Matt Chun, digital publicist of the “American Chopper” series,  just sent me an email to remind me you that the end has come for the TV show. Tonight, Paul Teutul Junior. gathers the family together (without Dad) and makes a life changing announcement (can you guess?) I think it’s that they took Senior to the barber & had them shave his stache straight

  11. 11 just my opinion Feb 11th, 2010 at 11:23 am

It is kind of funny that Sr. thinks he is the star of the show and yet they have based the last show around Jr. And the fact that the show failed after Jr. and Mikey left tells who people really wanted to see. Seems that Sr. ego was to big for T.V. and that ain’t easy to do.
Will they build a clown bike for the last show in honor of Sr.?

  12. 12 Fausto of MotoXcycle.com Feb 11th, 2010 at 11:27 am

    What’s a T.V?

  13. 13 Jeff Nicklus Feb 11th, 2010 at 11:48 am

Does he announce that he is a cross dresser?????? Is it that he and Mikey are actually the same people????

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

  14. 14 Fredp Feb 11th, 2010 at 1:37 pm

Fausto? t.v. IS TELEVISION in America! ( I hope this was not a test of who would be dumb enough to answer that question!!!!!!!!!!!!!) PEACE!

  15. 15 George Feb 11th, 2010 at 1:41 pm

He meant it’s TV. Not T.V.

    Prediction 2010

Mickey will land a contract with Timex Watches.
His promos will have him wearing two watches one on each wrist enabling him to tell what time it is when the other hand is uncontrollable.

  20. 20 Fredp Feb 11th, 2010 at 3:12 pm

    For what it’s worth.
The old Man’s kids would not have accomplished what they did without Dad’s money, The show lasted way longer than any of us predicted, MADE way more money than any of us would ever see, and did bring attention to all manufacturers, custom builders, painters, whomever, than we would have gotten paying out the butt for our own promotions.
So, whatever any of us think, as hard as it is to admit, we all had a good ride for a few years because of them.

  21. 21 Scot Feb 11th, 2010 at 3:27 pm

My prediction is he’s gonna change his last name to his girlfriends last name when they get married…

  22. 22 Charlie Feb 11th, 2010 at 3:29 pm

    Cha-Ching!!!

  23. 23 Paul Feb 11th, 2010 at 8:32 pm

Say what you want about the kids.
Senior is a RAT ASS. Plain and simple.
Being a dad myself and not a perfect one I might say.
At least I try to be a good one.
Sad life for a man who only has a decade left on this side of the grass.
If he is lucky enough to have that much time left.
    Sad

I don’t know what all the fuzz is as Pauk Sr he just sits on his backside and comes in and out of the work shop,Vince should be given all the credit as he is the only one working all the time,Don’t forget OCC Got a large amount of money from the goverment to build the new shop,I have’nt seen Paul Sr make one bike in all the times I’ve watched the show,He is just bone lazy and now OCC will go bust thats a fact you wont even hear about them in a years time,Good luck Vince on your new business

  25. 25 disturbedvn Feb 11th, 2010 at 10:33 pm

Love em ? Hate em ? or anything in between I hope that no one will deny that this show help build the industry. It took bikes that were consider loud and obnoxious and turned them into a cool thing. Putting products and brand names into people faces every week during the refinance boom that allowed people to live beyond their means was great for the industry. I only hope that there will be another dysfunctional family that builds bikes to emerge soon and allow the posers to feel cool again. In the mean time we will only be able tell people about the ghost of OCC past while explaining why it takes longer then a hour to build a bike from “scratch” in the real world.

  26. 26 HAPPY ITS OVER Feb 12th, 2010 at 12:38 am

This guy is a shitty bike builder and father. This show was a joke. The bikes were a joke. It was the father son relationship that everyone related to not the bikes. I wish they had been in another business like lawnmower repair or something. Happy its over! But the reruns will last forever.

  27. 27 Jonesy Feb 12th, 2010 at 4:50 am

The real deal here, is that these guys like alot of others, who have come and gone…forgot what the show was about, building bikes. Commercialism and the offer of huge amounts of money, has taken its toll. I stopped watching the series after Number 2. Who cares about what they fight about. Most families fight about something, bringing it to the screen, as a ratings saviour? Nah….thats as bad as Springer….. Had they got back to basics, and fundamenatlly just built bikes without the who-har, then who knows where they would have ended up. In the end, these guys weren’t actors.., so they can’t really be blamed for acting out on screen…Craig Piligen and Associates made their money…so realistically who do you blame for the shows demise.

  28. 28 Scott Feb 12th, 2010 at 7:43 am

I am always amazed at the reaction of the sheeple. Last time I checked T.V. was fantasyland, and in no way reflected on my reality. The great unwashed masses tuned in, bought t-shirts and dreamed of bikerdom. OCC made their killing by being in the right place at the right time.

Much like so called “reality tv it has nothing to do with talent. It has everything about being overly dramatic. if Paul Sr. had been like Ward Cleaver the show would have lasted about 3 minutes before a mass exodus to some piece of shit show by Ellen Degenerate. Welcome to reality!

  29. 29 Jim C Feb 12th, 2010 at 9:02 am

I have always amazed by the comments of the guys who are jealous and who believe that they are so much better than the guys at OCC. Everyone of the guys who hate on OCC have an ego that more than rival Sr’s ego. Why is it you must always dwell on the negativity vs looking at all the good the show has done. The charities that were publicized, the people from the mainstream who were bought bikes and parts, ect. The positive aspects of this show far outweigh any of the so called negatives that some of you are so quick to harp on. I wish them well and hope that they get it worked out. I also hope that OCC continues to grow and contribute to the industry including the R&D that they have helped in. JMHO

  30. 30 Patrick Feb 12th, 2010 at 9:18 am

The clowns left the building. The circus is over. Don’t forget to turn off the lights.

