The BMW Motorrad VISION NEXT 100

It’s the future of motorcycling. At least for some. We know that soon cars will drive themselves, be powered by electricity, and network with each other to avoid accidents. The same self-driving technology can be integrated on motorcycles. The Motorrad Next 100 is a concept motorcycle using tech already available, the most interesting being the self-balancing feature.

In the future, we’ll have motorcycles that don’t go very fast, and don’t require any skill to ride, but luckily, we’ll still have stereos from the 1980s…

what’s the point, who’d buy it, why would you want to get on
a bike or in a car that you just ride around in without human input.

If you are afraid of responsibility and taking control of your direction
then they have solutions for those people already,
they are called a bus, cab, train, subway.

On the one hand I agree it seems pretty silly for a bike to work like that. On the other hand, if this technology really takes off, it might reduce accidents quite a bit.

Besides that, I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom. As long as there are enough people that want to bike, there will most likely be a solution one way or another. Just because there is the technology to ride for you doesn’t mean that it has to be on at all times. It could work more along the lines of for example ABS brakes, which only kicks in when necessary.

Having the freedom to drive around and steer yourself 99% of the time, and have the system take over whenever an accident is imminent would be the best of both worlds.

Ok, BMW made a functioning Bat-Cycle
Does not mean it’ll ever hit the street
Part of the love of motorcycles is the danger
This contraption just “nanny stated” it away
    Thanks, but No Thanks !!!
