Exclusive Jesse James Interview About His American Chopper Three-Way Build-Off With the Teutuls

Jesse James, Paul Junior and Senior duel in the ultimate TV build-off on the Discovery Channel and you are about to decide who is the best builder. In advance of the 2-day TV event (Episode “Chopper Finale” December 5 at 9 pm when the 3 customs will be revealed, Episode “Chopper Live” December 6 at 9 pm to vote and see the winner), Jesse James took some time to answer my questions…ramping-up the smack talk against the Teutuls… A couple of revelations, too.

Cyril. Although I can’t show pictures of your bike before  Monday’s and Tuesday’s episodes, can you explain to my readers your approach for this build-off, what type of bike did you build. Jesse. I just wanted to build a bike purely for myself. I wanted a style and materials that “I” want. At the end of the day I’m keeping this fucker, so I might as well do something that I will dig.

Cyril. How much help did you get? Jesse. Ha! The only real help I had was unloading the truck of raw material coming in the door of the shop. Really I had Bacon with me the whole time helping run parts and this and that. Which I could not have done without him. Jeff Decker and Cole Foster also stopped by for a couple days to help out. It was so great doing this with my friends.

Cyril. Do you think that the bikes you build today are very different from the ones you were known for years ago? Which way? Jesse. I think this is a big step out of my comfort zone. It’s leaner and meaner and uses a lot of materials and skills that I have been afraid to work with in the past. Mostly because I wasn’t that good at working with them. I think I needed to push myself on this build. Just to prove that I can do what I do from my new shop at home. 17 years of having the power and resources of West Coast Choppers in my back pocket. Now that is all gone. Time for me to prove that I was really the driving force behind all of it. I have to admit I was a bit nervous hanging it all out there on my own.

Cyril. Do you have a personal and/or professional gripe with those 2? Jesse. I doubt if I would piss on either one if they were on fire :- )

Cyril. Would you hire any of them in your Austin shop? To do what? Jesse. Absolutely Not. I have 19 y.o. kids at my Austin Speed Shop that would work circles around any one of them…

Cyril. Your definition of a great custom motorcycle? Jesse. Frame, Motor, Trans, Small tank, Brakes and lots of Love. Minus a reference point.

Cyril. Do you think it’s possible that one of them, or both, surprise you with a bike your really like? Jesse. I really wish and hope one of them would build something Bad Ass. Something I would tip my hat too. Sadly I think we all know it will just be more of the same. They really want to beat me so they will be emptying the parts room. Welding as many wings, and scoops, and fins as possible.

Cyril. It seems that it will be a popularity contest more than anything else. Can a bad boy get more votes than 2 “family men”? Jesse. Yeah, Jr. started trying to mooch votes and couple weeks ago. Pretty Lame. I have an idea! How about we show people the bikes first, then ask them to vote.

Cyril. There are ultimately 2 possibilities for you. Tell me why you will win? Why you could lose? Jesse. I think there are actually 3. I think this is my chance to remind people what I really do. I think there is a large amount of people that think I’m famous just because I married a Hollywood actress. I really hope to show people that since Monster Garage ended that I have done nothing but devote myself to my skills. I really think that I am 100 times better now. I hope people see this and that I inspire them to follow their passion like I have.

Cyril. Does the result really matter to you? Jesse. I’d love to win, but if I don’t it will not change my feelings about my bike, not even 1%. It’s a Bad Motherfucker, and I love it!

Cyril. With the result of this competition, is  your return on the Discovery Channel with your own show on the line? Jesse. We start filming an All New Series in January for the Discovery Channel.

Cyril. What kind of TV show you prefer to have? Building? Teaching? Entertaining? Jesse. Bigger Better Monster Garage, Time to Put Discovery on the map again and cut a new Groove in Television.

Cyril. great questions. Jesse, great answers. We still have 2 intelligent guys supporting the industry!

  2. 2 Brett Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:14 am

Monday, it’s gonna be very interesting…

  3. 3 Rich Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:18 am

I look forward to seeing the bikes, and I have no doubt that Jesse’s will blow away the other two. Unfortunately, however, since it will be voted on by the general public, it will probably be a popularity contest and Paul Jr. will win. I hope I’m wrong about that.

  4. 4 Kate Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:24 am

AWESOME READ ! Jesse James talking about bike building is always interesting !! Cable TV will be worth the money again, when his new show airs..Thanks & see ya in VEGAS !!

  5. 5 Otis Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:28 am

Jesse’s got style, talent, and he’s lived the lifestyle. He’s got my vote!

  6. 6 Shifter Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:28 am

Best interview and great news with Jesse back on Discovery in 2012. Will it help the industry? Hope so.

  7. 7 Richard Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:35 am

Both of them, Jesse and Cyril, understand very well media power. Winning or losing, Jesse is the winner of this show biz confrontation. Hope that after this build-off Discovery execs sack the Teutuls. Independent shops should benefit from a switch from the Teutuls to JJ..

  8. 8 chopmonster66 Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:36 am

Great interview Cyril , and great ansewers from Jesse . i have not dought that Jesse;s bike will be better . and should win , but you know how the public is . put a flahy paint job and a bunch of shinney shit and most people think it is the best thing sence sliced bread. but it is the love and detication to your craft that you can see in the work that realy matters . Good luck Jesse . you got my vote……

  9. 9 Kurt Finley Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:37 am

Cyril. Did you see Jesse’s bike? Are you going to publish?

  10. 10 steveb Dec 2nd, 2011 at 9:40 am

Strip the chest beating, table thumping and competitive smack talk out of it and JJ has some good things to say.
I am looking forward to seeing this new machine and to having him “back” in the game – he is a fantastic bike designer & fabricator, and our VTwin world is richer for having him in it.

  11. 11 Rob Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:02 am

Jesse is the man ! A real craftsman “old school”. The only way to build a real bike is with your own hands and not with parts anyone can buy. Hand made parts! without the use of a water jet “generic” . Ive always respected jesse as a” welder/ fabricator ” first. Would love to work with jesse on a custom build. Kick ass as always jesse . Rob @ symmetrycustoms

  12. 12 Mark Pavlica Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:04 am

I may have inspired a question. No?

