Jay Leno Guest Stars On Next Episode Of Overhaulin’ On Velocity

overhaulingAs you know, the auto restoration projects by design legend Chip Foose are for deserving individuals ranging from returning veterans to those negatively impacted by the tough economy. Each altered auto becomes a life-changing surprise for its unknowing owner.

In the first of this special two-part episode of OVERHAULIN’ you will meet a soda delivery man who supplies 7-up every weekend to Jay Leno’s Big Dog Garage. He has been a volunteer at the garage for the last 10 years loving each and every vehicle he works on. Yet, his favorite is his prized possession, a 1972 Lotus Europa.

When he drops by Leno’s Big Dog Garage to show off his Lotus, it suddenly bursts into flames right there in Leno’s shop driveway! Not only is the Lotus extremely exotic, this soda delivery man cannot afford the repair with college tuition expenses for his two children and his own cancer medical bills. This dedicated man receives the gift of a lifetime when Jay Leno himself nominates the car to be Overhauled. Chip Foose and his A-team set out to create the largest most elaborate and labor-intensive custom hot rod creation ever attempted on OVERHAULIN’.

You can catch this all-new episode of OVERHAULIN’ on VELOCITY at its new day and time on Sunday, May 26 at 8PM ET/PT. Part two of this special episode will premiere on Sunday, June 2 at 8PM ET/PT.

I dig this show. They actually put creativity, craftsmanship and artistry on display as the centerpiece as opposed to kicking in doors, blowing crap up and discussing friggin’ lawsuits for hours. It’s my hope that the new Zach Ness show will represent the bike building world with the same integrity Chip and his crew do the car world. I suspect they will deliver.

I’ve had a thing for Jessie since she was on extreme 4×4 in 2005

Foose doesn’t just create custom cars, he makes work of art. Absolutely stunning creations. His work is what all others are judged by.
