I’ve been using AMSOIL since 2004, in both Harley’s ! We also supply Laconia H-D year round ! Great Stuff ! I’ve been a H-D owner since 1967, been to every Laconia Rally since 1969 !
Been a Amsoil fan since in the 80’s and was a small time Amzoil
“Z” dealer for me and my friends motorcycle needs.
I’m not a fan of using engine oil in the Primary, or of using chrome filters – prefer the better heat disipation of black.
My Harley mechanic says, don’t use synthetic oil in my EVO, something, to do with different bearings? I use full synthetic in crankcase of my twincooled only, had problems with compinsators in 2012 FLHTC, with stag 4 and 888 woods cams? Seems, everyone has opinions? Hard to find proff !
Can anyone shine light on it !!!
should have used the filters with the nut, much easier to work with.
Synthetic oil is fine in Evos.
Don’t use engine oil in primary. Use ATF.
Don’t use SYN 3, It is garbage. Amsoil and Redline are good. There are many good oils, not SYN 3.
Don’t use engine oil in transmission. Use gear oil 80/140 or 75/140 Redline, Belray, etc.
Synth is NOT okay in the older Evos. Been there and done that experiment.
It’s oil so that’s fine and the engine still runs okay, BUT it tends to clean the old gunk etc out of the oiling system which results in the older bikes starting to leak like no tomorrow.
So can you use it…yes, provided you are happy to live with the leaks!
Sorry Bob, that’s a myth.