  13. 13 Tom Hodkin Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:04 am

I really liked jessy when he was first on TV he had passion and same goes for occ They all suffer from celibrity. They have 1000s of people telling them they are the best thing sence sliced bread, and after a wile they start beliving it.They are just three lucky guys that discovey channel decided to make famous. discovery can make a idiot look good. Only the history channel makes idiots look like idiots ( Gold Rush )

  14. 14 Steeltown Choppers Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:30 am

Jesse James is a far better builder than those at occ and jr designs. Jesse has contributed to the biker lifestyle, the custom culture lifestyle and he has paved the way in innovation and fabrication skills and quality within the bike building world. Add all that to him being quite a cool an bad ass fella, I think it would be a shame and an insult to the building community if he doesn’t take first place! He has to win and if he doesn’t it was a joke. THEY ALL SHOULD BE JUDGED BY THEIR PIERS AND NOT BY THE PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESSE JAMES TO WIN IS THE VOTE BY STEELTOWN CHOPPERS!

  15. 15 DJ Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:43 am

Can not wait for the new show… That is the best news to come out of this whole thing.

  16. 16 GG "Chopper Para La Vida" France Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:51 am

From more than 17 years … Jesse insufflated a new current and everybody can thank’s him for the chopper revival spirit … again and again … Jesse, you have innovative and awesome ideas … never stop building !
Thank’s for all your work my friend !

  17. 17 Justin Whitney Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:53 am

Good article…..They should reveal the bikes but not tell us who built each one, open the vote, get the results, then tell us who built each one. This the way the best bike wins, not the most popular TV personality. Doesn’t matter anyway, I doubt JJ worries about his popularity, he is more concernced with building a better bike.

  18. 18 tommyboy Dec 2nd, 2011 at 10:57 am

If Jesse doesn’t win?? ALL HE HAS TO DO IS YELL AT SOME ONE AND START BREAKIN SHIT. AND HAVE SOME DUMB ASS LIKE MIKEY TEUTUL STAND AROUND AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

  19. 19 Woody Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:01 am

Great interview. I don’t think it will really matter who wins the actual vote, any more than it matters to most people that a jury found OJ innocent. We’ll get to see 3 bikes, (and more importantly how they were made) and decide for ourselves what we dig the most. The rest is all static. Haven’t watches American Chopper for years but they have my attention with this contest. Gotta admit-I’ll be watching!

  20. 20 DJ Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:05 am

    Justin..
The flaw in that logic is that everyone can tell who built what bike. I can’t say fore sure what each of them will build, but I will bet everything I own and my ol’ lady that I could tell you who’s was who’s

  21. 21 Mike Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:06 am

Bigger better Monster Garage are you kidding me?!?! I can’t wait!!! Great interview I have been dying to see a build off between Jesse and the OCC clowns for 10 years….Glad to see Jesse back!

  22. 22 Seymour Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:06 am

OMG I discontinued my cable TV! Now what am I going to do! Oh wait, now I’ll automatically get more intelligent. OK!

  23. 23 bigalyts Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:08 am

Cyril, Good questions, except the one’s that, you did not ask him about what he is doing about his major personal Issues. I am pretty sure anyone that is emotionally unstable as Jessie, or any other Addict that is in denial will be functioning and handicapped. I don’t mean that JJ forgot how to build or has lost any of his ability to build. I am just stating a fact that is or will be evident in many parts of his life. I am sure his Bike will be Grandiose. I believe that he thinks that it will over the top of anything he has built in the past. I really believe that He is building the Bike for himself. These thoughts are all part of his Issues. I think that much of the Contest will be Judged on popularity, as in many Build Offs. I am sure that Jr. and Senior will be on their Best Built Behavior, as in every Bike they Build is in one way or another better than their “Favorite or Emotional” best ever. I don’t think Discovery can produce a winner every week, when the show sucks. The Public catches on after a while. This Build Off will be watched and viewed by People like us. My Mother doesn’t know about the event and has not even heard about this HUGE EVENT. Hmmmmmm! I wonder why, that even My Mother’s Crew doesn’t even know about the Show.?!%%#@?

  24. 24 Nick Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:12 am

    Great interview.
There is no contest of skills.
I will admit that Paul Jr. may have some talent however not even close to the Class of Jesse .
I’ve know Jesse since the beginning. He was cool, talented, intelligent a straight shooter and approachable.
His bikes are built from the ground up not ordered from a book.
Just mentioning Jeff Decker & Cole Foster shows the type of individuals and level of respect Jesse has in the custom world not just the bike community.

All the shows Bike shows are and were there because of Jesse not because of O C C.

The the Old man was an A____h___ from the beginning .
The old man represents everything uncool about the human element.

Without Jesse bring all of us to the forefront, and of course our own individual talent and efforts this blog and most of our business would not exist.
    I’m with Steeltown Choppers.
It has been enough of an insult to listen to customers say you do what they do, (OCC)
it would be a shame and an insult to the building community if he doesn’t take first place!
But since America is voting anything can happen I am sure Jesse will represent at the highest level of the industry.

We the bike building community have been building bikes that are riders, parts don’t fall off.
    Not high end Infomercials.

  25. 25 Caro Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:12 am

Yes, it was a great interview and I like the way how Jesse thinks about the result of this competition. I think it’s not really important if he wins. It’s important that he will return on tv .
That’s a pitty that I cannot watrch tne show :o(((

  26. 26 Kate Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:14 am

@bigalyts Dude, Jesse’s an unstable junkie? what interview did you just read?

  27. 27 2Low Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:22 am

Interesting and unusual questions lead to good answers from Jesse. I learn a little bit more about him. Thanks.

  28. 28 FHP Scott Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:26 am

can’t wait to see the bike….

