where is it?
I like the Indian bikes Polaris has built but I constantly wonder if they will be around next year after what Polaris did to its water craft line then the Victory line. A precedent and pattern has been set. I personally think they shut down the wrong line of motorcycles. At the very least they should have been merged then make and market the best of both lines.
The Indian line IS the Polaris line, with a different sheet metal theme because they bought a vintage name and are capitalizing on that with their marketing. The company is about the same as it always was or perhaps better, considering the factory test team for shaking out problems in new models of watercraft or sleds was always the customer.
I did have to chuckle at one of the guys in the video referring to, “the old Indian line”. I assume he has already been swept off into the PR Dept. dungeon for reprogramming. 😄
In one of the comments on Y/T itself, one guy asked how come Ola Stenegard wasn’t in this video since he’s the head of design now?
Woody – yeah he was sent for reprogramming but the video editor who forgot to take it out well, he hasn’t been heard from since.

The teaser suggests a Scout based Scrambler and I wonder if it will be named the Warrior TT?
I see that many bikers are wondering what Indian really has in store in the future. Indian should make another video with a bunch of Ola Stenegard concept drawings from street bobbers to bagger styles etc.. I’d like to think that the public could offer Indian a lot of good feedback, especially if they want that particular hot looking concept bike to be made.
It’s very probable that this video was shot before Ola even took the job.
Bringing in Ola is a clear sign to me that Indian plans on being a dynamic participant in the motorcycle industry. This is still a young effort, initially focused efforts on roll out, then on building the brand through racing efforts and now, it seems refocusing on the consumer offerings. Seems like a well measured approach to construction of a Polaris Indian brand. Just as certain as the corporate culture seems to jettison unprofitable efforts, if Polaris Indian continues to grow profitably, it won’t be going anywhere soon.
I have seen several videos where the Indian paint just does not last several warranty claims I hope they get this fixed several people I know we’re not very happy at all peeling and chipping paint and bubbling paint on the chief.

I own two Indians and there hasn’t been any paint problems and I’ve visited the dealerships along with other riders, they haven’t had any paint problems. Maybe Hardley can stop by an Indian dealership after he gets his brakes repaired on that Harley and see the truth for himself! Brakes, Paint, engine and riders all are good, we just arrive to our destinations long before you guys!
The video just had to get those tattoos in.
I still say Harley is a better bet than Polaris, especially after what they did to Victory. Maybe they will prosper with Indian. I hope so, since Harley needs the competition in the heavy American bagger market. But I will remain a loyal Harley guy.
