Car Manufacturer Lotus To Build Its Own And First Ever Motorcycle.

Lotus-MotorcyclesThe iconic car manufacturer created Lotus Motorcycles to design and build a first motorcycle to be be named Lotus C-0. It  is announced by the company as to become the most impressive appearance on public roads on two wheels.  Lotus Motorcycles is a joint project of Kodewa, car designer Daniel Simon and the Holzer Group. The Lotus C-01 will be a hyper bike with integrated racing technology.

It will be manufactured of materials like carbon, titanium and aerospace quality steel, which are also used in Formula 1. Safety, ergonomics and design are the most important factors the design team has put emphasis on. It will be a state of the art motorbike powered by an approximately 200 horsepower engine. The shapes of the famous Lotus 49 car were a main inspiration, and all color schemes pay homage to iconic Lotus racing liveries, such as the dashing black and gold. I will publish the first pictures as soon as released.

If the Lotus bike is half as good as their cars it should be a great bike. We’ll see.

I guess it will have a wide, high flat seat and radical pull-back flat drag-style handlebars. So it can be ridden in the Lotus position.

And if it bombs it must mean it will probably be ridden doggy style?

I’ll bet the Barber Museum in Alabama will be wanting a bike for sure, seeing that they love bikes and Lotus cars!
I look forward to seeing one.

Oh great, just what the world needs…yet another over powered ‘superbike’ styled motorcycle to go with the other million garish plastic clad uglies trying to look like a GP racing bike. UGH..

I’m sure it’ll be nice; I remember both the Europa and the Super Seven…but I’m also sure it’ll be garage jewelry for the Lenno types; not something for Joe Lunchbucket…

Why not. Hope it has more success than the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati motorcycles