  29. 29 Top Cat Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:27 am

It is good to see Jesse back. I think the time away and the lessons learned in life always transition an artists view of what they create and what “Matters”. As far as addictions and personal issues it quite frankly is none of my damn business. Those inside the business now the stories and the history but throughout history almost every person who impacted the world through creativity had some major issue, kind of goes with the turf. Considering how little T.V. has to offer on motorcycles my overall opinion is the more shows that represent motorcycling to a general audience and produce some kind of “cool” factor helps all of us in the bizz……

  30. 30 Kirk Perry Dec 2nd, 2011 at 11:32 am

The guy over uses “fuck” and “motherfucker”…… intelligent…. or what?….. not.

Excuse me, I mean “motherfucking not”.

Still this build and all T.V. builds insist on using the unaesthetic, p.o.s., block head motor, and that in itself puts a limit on the visual impact.

I tell you what……. I’ll build God’s knuckle-glide (the one he rode in on) on retiree’s fixed-income, from a lousy $884.00 social security (of my contributed money) and it will look more deadly than anything you big budget “welders” can, because with only a couple bong hits of “Girl Scout Cookies” high altitude weed, I can channel whispered help from all the great designers of the past. You dawn think so? We’ll see about that. Your outnumbered. 🙂

  31. 31 Dennis Dec 2nd, 2011 at 12:01 pm

Junior and Senior are to the bike building world what All Star Wrestling is to the sports world. Jesse is the real deal and a professional level fabricator and designer regardless of what ever plot line is orchestrated for this show by the execs and advertisment guys.

  32. 32 Ray Dec 2nd, 2011 at 12:09 pm

Come on Cyril. Show us his bike.

  33. 33 michael Dec 2nd, 2011 at 12:35 pm

All of us in the motorcycle industry know that OCC has and will always make their money from merchandising, advertising and endorsements. The little building they do has always been theme or show bikes and resembles art more than anything else. Of course they have to have some talent to do what they do, but not enough for a head-to-head contest. But–the general public is running to the light like moths and they are all running to the bank to cash the checks. I agree JJ has his problems, but he is normal in person and a skilled craftsman.

  34. 34 Joe Phillipson Dec 2nd, 2011 at 12:52 pm

These three guys have helped our industry a lot. Even though Jessie is an arrogant jerk (only met him once and that was enough) and blew the best thing he ever had going for him, Sandra. I thought he may come down to earth after the marriage but I guess not. He has that self destructive personality, like not abiding by contracts he signed etc. I know shops who have worked on every bike he built and they all say they were junk. I don’t know if this is true or not, just sayin. Who cares if he has another show or not or even wins or not. I have met both Sr. and Jr. and they are really nice guys. All the yelling is for the cameras and to create interest. After saying this I have to say we in the industry owe all 3 guys a lot for keeping the interest going and hopefully bringing in some younger people into our market.

  35. 35 Guy Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Best of luck Jessie, we in the UK know yours will be the better bike. Jessies skill v the Tuttles parts bin spesial.

  36. 36 DJ Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:12 pm

To say that OCC or PJD are builders is like saying Justin Bieber or Brittiny Spears are musicians… Just cause you got a record deal and have made your bones don’t entitle you to calling yourself a musician. You can’t put them in the same catagory with the likes of BB King or Eric Clapton. Lets be real. If it was not for Discovery OCC would not have got off the ground ergo PJD would not exist. JJ was up and running before Discovery and would likely still be going. Don’t forget that OCC was a product of Discovery. Their first “Theme Bike”{the jet bike} was built on TV and it all started from that. OCC and PJD are basically the “American Idol” of this industry.

  37. 37 Skins Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:42 pm

The ones who “GET IT” know Jesse’s the winner before even showing the Bikes. I’m so tired of the OCC Drama BS. The show was cancelled once but the Clowns had to use family drama BS to get it running again. It’s like watching Soap operas. When the show is done they will be too. Jr. wouldnt even be around if it wasn’t for the show to start up again. This will be the 1st time in a long time I will watch the show ONLY because of Jesse… When Jesse’s new show airs on Discovery? Then i’ll be back to watching Discovery Channel!

  38. 38 RoadieWingZ Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:48 pm

Jesse is yesterdays news. He helped launch the interest in custom builds, but is like the aging dad that tries to compare his glory days of high school football to his son’s accomplishments. The old man and jr owe JJ some credit, but he needs to gracefully fade into the sunset and recognize his best days are in the past.

  39. 39 Montez Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:50 pm

My bet is that Paul Jr. will try and pull a Mike Brown (Amen Motorcycles) move. When Mike brown went against Billy Lane on Biker Build Off, he pulled a complete 180 from his normal builds to buils something more along the line of a Choppers Inc style bike. I am curious to see if this is what PJD will do in attempts to trick JJ fans into voting for him. Even still, copies are never as good as the original, and true fans (not soccer moms and wanna be riders) will no who’s is who’s.

  40. 40 Rodder Dec 2nd, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Smack talk is marketing. Don’t you understand? And Cyril giving a loud voice to Jesse is also doing marketing. Fair game.

  41. 41 courtney Dec 2nd, 2011 at 2:04 pm

I look forward to his own show next year, but I also look forward to this so-called build-off coming up next week.

Don’t know if it’s too late to incorporate this idea or not, but if JJ were to fabricate a 5-gallon Douche Bag for his gas tank he’d definitely take First Place, hands down.

  42. 42 brew Dec 2nd, 2011 at 2:20 pm

I betcha paulie brings another spider bike! This no matter what happens is good for the industry. Hope Discovery gets huge numbers who are watching the show and maybe more shows will spawn off!!

  43. 43 brew Dec 2nd, 2011 at 2:21 pm

It is really nice to see Bacon getting some recognition also!

  44. 44 burnout Dec 2nd, 2011 at 3:02 pm

I am only watching the show because JJ is gonna be on it. My vote probably won’t matter. Television A L W A Y S disappoints me! peace

lol I’m with you, Kirk. I predict there will be wheels, and engines and a trans and and oil tank and gas tank. Anything beyond that will be the things I’ll be looking at.

  46. 46 Wiskybilt Dec 2nd, 2011 at 4:05 pm

JJ is one of the best bike fabricaters out there, or used to be. I hope he brings some new skills with the blacksmithing and all. I hope most of all that his new show gets down to business and isn’t a bloated joke like the MOnster Garage Books they put out, knowing that people would think they were getting real know-how books and what a rip off they were.

