Yes before the internet and glossy dealerships ( sounds like the beginnings of a Merle Haggard song ) we could only buy the bikes out of the brochure. Unless you knew someone that knew someone that owned the model you were looking at.Then you went around to their place and ooohed and aahed. Usually with a beer in hand and the women folk tucked well out of the way.
Needed quiet of course to study every detail and curve. With possibly some extra curricular chemicals.

Those Brochures were the best. The dealers keep stock now and the internet gives you instant info and pics. not as much fun though.
We all used to rush down to the Dealer when a new bike arrived and watch it be unpacked and assembled. Yep……………..

The motor sounds don’t match the new bikes, IMO. I’d bet a shiny new dealership coffee mug that they dubbed in a nice sounding Evo for sound. Not trying to be picky………………….I just miss my Evo, waaahhh!!

Too bad, the line-up was looking pretty good without old snoot face.

I think Johnny Gypo is correct about the sound….It sounds like a carbed engine. FI engines don’t idle that slow and the sound is very deep (pleasant).

GPS works very well , in any light conditions. Hard to beat an HD 🙂
