The Biker Belles event, known as the preeminent celebration of women in motorcycling, is all about sharing stories, riding together (men are welcome) and raising money to benefit helping both women-related causes, Horsepower and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame.
On Tuesday August 6th, the event started by a special catered reception, a fashion show featuring Harley Davidson Motor clothes, a symposium of leading industry women, including Shelly Rossmeyer, Cris Sommer-Simmons, Vicki Roberts-Sanfelipo, Tigra Tsujikawa, Lisa Baker and celebrity rider Kristy Swanson. a live and silent auction.
A Harley Davidson Softail Slim donated by Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson in support of the event and customized by Jessi Combs (Velocity Television’s All Girls Garage) was purchased by Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers as a present to his wife Cris Sommer-Simmons (they met for the 1st time in Sturgis 24 years ago) The custom features parts donated by Avon Tyres, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson, Klockwerks, Legend Air Suspension, LGE & CTS, Magnaflow, PPG Paint and Ride Wright Wheels.
The customization work made by Jesse Combs will be featured on 2 episodes of All Girls Garage scheduled to air on Velocity channelAugust 24th and September 7th with the last episode being filmed on site and at the Buffalo Chip. The charity ride in the Black Hills ended at the Legendary Buffalo Chip for more fun activities and a concert with Toby Keith.