  47. 47 john Dec 2nd, 2011 at 4:56 pm

i have personaly have me with jesse and the other two guys i have not i have tried to get them to do bussiness with me and they wont return my calls

by far jesse is a better person to work or be around u dont have to pay for him like u do with the other two

  48. 48 Heavy Metal Dec 2nd, 2011 at 4:56 pm

I know I will like Jesse’s bike. I’m sure it will be raw and ready. I’m tired of anything the Turtle’s are involved with.

  49. 49 Jeremy Jasper Dec 2nd, 2011 at 5:39 pm

I bet you ride a Goldwing…powder blue maybe? HAHAHAHA!

  50. 50 The Supreme Team Dec 2nd, 2011 at 5:54 pm

Mission accomplished Jesse….got everybody talking and buzzing about it…like Ali before a match.

  51. 51 chicagojohn Dec 2nd, 2011 at 6:04 pm

Jesse, love your style, and your attitude. we all know your bike will smoke anything the teutels can throw together. glad your back. p.s. maybe i’ll have to go out and get myself one of those fancy flat tvs now, shit!

  52. 52 UnkownRider Dec 2nd, 2011 at 6:39 pm

I will give you my 2 cents. JJ will be able to fabricate and build everything on the bike. The other two will waterjet, and buy parts to put on the bike and have there payed minions put it together. So by that definition only one is a fabricator/ designer so only one could really win. I have rode down to the old WCC shop in Long Beach what seems like hundreds of times. He was always what you see no act. not a different person for the cameras, a genuine biker, not a fair weather trailerpulling biker, build it put 500 miles on it. Just my opinion.

  53. 53 Sam Dec 2nd, 2011 at 6:47 pm

I really hope Jesse follows through and kicks their ass! I’m so sick of “theme” based bikes. Jesse brings talent and a bad ass reputation. I know this is nothing more than a marketing skill but it would be nice to see some real talent back on television!

  54. 54 Preston Dec 2nd, 2011 at 6:58 pm

It looks like there are no Jr and Sr fans reading Cyril Huze Post. Or they hide fearing the worst on Tuesday.

  55. 55 DJ Dec 2nd, 2011 at 7:12 pm

I don’t know where all the JR/SR crowd is tonight.. They were out in force for the other build off threads. I guess school is out and they are not in the computer lab

  56. 56 NED Dec 2nd, 2011 at 7:18 pm

dam shame to see real bike builders come down to how popular they are thru tv documentaries, i was asked to have a live tv doco done in my shop in Australia and refused to participate , i dont want people judging my family and myself on what they percieve on tv , i come from 3 generations of bike builders ,grand father , my father , and myself , MONEY isnt about passion of building bikes , cheers” NED ” TITAN BIKE & TRIKE AUSTRALIA.
PS HOW BOUT SEEING SOME AUSSIE BIKES ON UR PAGES CYRIL HUZE ??????

  57. 57 Zipper Dec 2nd, 2011 at 8:20 pm

JJ is so eloquent, his vocabulary is on par with the bikes he builds along with the other two scholars. If they build such great machines why don’t they have a ride off. Nothing very difficult, maybe riding around pylons in a parking lot or making a U turn on a four lane road. That is about their speed. They won’t because all the bikes are useless. I would rather have a Rebel 250. At least I could go for a ride and not look stupid. The reason JJ doesn’t like the term enthusiast is because he can’t spell it or know the meaning of the word, and as far as his accomplishments go the only outstanding thing he ever did was score Sandra and he blew that. The Three of them may have a lot of talent as fabricators and metal workers but their bikes are not, ever were or will be CHOPPERS. In any case they are pa-say. ..Z

  58. 58 Gas Man Dec 2nd, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I like Jesse, most of the time. But it seems like some of you need to get a motel room with him.

I think PJD has been doing well for himself. It’s a niche market that they are filling. But at least he’s been doing better than OCC.

The talent sets are worlds apart between the American Chopper and JJ. It’s not that one is better than the other.

Further honestly JJ is being an a$$ just to be an a$$. I guess you guys are receptive to this so maybe it will work for him.

  59. 59 Gas Man Dec 2nd, 2011 at 8:29 pm

And I should add. It has been kinda lame for PJD to constantly talk about his fans voting.

I’m not going to vote on the bike due to popularity of the builder. I will vote for the best bike, PERIOD.

  60. 60 courtney Dec 2nd, 2011 at 8:38 pm

    Ok, I’ll try again, lol.

So yeah, I’d like to see either PJD or else OCC win this thing if only because I’d like to see Mouth’s explanation for why he lost — he never really wanted to win anyway, or the audience sucks, etc.

Besides, I’d like to see the typical Drunkard Womanizing Biker Rube lose.

Not everyone who rides (even Harley’s, lol) cares to be associated with this lifestyle, or else perceived as biker $luts, etc. Perhaps we have good reason for our choices.

I liked Billy Lane and would like to see more of him, too (eventually, of course…).

  61. 61 courtney Dec 2nd, 2011 at 8:49 pm

    Ok, I’ll try again…

So yeah, I’d like to see either PJD or OCC win this thing just to see this stereotypical crude biker lose.

Not everyone who rides cares to be associated with this lifestyle. Perhaps we have good reason for our choices.

I liked Billy Lane and would like to see more of him, too (eventually, of course…).

    RE: -JJ-
“…I think I needed to push myself on this build…”

    Absolutely…!!!
That is EXACTLY what it’s always been about.
It’s not just about the builder’s skill and artistry, but also how their talents evolve and grow.

It isn’t about the same old stuff, the lame same old drama, language, or diction.
(or “dick-cakes” delivered to the competition, for that matter)

    In MHO anyway.

