The American Cafe Racer. God made It Happen…

I have already featured several custom bikes from Australian builder “Deus Ex Machina” (Latin for “God Made It Happen) All built at the Sydney headquarter.

The shop has also a presence in California where Michael “Woolie” Woolaway created “The American”, a very cool Cafe Racer using a Harley platform.

A low chrome-moly frame received a 1200 cc 5-speed Sportster engine prepared for street race performance: lightened and hand-polished rockers, Edelbrock heads, Andrews cams, JE high-compression pistons. 41mm Keihin carburetor, SuperTrapp megaphones. For suspension, a Buell WP front end held by a Durelle Racing triple-tree and Work Performance rear shocks. Braking of both 18″ wheels dressed in Avon rubber via Brembo calipers. And of course, rider holds clip-on handlebars fitted with a Motogadget speedo. Deus Ex Machina.

Rodent, you’re an idiot. Out of that entire article God is mentioned once in order to translate something into English (that the DESIGNER named it) and that’s what you decide to comment on? You probably belong to the ACLU and complain at football games during the prayers for no one to be hurt during the game.

Another stunning creation from a group of very talented builders. However, I think you will find that “Deus Ex Machina” is much more commonly translated as “god from the machine” rather than, “God made it happen”. Wikipedia goes into a bit more detail and is worth a quick look as the history of this phrase is very interesting indeed.

Nothin’ happens without God – let’s face it, fellow bikers – we have been ridin’ on a prayer every time we let the Hog out of the box and hit the hard-pack !!
