New Fat Front Fender For Harley Bagger Fitted With Front Wide Tire

Pickard USA developed the “Meat Head”, currently the only true bolt-on fat front tire kit for Harley Touring Models 2013 and down.

Other Harley wide tire kits require special cut fork cans, triple trees, and a fender with the sides notched out so the tire will have adequate clearance.

The “Meat Head” saves hundreds of dollars by eliminating all the time and labor spent disassembling the front end for a fat tire conversion.

Retail price: $499. For more info go to Pickard USA or call Nick Nickon nick@pickardusa.com 972-231-1290

This description is NOT correct and to be fair you should print a retraction. NATIVE CUSTOM BAGGERS has been offering TRUE BOLT-ON wide front tire kits with STAMPED STEEL LASER CUT AMERICAN MADE FENDERS for baggers for about 5 years now and first installed a 180mm front tire on a HD touring model 11 years ago back in 2006. All of NATIVE’S kits are BOLT-ON and only one kit includes new triple trees. The other two NATIVE wide front tire kits DO NOT require a triple tree change. Only two of NATIVE’S 180 kits have notched fenders which is necessary when running the super wide Avon COBRA 180/55-18 that Native recommends with their kits. This FIBERGLASS meathead fender is NOT wide enough to fit the Avon Cobra that NATIVE uses. The FIBERGLASS meathead fender is only for use with ONE TIRE, the skinnier Avon VENOM tire. Avon has discontinued all except two of its Venom tires so its only a matter of time before the Venom tires will no longer be available and then meathead fender owners won’t be able to by the Venom tires to go under their fenders! Also, please keep in mind that flawless 14g stamped steel laser cut fenders (like Native’s) fit perfect every time, will never crack and cost less to paint because they don’t require ANY bodywork to get them ready to prime and paint. Fiberglass fenders usually require bodywork to get them straight / smooth enough to paint, can crack from vibration, can change shape when baking in the sun and are hand drilled so the mounting holes can vary and when dealing with the very tight tolerances of the meathead fender that can result in tire to fender contact which could be deadly. NATIVE 180mm front fenders are wider so there is adequate clearance all around even the wider Avon Cobra tire so there are no safety concerns. We expected people to attempt to copy our NATIVE wide front tire kits but when people do that and then lie about the facts we have to address and correct the “fake news” and provide consumers with accurate facts. Thank you for taking the time to read the truth.

    Paul,

you are correct regarding the Avon Venom being discontinued, but there will be another tire option available… The V Twin product manager for pirelli/metzeler has been talking to us about their new bi directional 180 tire that’s coming out very soon. This new tire is going to replace the Venom size tire, so our new fender will still work for customers who have previously purchased a Venom tire. We created the first 23 bolt on triple tree back when everyone said you had to cut and weld… We created a new category, just like you did and due to the popularity, our competitors created similar products to fill the market place. We never claimed to create the fat tire kit, we just created a new fender that makes it more affordable and easier to install for the average guy. You offer a great kit and there are pros and cons to ours and yours, and it’s up to the customer to decide which direction he wants to go with his abilities.