  69. 69 Dave from Chicago Dec 3rd, 2011 at 7:50 am

Just my 2 cents but the comments from Joe Phillipson and Supreme Team says it all! What the hell are these guys doing for an industry that’s been hurt so bad by this economy. Great entertainment but it’s all about the money. Arlen Ness has said that his sales soared just from airing the biker build off shows. OCC and JPD just want to sell more Tee shirts! And Jesse needs a new WCC! I’m just a guy that built his own custom with his own hands and bought parts from both Bill @ Supreme and Joe @ Adjure. Both these guys actually answer their phone and help you through any problems you might have. In a world full of bullshit my hats off to all those selling and creating quality parts and standing behind their products

  70. 70 Prez Dec 3rd, 2011 at 7:55 am

Wake up. JJ. JPD, OCC do this for the money, not to help the industry.

  71. 71 Calif Phil Dec 3rd, 2011 at 9:07 am

I do hope this show will translate into some customers walking in my store with a build list. It did years ago when Motorcycle Mania first aired. JJ is a true bike builder, the other two are idiots.

  72. 72 bigalyts Dec 3rd, 2011 at 9:20 am

Wow, some really great Motorcycle enthusiasts reading and commenting on the JJ article. Now, Cyril I know you are trying to get a phone interview with Jr. and Sr. as well. It will be interesting if they respond?#!? Now “Kate” I never said JJ is a Junkie, I said he suffers from a disease and it is being a Sex Addict. I think you must have a lot of Tats, eh Kate! I think that there are many fans of Jr. and Sr. here reading the Huze Blog. I really know that JJ’s claim to fame is not about Building Motorcycles or Building the Toys on Monster Garage anymore. You ended up, destroying your fame through the marketing of TV. Let’s face it that is where JJ, Sr. and JR. developed their fame. JJ you will always be remembered by cheating on one of the most beautiful, wealthy and famous Women in the whole f_ _ king world for a Tattoo Monster. I think the bottom line to all of this build and TV , Entertainment is that JJ is a Moron, but I will know what the real reason is You have a Disease and it can be arrested if you do some real work. More of the famous JJ Bike Builder on this Thursday at 10 O’clock on the Bio Channel. They probably will not be talking about the Winner of the Build Off. I like JJ, met him 3 times and watched almost every show that he appeared in, even that terrible series “JJ is a Dead Man”. You have to admit that it sucked, big time, but I watched every episode.I guess 2 things have upset my personal opinion, and that is YOU AIEN’T , to Sharp. I am not even upset how, you layed all that Bullshit on my favorite show “Howard Stern” on Sirius Radio.

  73. 73 burnout Dec 3rd, 2011 at 11:41 am

I agree JJ’s is old school and thats the way to go.Tuttles too much DRAMA….My vote is for Jessie…Good Luck

  75. 75 Izadore007 Dec 3rd, 2011 at 12:07 pm

Dave from Chicago, that is what having a Motorcycle and Riding is all about! Calling and talking and having someone on the other Phone line listening and caring! That is the key word “Caring” that is what is missing and Riding in the World of Motorcycling! Jessie James, doesn’t care about “You” (Us).
He wouldn’t even pick the phone up to answer an important question or give you advise even if you bought a Rolling Chassis and all the parts from him to build a Bike! I know if you called Jessie and asked him to Build a Bike and no one is looking, for a great Cause, ie;: Make a wish Foundation or Children Diabetes or American Lung Association and pay for the Parts and donate your Labor as well< He would show you his Tattoo on his hands and Fingers. I know it says something like "Pay Up Sucker" or something Spiritual like that. I truly believe and I would BET that Sr. or Jr. would do it. I am not here to Judge his infidelities or his need to sleep with anything that is covered in Ink, however WHY WOULD YOU FU_K up like you did with a 'Coin Operated Tattoo Freak? I know you read Cyril's Blog, please respond, I don't know if I can watch the A&E Show on Thursday! I do not have Ti vo. Boy, what a Class Chick, She is, Sondra, I mean. I will bet Sondra did a little Tat for you, on her Bod, just for you Jessie. I would love to see watch it being removed! Also 1 more question, what was the Sporting thought behind sending the Degenerate Cake to OCC and Jr.? It was not even a little funny or cute. I would have maybe sent them a Plastic Model of 1 of their Designs, mashed up or altered, or something of that nature. That would have made much more sense. I don't think Sr. or Jr. have a sexual presence or have had any on Air sexual Drama. Now I think If they sent you those Cakes, it would have been, funny and made sense!!!!!!!!!!!

  76. 76 Dan Dec 3rd, 2011 at 12:57 pm

About time we heard more of him, missed the real stuff, getting tired of the immature family drama an chips on the shoulder stuff, jr sr, grow uo

  77. 77 alice victor Dec 3rd, 2011 at 1:16 pm

you can say what they want about jessie and paul sr. but they both have nothing but brow beating for paul jr yet you very seldom if ever returns with the brow beating paul jr takes his bike building very serious he put his all into every job he is unique in everything he builds him vinnie and brandon are a joy to watch they are the most awsome team when watching the show and they flip to occ and they start their bullshit shit brow beating it is like shut up and switch back to jr.so we can see their progress and by the way i love mike a and rick are my favorites on occ but jason is just an a** kisser trying to replace paul and mikey newsflash you are not paul sr sons and never will be and why he is in the after show i dont know he never has anything constructive to offer but paul jr will prevail not because of popularity but because him and his team but their heart and soul in everything they do without all the drama go paul jr vinnie brandon cody and nubbs your the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and mikey you have all our hearts!!!!!!!!!!

  80. 80 Tkevan Dec 3rd, 2011 at 3:54 pm

Yeaaa! We get to see another incarnation of an ElDiablo or CFL that all the ‘badazz bikers’ will call Manna from Heaven, and will bow at the feet of JJ. ROFLMAO. A snappy paint job on a ElDiabo, and he sells it to Shaq for $150K? And he says OCC is cheating their customers?? Even the Copper bike is a copy of the same tired design.

They should have gotten someone who’s stayed current. Too bad.

  81. 81 bigitch Dec 3rd, 2011 at 5:31 pm

as i read the article there was a strange noise coming from my computer. as i got closer to the end of the article i was able to identify the noise.

i was jesse’s lips sucking on the producer of discovery channel’s ass!

