S&S Cycle Celebrates Its 55th Anniversary And You Are Invited.

S&S-LogoOn Friday June 21st and Saturday June 22nd, 2013 S&S Cycle will celebrate their 55th anniversary this and they would like like everyone to join them for the celebration party. It will take place at the Oktoberfest grounds in La Crosse, Wisconsin, with a side trip to the S&S factory in Viola for breakfast, plant and museum tours, and rides through the beautiful hills of the “driftless area” of southwest Wisconsin.

There’ll be live music, featuring Foghat and The Outlaws and including the Eric Tessmer Band, vendor displays, traditional Wisconsin brats and beer, and a bike show featuring five student-built bikes. Hang out, relax, enjoy the music, scarf a few brats, have a cool one, and ogle the bikes.

Wish I could make it and visit S&S factory.

I hope they will invite the participants of the 50th anniversary . . . 😉

Went there for the 50th. Had a good time except for the flood that swept thru the grounds due to a torrential rainstorm.

Assuming the place is still there, everyone should check out Rudy’s Drive-In. They had the Knucklehead Reunion going on during S&S’s show and drew a great crowd of vintage bikes.

Wish I could make this one, but have way too many irons in the fire right now.

May need to hoof it across the state to make this.

Ah, Rudy’s…went there a few times whilst attending UW-L in the 80s. And the Oktoberfest grounds…buy two beers – one to drink and one to throw…

The 50th celebration was a great time! Howard, Brett, James & Bruce all did a great job! (others as well)
Iron Horse – Rudy’s Vintage Bike Show was off the hook (for such a lil town) Good turnout of some Vintage Iron!

Gary Rudy, the owner of Rudy’s stopped in a couple days ago and mentioned if he can get a hold of John Endrizzi (who I believe follows Cyril’s blog) to see if he’d be interested in organizing another Vintage Bike Show, he’d like to have one at the Drive-In during the 55th celebration.

Tundra, its been a while since you’ve been to Oktoberfest hasn’t it!? The Southside Fest Grounds activities are nothing like they were in the 80’s. No one throws beer any more – big fines and ya get booted out for that offense. I remember those days as well and now at 50+ years of age I am glad that is part of the history 😉 The opening day ‘Tapping of the Golden Keg’ activities on Friday is always a great time – and you can stay dry as a popcorn fart the entire time. Now that I mentioned the word ‘Popcorn’ it brings to mind the Popcorn Tavern, but thats an entirely new post – I’m SURE you remember that place as well!

If Bertrand and Kruger show up I may not be the only 50th Anniversary Builder at the 55th!
