For reasons of looks and to make our bikes lighter, it seems that during these last 5 years we drilled holes everywhere we could. Frame, exhaust, fender, struts, battery box, grips, headlight, floorboards, multitude of brackets and even in oil bags & gas tanks. I must admit my share of responsibility for this trend. This new plate from Indian Larry Legacy continues the theme under the transmission, and if it’s not the best location on a bike to show “how drilled” you are, it’s still a very cool part. This adjustable light weight transmission plate fits 4 speed frames and accepts 4 speed, 5 in 4 and 6 in 4 transmissions. Polished and nickel plated. Indian Larry Legacy Store

Cyril, as you know, this piece is always somewhat of an issue for us builders when we’re jumping around using various tranny’s etc…and it’s good to see a company like ILL coming to answer some issues. Great looking piece and i’ll look to see how they work.
I see these plates in J.P CYCLE but the plate is upside down from the picture you show here – Looks like the picture right out of IIL`s website – They are advertized as being able to fit 1941 -1984 4-Speed`s – There is no mention that the 1941 thru 1978 Sliders on the bottom of the stock transmission will not fit the plate unless they are milled off the bottom of the case.
IS THIS A TRUE STATMENT ???