“I want another T.V. show, cuz i’m broke, and my ego is hurt, and i want attention .”

when you were a punk being bad ass was cool, but now that your older, and you cried on T.V. like a bitch, it looks and sounds infantile

  82. 82 Preston Dec 3rd, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Bigitch. Jesse is richer than you will ever be, and is the builder who needs the least ass sucking to get in a show.

  83. 83 Brescia Dec 3rd, 2011 at 5:47 pm

His sold his own house in Huntington Beach for 3.5 million. Poor?

  84. 84 Lambo Dec 3rd, 2011 at 5:52 pm

I don’t think the show will be as entertaing to me as much as this blog has been 🙂

  85. 85 JMC Dec 3rd, 2011 at 6:14 pm

First and foremost, Paul Jr. DOES AND WILL CONTINUE TO build excellent bikes. He builds what people ask for and doesn’t hide behind the “I’m building it for ME” BS. That’s a lame backup for when JJ loses! My opinion is that PJD WILL win if it’s popularity of good people and not aholes looking to back up the BAD ASS! My vote will be for PJD!

  86. 86 Kustoms and Choppers Magazine Dec 3rd, 2011 at 6:54 pm

I hope Cole Foster makes an appearance during the build off, if Jesse is back on discovery will Hank Young, Indian Larry’s Shop, and others get shows too? Also Jesse should do another “History of the Chopper” and include more about Denver Mullens

  87. 87 bigalyts Dec 3rd, 2011 at 8:55 pm

You know ” Tkevan” you reminded me and you are on the money. He did say that putting on a fancy air Cleaner and Jr. and OCC are ripping People off. Yeah, Jess what about that Dude? Hard Tail, Steel Swing Arm, Spoke Wheels and $100 Grand. I don’t believe Shaq is a Moron, he wouldn’t have over paid West Coast Choppers $100 Grand, just $50 Grand. Jessie James aien’t broke. He Got “Fuck You” money. What about California Law 50% of all Sondra’s earnings sine He married her. She got $20 million for the last Movie.Jessie Got hos $$$$$ by marrying Sondra Bullock. He can afford to have Jewish People do the thinking for JJ. Why do you think there was no fighting over the Divorce and why it was so smooth. It was all in Writing and Ca. Law. He probably walked away with $15 – $20 Mil from that gorgeous sweet Money Making Machine. No Jessie is more arrogant than ever. He doesn’t need anybody. Jessie just don’t let the ” Little Head do the thinking for the Big Head”. But, If you do, make sure the Jewish Thinkers, are all around you , Eh Lambo !

  88. 88 kc cheef Dec 3rd, 2011 at 10:05 pm

    I like your style bigitch.
    Well said.
Seems strange Cyril is giving JJ all the publicity on here.
Almost to the point of looking like he’s attempting to influence folks.
Me–I’m not really caring much who wins — hell all the bikes those guys build are way beyond what I can afford–and I likely wouldn’t be caught riding one if I could afford one.
Discovery Channel is entertainment folks–and the celebrity builders involved are entertainers now days.

    oh! i was mistaken. ..

that sucking noise was all you posers who think the sun shines on jesse’s ass, trying to suck up to him.

he doesn’t walk on water, he’s a human being who appears to be trying to become a recovering smart-ass.

just remember when you think he is so good, he can’t keep a marriage…

make sure you have the suicide prevention number on your speed dial in the event he …loses!

  91. 91 hk Dec 4th, 2011 at 4:55 am

so let me get this straight so that i follow the theme .If you cheat on your wife or do anything that is not becoming of a saint your bikes suck ? well that shitty i wish i knew that before i built all those bikes .Next life im going to go to church ,never swear ,always be faithful and walk old ladies across the road ,then at least people will respect my bikes ….Can someone please explain what fucking around on bum chin sandra bullhack has to do with welding and fab cuz im confused .

so he fucks around on his wife and all the woman he meets ,its not a friggin secret i would say that makes for some pretty stupid ass woman .

Im not a massive jesse james fan ,i think he acts and speaks that way to pretend he’s cooler than he is and his bikes are not mesmorizing .I just want to see the industry that pays my bills get another needed kick start with shows like this .If any of you think chopper mania and OCC didnt help get goofball weekend warriors buying overpriced chomesickles ,or even low priced bobs and chops your an idiot.

Bring it on i say ……if you think tv is making you stupid ,here is a tip …you were already stupid

  92. 92 Don Dec 4th, 2011 at 9:44 am

C’mon Cyril stop sucking up to JJ. JJ has talent but so do the Tetuls. In my eyes, tetuls are going to be better. JJ is old news. His opinion of himself is nothing more than stupid arrogance.

  93. 93 Petter Dec 4th, 2011 at 10:30 am

What the hell is wrong with everyone?

  94. 94 DJ Dec 4th, 2011 at 10:51 am

I just wish it would get over with at this point.. Just so I don’t have to listen to these posers rave on about how great PJD and OCC are… Get a grip people. I am n ot sucking JJ off.. but he is the only one with the skills to actually build. There is a difference between building and assembling. I know this is a foreign concept to the majority of our new “motorcycle enthusiast” culture… But there is more to it then Custom Chrome and J&P catalogs.

  95. 95 Rider2 Dec 4th, 2011 at 9:02 pm

It would have been nice to read the same interview from Jr and Sr to kind of event out. Cyril seems to have a better relationship with Jesse than OCC but to be fair, I wish he had the opportunity to give OCC a voice. 3 strong personalities in the industry. Should be a great show.

  96. 96 Scott Dec 5th, 2011 at 2:59 am

Jesse is the best builder in my book,
if I wanted another custom bike I would
    want JJ to build it.

JJ has the best details, functional details like
stainless steel safety wire on the calipers and other
    important nuts/bolts.

I have never seen OCC use safety wire on anything.

Old man Sr., I would never have him build me a bike, we have all seen his “Get it done, hit it with a hammer” workmanship and using
cheap ‘off-the-rack’ gas tanks, and other quick bolt-on parts.

