Thunderbike R-Odynamic. German Performance Genes.

Thunderbike Germany is one of the 3 european official Harley-Davidson dealers leaning the most towards custom work. Not only using genuine Harley parts, but also their own proprietary line of after-market parts for V-Rod, Softail, Dyna and Touring models and yes, also for metric bikes, mainly Suzuki and Yamaha, 2 brands extremely popular on the old continent. The lead creative mind behind Thunderbike is owner Andreas Bergerforth, an household name all over Europe and whose reputation in the custom industry was acquired in stealing the gold in bike shows to the most prominent other American and European custom builders. His work goes from Bobbers to Choppers to radical Free Style, but always with 2 common elements: the bikes must remain road legal and are always performance oriented.

The latest Thunderbike creation is called R-Odynamic, is using Harley-Davidson Screamin´Eagle 110″ motor and is based on their own extremely popular TUV approved RS Dragster frame using 1 1/4” diameter cold rolled ST52 steel tubing with meticulous detail in machining and welding. Suspension is provided in the rear via their proprietary single sided swingarm and working with an air ride system. Front suspension is a complete one-off front end created for this project. Both Wheels are Thunderbike Vegas model powdercoated, rim/hub/spokes in striking white 4.50 x 23″ and 9 x 21″ respectively wrapped in rubber 130/60/-3 and 260/35-21.

Almost all other parts used are also from the Thunderbike Catalog (gas tank, fenders, black V-Tech controls, license plate, etc) except the black short staggered exhaust sourced at Vances And Hines. Paint job is by Ingo Kruse from Kruse Design, whose top reputation in Europe was acquired through 2 other Thunderbike big show winners, “Open Mind” & “Spectacula”.     The motorcycle business doesn’t change even if you come from old continent, companies still rob idea’s and inventions. We use to sell to Thunderbike and now they say they have there own air-suspension front and rear. They still advertise Tricky Air in the website and I wonder where they got the idea for there air-springer surely not from staring at are “Air-Springer” at the V-twin show 3 years ago. Just because you have money and CNC machines it doesn’t give you the right!

    Beautiful bike. Great lines and from what Tricky said; a conglomeration of ideas.

    I like seeing the pic’s of these ground sitting bikes in their lower position but it would be even better if there were a couple with them in the raised and riding position.

    There’s no way the front has any movement as it sits. Are the forks air over springs?

    What a beautiful Bike. Every detail is absolutely show stopper workmanship. These Bikes are all unbelievable. The German’s have learned.watched and engineered what the Best Builders of America designed. The German’s, Japenese and even the French have used the Best piece of equipment to duplicate what American Builders have done for years, I have always found that your best bet for duplication and enfringement is a Patent Mr. Trickey

    like that a lot ,clean build .

    not sure how much i like the paint with all the words on it ,and the checker stuff .But thats cosmetic taste. I love the rear perimeter rotor and the fact they went with twin fronts on radial mounts .Nice stuff

    Really cool bike! The first time i saw one of Thunderbike’s bikes at a bikeshow,was a beautiful rustbrown one,with an air sprung front fork,that was in 2007,if i ever win the lotto,that’s what i’ll be buying first thing!!

    Love the Build and single sided Swing Arm on a V=Twin with all the Torque makes a lot of confidence in the Build and the Ride. This Bike is worthy of having the Babe lay all over the Bike and having her pose with the Build. She is a First Class Model and she is a Pro that they hired to Merchandise their Builds.These Krauts are serious about all they do. That gorgeous Model is not anyone of the Mechanic’s Wife or the Salesman’s Girlfriend. They go first class. Look at all their Bikes, perfect.

    You are absolutely right it does suck big time when someone takes your ideas and builds a company around that idea. But Bigalyts is right your best protection is a patent but only if you are willing to protect that patent by taking would be infringers to court. If you have a patent on your front end design you should sue but if you did not bother to go through the patent process there is nothing you can do about people or companies copying your work. This industry as well as every other industry is full of those that find it easier to take someone elses ideas than it is to come up with their own. Like I said if you have a patent then take those that have infringed it to court and I hope your patent was written well enough to hold up. And if you did not patent your idea let that be a lesson that you can learn from don’t ever bring out an idea with out protecting it first. Good Luck I hope everything works out well for you. This industry needs guys like you that do have a creative mind. But always remember there are many people in every industry just watching for someone like you to design the next great idea and they are all hoping that you don’t get that idea patented so that they can legally take your idea and run with it.

    There is a big difference between US patent and International patents.

    To answer Dan’s comment about the Autobahn, I personal have ridden our drag Busa to 170MPH and if you pay for the shipping, I will ride our bagger (Front/rear air-suspension) on the Autobahn.
