Who need a reverse gear? Trikes, sidecars and surprisingly, for whatever reason, quite a few of 2-wheel riders. AIM Corp. (Advanced Innovational Machinery Corporation) the US affiliate of Tamachi Industries in Tokyo, Japan, made its reputation with great clutch systems. And I mention them because they improved and were able to lower the price of their reverse gear kit. Their system is operated by engine power with clutch gear housing and not using electrical motor. The 2-piece kit doesn’t require to remove the transmission from the frame, is available for both cable and hydraulic clutch and the shifter knob is now provided already chromed. Fits 07 to 10 Harley-Davidson Big Twin/6-speed models, (including ’06 Dyna). No exhaust pipe modification required for ’09 to ’10 Touring models stock exhaust pipes All necessary parts provided for an easy installation. AIM Mamba Reverse Gear Kit. Tel. 714-848-3030.

This is a good idea. I see alot of older riders, not having the leg strenght to maneuver their rides like they once were able to. Great riders, still, just not the legs they used to have. Quuite the work out for a 60+ rider to push 500-875 lbs backward with a single leg at a time.
Right, will work for older rider, but quite a innovative part.
Although the HD reverse gear option was available to Military and Police two wheelers, can’t recall every seeing one being used.
With a foot clutch, that might be something of challenge…….. 🙂

I have a reverse on my Ural and I woudn’t want a sidecar rig without one. It’s nice to know someone makes a gear reverse for HD’s that isn’t electric like the HD unit is. I could never understand why HD makes a beautiful and expensive sidecar unit but the reverse seems to be an afterthought. Yet, in the 30’s and 40’s you could get the reverse option in the transmission.
Parts # MB001-001 = Price: $1895.00
Doesnt sound like they “were able to lower the price of their reverse gear kit” to me.