Jr., is another story, his ego is bigger than his fathers and his building is good, not to the level of Jesse, but average.

I would like to see Jr. or Sr. build a gas tank from scratch.
I don’t think Sr. could do it, Jr. could pull it off.

Sr. really messed up, money & greed got the best of him.

  97. 97 sollis Dec 5th, 2011 at 3:03 am

The show already succeeded just by reading the comments here and crowd its designe to draw I say monkey see monkey likes type

  98. 98 bikerbean Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:09 am

Jesse is full of hot air and just wants to promote his stuff by bashing the Teutels. Clearly he is somebody for two reasons 1 – he married a hollywood star, 2 – he goes around screwing anything while married and wants the world to know he is a wonderful father. He no class and to top it off he stole his style from Indian Larry.

  99. 99 Brian J Dec 5th, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Wow this comments section has turned into to a drive-by. Almost as entertaining that the scripted ‘reality based-‘ Discovery shows. Egos do not equal brains that’s for sure.
Agree with you sollis…it workes on the masses are @sses principle I guess.

  100. 100 peggy Dec 5th, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Like Big Bear Choppers, television builders are a thing of the past. Would you really want to put your body on one of those bikes and be safe???????????

  101. 101 Tkevan Dec 5th, 2011 at 1:32 pm

“JJ has the best details, functional details like stainless steel safety wire on the calipers and other
    important nuts/bolts.”

Yeah, those are really important. You can tell by all the other builders usin….what? Nobody does that? Not even Harley with their massive interest in NOT getting sued?? Or the Metric bikes that make V-twins look like they’re standing still?? Oh,,, ok…never mind.

  102. 102 D nice Dec 5th, 2011 at 2:20 pm

To even suggests that Paulie is a builder is a joke, the only fabrication he does is bend round bar!! Enough said bahahahahaha!!!!! Jr and Sr will never measure up 😉

Hey Cyril , you did it again. Love or hate ’em you stir the emotions and for a few psychotic tendencies in the biker world. There must be a prozac shortage right now. I can’t wait to see tour blog later this week after the airings. We’re gonna have fun this week. By the Jesse rules.

  105. 105 bean're Dec 5th, 2011 at 8:30 pm

  106. 106 Mike-J Dec 5th, 2011 at 9:59 pm

This has been a long time coming i’m so glad that JJ called out Sr & Jr. Jesse has been my favorite for a long time, but i really like some of the bikes Jr builds. From watching tonights episode i think that the winner will be out of Jesse or Jr, cause Occ has went to crap as far as building bikes since Jr left.

  107. 107 Vivian Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Sr’s bike should be out ,because it is not consider a bike for this build off.I like Jess’s but I will have to go with Jr’s.I believe this is his best one so far.

  108. 108 jake g Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:16 pm

I think Jesse is a wash up that builds only for his own taste not everyone likes his bikes either. only people that think there bad.If it wasn’t for TV a lot of people wouldnt know him either. or his old school choppers that you see on rvrty conor as far as Im concerned he’s a loser who as an ego that thinks people should worship him he;s as aroagant as his name sake jesse james I laugh at you your washed up dud even after you braged you built your bike with the help of a dozen friends to bail your no talent but out of the fire

  109. 109 Texas Slim Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Jesse’s motorcycle is by far the best. It is a work of art. Jr’s bike looks simple, and it is actually rather ugly. Sr’s machine is a joke. I honestly think Sr. knew he had no realistic chance of winning this contest, so OCC came up with something purely for entertainment.

  110. 110 nathan metcalf Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:56 am

I think as far as fabrication it’s got to go to Jesse. As far as a vision has got to go to Paul Jr. Paul Sr. proved he has the means available to build anything.

  111. 111 Tin Shack Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:04 am

I watched the show last night…………Jesse actually built a bad ass chopper, very nice……………….Sr., ……….tracks?? WTF?………………….Jr., should add a footnote to his bike giving credit to Roger Goldammer for the original design (the 2004 BTR3), or at least get sent to the principals office for blatant plagiarism.

  112. 112 PureChopper! Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I saw the Bikes last night on the Monday night show and Jessie I love yours! I love it for it’s purity. It’s what a bike was, is and always will be to me.. a bad ass machine…
I saw the other bikes, well one isn’t even a bike not sure what it is, maybe a snowmobile? the other looks like my sisters bicycle when she was ten years old. I think the only thing missing is a barbie emblem. It’s like taking a Ferrari and putting chinsy things on it after a while it just so over done it’s loses it beauty. I think anyone could assemble parts. It takes a craftsman to make it from scratch.

  113. 113 PureChopper! Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:06 pm

I’m sure the purists will vote in tonight but it might not be enough to beat the popularity of the Tuetlus. JJ, I’m sure Indian Larry is looking down and laughing his a– off knowing you are still representing what Choppers really are. A chopper was and is a representation of the person riding it. What is cool about a chopper is that its a one of a kind built by the owner. Its not a mass produced assemblage of parts from a catalogue. Jr builds a tank, two fenders and waterjets logos, anyone could do that. Senior should stick to his old school roots, if he did, he would have never gone wrong. I respect them both but they have strayed from the purist view and I don’t consider their work the same as a true chopper fabricator. Its just in a different realm.

  114. 114 PureChopper! Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Hey discovery channel, keep the shows to building and not the soap operas they became with OCC. I just want to see guys taking raw steel and making something inspiring out of it, rather than the dysfunctional family matters that detracted from the OCC. I liked OCC at first, but zoned out after hearing the petty ignorant ravings of a Dad who should have bitchslapped his whinney lazy ass ingrateful son. I see that every day in real life, Why should I tune in to see it on TV..
    Wake up Discovrey channel!!!

  115. 115 Red Jay Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:13 pm

I too, thought of Indian Larry when I was watching that episode last night….miss that guy!! There were a couple of the original Biker Build off that were capitivating and made this show look kind of a joke.

