Ural Motorcycles will soon unveil a special edition machine, probably another fully loaded sidecar with a traditional 749cc air-cooled fuel injected 4-stroke boxer engine, a square cylinder architecture (3.1” bore and stroke), capable of delivering 41 horsepower at 5,500 revs and 42 lb-ft (57 Nm) of torque at 4,300 rpm. The name of the project is MIR, a Russian word which stands for both “universe” and “peace”. The new Ural should be unveiled (not confirmed) at the Italy EICMA in early November.

Exciting, I am breathless in anticipation!

I met the owner of Ural motorcycles at the Motorcycle Expo in Indy several years ago. He and his very lovely wife seek the opinion and advise of American sidecar pilots. I am impressed with the changes made to his machines. Not too much at once, just slow and steady like his motorcycles. Can’t wait to see this new rig.
Hey Cyril,
