t believe in either one of ’em! Neither did Indian Larry, he went out doin’ what he loved with Freedom as his base. I’ve gotten one haircut since 1974 ‘an that wuz a mistake [felt like a dog with his ass shaved!]. Let it fly in the breeze! Ya know where Samson got his STRENGTH don’t ya? Till that bitch Delieya gave him a snip job, went ta hell after that, turned him into everyone else [his demise!]. Nope, the only choppers around me I ride! Yuk-Yuk!! Wiz
I can smell the stench of new leather from here. I bet there’s a Starbucks next door.
Love the 40s to 50s hairstyles for myself. I’m a throwback. Not all bikers are pigeonholed into looking like a Dave Mann painting. It’s what you want to be. For me, the 40s to 50s Knuckle and Pan go together with the haircut look. Loved the video.
Greenpoint, very artsy fartsy yuppies….they killed that neighborhood with all the high rise condos…………
hipsters.
men get haircuts in Oceanside for $2.00
Might nip in for a buzzcut.
