Race To The Clouds. Victory Racing and Roland Sands Design Build Project 156.

Victory Racing and Roland Sands Design take on the challenge of building a 100% hand-built road racing bike with a prototype Victory engine. Together they plan to race the bike at Pikes Peak (Race to the Clouds), America’s most challenging road race with 156 corners up a 14,000ft (4,267m) mountain.

    Very interesting. A water cooled, fuel injected v twin with im sure loads of power. Love the styling, love the fact its not a cruser. Proper suspension. Please build it Victory. If they have built an engine im sure they will use it in something for the road. Buel/EBR is dead ( we hope not ) long live Victory.

    I’d love to see Victory come out with a motor that outperforms all competitors handily instead of outperforming one competitor moderately.

    On the one hand … I wish them all the success . On the other … Pikes Peak has a very bad habit of beating down even the best in the business when they’re lacking ay least a few years experience on the Mountain . So despite the combination of CW/RSD/Victory … that is a brand new ride .. the rider’s only been here once before …. hmmm …. .. ahhh … errr …. fingers crossed but I wouldn’t be placing any bets on their succeeding .

    To TJ, thanks for the encouraging words. Your opinion means so much to all of us.

    TM – You are most welcome ! ( sarcasm both equally and absolutely intended )

    Love it, love everything about it. Build it up, run it, race it, go home and do it all over again! Winning is not the only goal, although I’m sure they would like to at least place respectably. I wish them the best.

    I can’t wait to see/ride the Vic production bikes with this new motor. Rumor has it that they will be released this summer and that they will have 130+ HP at the rear wheel. I test rode the Scout today (it has the smaller version of Polaris’ new water-cooled motors) and it was impressive. Hoping they will build a new touring bike around this new motor.

    That mountain will make or break you…better build it right….

    Would love to see a helmet-cam shot to that ride…..

    Nicker – search Don Canet Pikes Peak for the YouTube video. You will be impressed. Rookie year took third place. Takes balls to do it. None to slap a keyboard around!

    @TJ Martin –

    A dude won Pikes Peak on a stock Ducati in his rookie year.

    Looking forward to a mass produced American road race bike…

    I love it all. This is the American dream. Face a challenge, put on your work gloves, stare danger and naysayers down,and go for it. Good luck to everybody involved.
