On September 12, the speed warriors of the racing world will convene at the Bonneville Salt Flats for Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout, the annual assault on land-speed world records. The Top 1 Oil Ack Attack streamliner, currently the world’s fastest motorcycle with a top one-way speed of 394.084 MPH and a world record speed of 376.4 MPH, will be revved up to defend its title.
Top 1 Oil Ack Attack team – -pilot Rocky Robinson and owner-designer Mike Akatiff – are currently prepping to break the 400 MPH mark against three competitors, the Bub 7 and the Triumph Rocket. Attempts will be made from September 12 to 16, 2013. If weather conditions are not favorable on the Salt Flats the race will be rescheduled in October.
