Sturgis 2008. You Gonna Love Riding Back Home.

It is a pretty good idea coming from the crew at Baker Drivetrain. You ride up to Sturgis with your 5-speed transmission (factory or after-market) bike and ride back home smoothly shifting a new Baker Direct Drive 6-speed. I let them explain to you how to make the switch while you enjoy the Sturgis Rally.
“Make the ride home better than the ride there.
Don’t think about your ride to Sturgis,  think about the ride home. Think about how nice it would be to ride back with a few-hundred less – bike rattling, fuel sucking, bolt-loosening, ass-numbing -motor RPM. Forget about the screaming that your engine did on the way out there.
That is, forget about that old 5-speed and return home with the award-winning BAKER Direct Drive 6-Speed to keep up with the new Cruise Drive™ equipped Harley-Davidsons®.For a flat $2,595.00 and a healthy afternoon of bar-hopping in downtown Sturgis you can be all set. Get a BAKER DD6 installed while you eat, drink, and be merry about your nice ride home with a more-relaxed engine, a quieter transmission, a more-efficient ride, and suffering buddies who still ride stock 5-speeds. Read more on why the DD6 is perfect for the long ride home at We’ll cover the cost of Spectro Heavy Duty Primary Lube, Spectro Heavy Duty Platinum 6-Speed Tranny Lube, gaskets and labor”.

Please call “Sales” on my behalf at 1-877-640-2004 and schedule an appointment while there is still availability. It is a first come/first serve basis and spaces are filling. There are many riders that would like to sneak an upgraded transmission home onto their ’90-’06 Big Twin while away from…their spouses. What happens in Sturgis, stays in Sturgis.
When & Where: Sturgis Bike Week 2008, 10:00am-5:00pm Everyday. The Baker Drivetrain’s booth will be on the corner of Lazelle Street and 5th Street. More Information

I do not know about changing my transmission while in Sturgis But Baker does have some great products and I am sure it will be a good deal for many.
I just installed a Baker Plus 1 Oil Pan on my 2004 FLHTI and am very pleased with it. I fell the extra quart of oil will help my engine run cooler.

I love my Baker 6 speed. I have put many miles on it and have had no problems. Recently I borrowed a friends bike with a 5 speed and felt like I was stuck in low gear and thought the motor was screaming at highway speeds. I guess I am spoiled now and could never go back.
