On February 19, Victory Motorcycles will launch The Octane, a new modern “American Muscle” motorcycle. I can’t tell you more right now, but if you have read me attentively during the last 6 months and heard about the Project 156, then about the Ignition and Combustion custom bikes, you can guess what the new platform will be all about. A very short video teaser.

These hype campaigns do nothing to get me excited about a new product. Just show us the bike and give us the specs. Victory seems to do this a lot and it usually lowers my interest rather than peaks it as they’re attempting to do.
@ JS; true, I am left cold also, but often they work. Someone just about to buy something else sees this and thinks, “hmm, I better hold off before I sign anything until I see this new bike, could be the best thing ever and I’ll be pissed I already bought something else.”.
+1 what Johnny speed said,
I tend to agree, but advertising is all about repetition. It’s a turn off to those of us not in or soon to be in the market for a new bike. For someone who is the hype, then the reveal, then the “first impressions” media coverage, then the “full review” media coverage…all that repetition gets the soon to be buyer to remember to check out a Victory showroom when it’s time to start shopping. Should be quite the fun little bike, I am looking forward to seeing some motor specs.
This teaser is not only to alert you on a new coming model but also to incite you to come back on February 19th. to this website to see it…
Woody – You make a good point. It’s about that time of year for a lot of new bike buyers and if this hits the right note with enough of them it’ll work for Victory. Which i hope it does, because I love looking at all the new bikes people are riding every year.lol But, the hype just isn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t watch Lost while it was on because all the hype turned me off for a long time. But, I watched it last year and enjoyed it!
Could it be the engine that they will place into their AMA Pro Flat Track program. Its coming
what’s there to get amp’d up about? Victory making another cruiser & missing another opportunity
They could leak some specs like rake and trail as that would interest the underserved portion of the market then weight and wheelbase.
This same thing use to happen to me when I was in 10th grade and trying to get my first piece of Punta!
Advertising that has worked……..it’s a SHORT VIDEO TEASER that has just got you all talking about the new Victory release. Media 10, Comments 0
Chop – I’m talking about the campaign though, not the bike. So Marketing Campaign: 10, New Victory Bike: 0.
@ chop, but who among us has bought the new bike? (nobody) The advertising company gets paid for doing something to make us talk, but Victory only gets cha ching if/when we buy the bike. All the teasers in the world won’t make us buy, this isn’t, “Paradise by the dashboard light” or the 1800’s where ya didn’t get to ride it until you married it. ☺
Not crazy about the hype either !
Especially when you know what’s coming …
Ok, Victory where are the liquid cooled big/touring bikes
that we all know you’re going to come out with ???
Enough with the mid-size already
Some of us have decisions we have to make on big dollar cycles
Am I the only one who clicked on the see more tab? I thought it was a good preview when compared to the way they teased us with the Indian info.
It’s the Indian Scout motor bumped out.
Start showing success with Indian?
We must undermine it!!!
Damnit Polaris. You could do better but you’re about to destroy two brands with one bike
I must have missed something? There was nothing there.
Undoubtedly it will be as ugly as all the other Victory models…