  116. 116 PureChopper! Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:21 pm

When I think of Choppers, It’s names like Indian Larry, Billy Lane, Jesse Jame!!!! Choppers were the antithesis of a mass produced bike. Once you mass produce a chopper ala the Teutuls it no longer carries the true Chopper mystique. Indian Larry would have never mass produced a bike nor would any of the other true master builders.
Like I said I respect the Teutuls for what they accomplished, I just don’t include them in the same fraternity of Chopper builders as the purists.
    enough said…

  117. 117 eric Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:47 pm

    HEY Jesse James…….
You most likely will not read this comment, but when in the filiming of the build off I noticed you said ” IT LOOKS LIKE SATAN WOULD BE RIDING IT” …..OF COURSE YOUR CUSTOM BIKE. WOW SATAN IS YOUR LEADER AND WHOM YOU VALUE…………..THINK OF THIS IF YOUR LAYING ON YOUR DEATH BED , GOD FORBID, WHO WILL YOU PRAY TO ……SATAN….YOU GIVE HIM GLORY ..WHY…IF YOU ARE ON YOUR DEATH BED , WHO WILL YOU CRY OUT TOO SATAN, OR GOD……ITS NOT COOL TOO HONOR GOD, WHO HAS GIVEN YOU LIFE…………………………….YOUR NOT COOL FOR LOVING EVIL…………EVIL IS DEATH, GOD IS LIFE..
    ERIC

  118. 118 bjj Dec 7th, 2011 at 9:13 am

If the whole idea of the show was to drum up interest in starting a new bike-off series, I think they accomplished that. Not all , but just look at all the simple minded a-holes who made simple minded comments above. Wow, take the f word out of the mix and you have jj the gay, so called burned out bike builder. Old man Paul Sr. has about as much class as jj. Wow, that’s saying alot. Paully seemed to be the classiest and I’m glad he finally stood up and got in jessies punk ass. Although, I’d say he needs to get off the theme thing. Overall all the comments before and after are kind of scary. Man there are alot of weak minded morons out there. BE CAREFUL!! Look at the one above. Even Jesus Christ got in on this fiasco, disguising himself as a guy named Eric! Also. somebody mentioned bitch slapping somebody. That was the only good comment I could relate to, because if Paully would have bitched slapped jj, we would of all saw what a phony dried up over the hill punk he is. Other than that it was a good show! HA!HA!

  119. 119 dwm Dec 7th, 2011 at 10:14 am

It’s just a show! Life goes on, bills keep coming

  120. 120 cp Dec 7th, 2011 at 1:07 pm

I’d have been more impressed with JJ’s claim of “built to ride” if he could actually see where he was going without having to peek over to one side of the bars. The fabrication they showed was impressive, but it looked miserable to ride.

  121. 121 PureChopper! Dec 7th, 2011 at 2:51 pm

Well I saw the show and of course Junior won. At the end I’m sure everyone noticed JJ going over to Senior and whispering in his ear. I’m sure he said, “it’s all good television”…. keep those ratings going. There’s an old saying “Talk about me good or bad, just keep talking about me”
If it were a love fest no-one would watch it.

Junior wanted to come of as the classiest.. ha! If he had any class he would have thanked his father for giving him the opportunities he now has. Yeah yeah he builds his Theme bikes and they are impressive, but without his father he would not have been there in the first place.

And we Americans love to watch this stuff. We admire people and put up on pedastals only to rip them down and watch them burn. I look at all the shows that have come about on Discovery., TLC and the like,. They start out great, and then they descend into the drama of destructive relationships… and we watch till our eyes pop out… A sad commentary on America, we use our folks, soak them dry and maybe call them once a year to wish them happy thanksgiving…

  122. 122 steve Dec 8th, 2011 at 8:06 pm

jesse, you’re an errogant retarded piece of shit. you are definately not as great as you dream of being. your bike isnt anything special or new at all. you are not the only one that bends metal. and it was quite obvious through the FILMING and VIDEO proof that you had A LOT more help than unloading materials. you are a fucking loser and u need to take a breath of fresh air so pull ur blown up head out of ur own asshole. if you have a show on discovery, you wont put anything on the map, you might make them lose ratings! discovery has been on the map and would never need your help. especially if your help was supposed to gain them ratings. you would probably do as good at that as you did at winning the build off. the one that you didnt that is. once again you are an errogant piece of shit

  123. 123 Chuck Dec 13th, 2011 at 12:40 pm

Man, the posted comments on this blog are as impressive as the show! It just warns my heart to see so many by actual chopper purists who understand the true talent and craftsmanship displayed by Jesse James. In hindsight, I guess I didn’t see a lot of these type of comments on other blogs mainly because true craftsmen tend to have better things to do. IMO Jesse’s entry one HANDS DOWN not only because it looked killer but I can also appreciate it’s overall durability and functionality. In an attempt to be as objectionable as I can, Junior has some degree of skill but his creations just strike me as glorified, over-priced Easter eggs that are certainly not meant to be ridden. IMHO his entry (along w/ his recent 9-11 tribute bike) was another example and when I found out that the “gas tank” was purely cosmetic, I lost what little respect for it. I wasn’t feeling the gaudy tires either. Senior truly undermined the whole event w/ his entry and I must admit I can understand and respect that. But I suspect that he’s a purist at heart and if he had put some effort into constructing something along the lines of one of his old school projects or even his POW bike, the whole affair would’ve been that much more genuine and not so much of a mockery. Jesse has as much celebrity status, money and resources as the Teutuls but for some reason doesn’t let them water down his work ethics when it comes to building bikes. The fact that Junior won the “sympathy vote” just goes to show that collectively the general American public doesn’t really know what it wants and that’s sad. I find it hard to believe that there are that many people out there who would actually want a $100K motorcycle just “decorating” their garage…INSANE!!!

To everyone who read my post – please excuse my typos. I’m at work and didn’t take the time to proofread! LOL

@ Eric – Dude, get a grip! Obviously JJ was speaking “figuratively” when he made the Satan remark. Hopefully you aren’t as narrow-minded and sensitive as your post suggests. Going off the subject a bit, truthfully none of us know for sure whose worthy of His glory so we can do w/o your mountaintop speech. Man! There’s always one. LOL