  31. 31 Wikked Steel Feb 12th, 2010 at 11:06 am

There is no topic on this blog that generates more comments than OCC. Unless of course a thread goes WAY off course and into the thorny topic of politics. I have to agree with Jim C on this one. OCC, love or hate ’em did bring a lot of positive attention to this industry. And yes, a LOT of money not only for themselves but for vendors and for other builders who were more accessible to their clients to spend their money and build the bike vision of their dreams.
They also have inspired countless creative individuals to try their hands at motorcycle building. Maybe not all for the best but at least they were trying and once again, bought lots of parts from shops all over the country. Were they the best representation of a motorcycle builder? Far from it. But for whatever reason people watched, and they bought and they thought, either I want a nice custom bike too and hired someone to build it for them or attempted it themselves.
I found the drama distracting but the process, especially in the beginning, gave insight into metal fabrication 101, pattern making and in many cases, what NOT to do! And it was entertaining.
I know that to many people the OCC phenomenon is exactly the opposite of what being a biker or a bike builder is about and I truly understand that. But could you have kept your doors open this last decade if not for the rubs and wannabees?

Love ’em or hate ’em, if you’re in the industry, you have benefitted from their existence.

  32. 32 Sniperman Feb 12th, 2010 at 11:19 am

The show was a big success…………

If all of the haters with the big egos that think they are as good as builders and businessmen as the Teutel’s……guess again, you also would have had the brains as Sr. did to be at the right place at the right time and capitalized on a once in a lifetime opportunity and secure a future for themselves and their families respectively.

The show did more good than any other show EVER brought to the masses about the American chopper and the industry. Keep in mind that they had the right to showcase their show in ANYWAY they choose to. Some of you idiots out there criticized the show due to the drama. However, that was reality and still is reality for the Teutuls……and maybe it will never change. As a matter of fact, they are in a major legal battle as we speak…..and we would all agree that’s taking the drama factor to the next level!

The ratings of the show were fantastic…….it lasted for 7 years…..which is something incredible, so it doesn’t matter what some of you haters and losers have to say about it. The Teutel’s did something that none of you ever dreamed about doing. Let alone placed yourself in a position that you could have attained the level of success they attained. They created a financial empire and weather we hate it or not, they became the ambassadors to the general public while putting smiles on wounded soldier’s faces coming back from the war or handing out gifts at Children’s Hospitals. Their imagination was second to none……….and the world embraced them with open arms!!!! ……………….Yes, the world!!

And yes, we all have our demons. The old man came from nothing, started his iron business out of the back of an old pick-up truck……..fought alcohol and won……..and at the same time he was able to raise and provide the better things in life to his kids and family. I would most certainly tip my hat to Sr. for being a better father than half of the idiots that run out on their kids and go party it up for 18 years in a row. Get it??!!

The Teutel’s created and conquered their own American dream………….and included a lot of good people along the way.

So next time you start to criticize, look in the mirror and address your own demons accordingly. You will realize that it’s harder than it looks.

Oh…..one more thing…………….don’t think that the show is over……….cause it’s NOT!!

  33. 33 just my opinion Feb 12th, 2010 at 11:34 am

Jim C; You are right about how OCC has helped the industry but there is a side of all this that most don’t know like the fact that Sr. would call up companies and ask them to supply parts for free in exchange for having their banner hung in his shop during the filming of the show. Truth is most of those banners never saw the shop and those suppliers were never paid and never got credit for what they made or supplied. Sr. and Jr. alike took credit for many many things that they had no hand in. They also blamed their stupidity on others like when the Statue of Liberty bike was done OCC gave the dementions to Fat Kats to build the tank and yet when that tank was too small Sr. goes on TV and bad mouths Don from Fat Kats saying the OCC guys can do a better job. Reality is those guys at OCC had no clue how to build a tank at that point let alone build one out of polished copper, sure they later on learned how to build tanks but at the time of filming the Statue bike they were clueless. And yes they did a lot of charity work but I would bet most was for the sake of looking good on TV. I don’t have ill will towards these guys but I do know the truth and the truth is that they did do a lot of good for our industry but they also Fucked alot of people on the way and that is why most people in the industry have no time for Sr. or his bullshit. It is good that their show has ended maybe now someone with real talent and morals will get a chance to show the world that not ever bike builder is an arogant ass.

Let me guess… Sniperman is a Teutul ?

  35. 35 cwglide Feb 12th, 2010 at 1:13 pm

My sentiments exactly!!! Its finally over!! They were so out of touch with building unridable rediculous bikes. There were so many better shows out there. Like, Rick Fearless show “Stokers Dallas” and Jesse’s shows were also fabulous! The real deal.

I hope this is the last posers show Discovery!!!

  36. 36 Sniperman Feb 12th, 2010 at 2:32 pm

    Cwglide………your statements prove your ignorance.

The Stroker Dallas show was a disaster……..Fairless’s acting stunk worse than 10 day old fish at a Chinese Supermarket……..the only attribute to the show was his Mother…….That’s why it was taken off the air and it never returned.

Jesse James is a wannabe Mexican………..everybody is tired of him trying to act so cool with his tats, pretending he’s an outlaw/bad boy while running from the police and dating porn stars. Why don’t you ask him how much time he has really done or where he got his tattoos? I wouldn’t call him a celebrity by all means……….a pretender….maybe. He’s too cool for me……….and many other people feel the same way.

The Teutul’s are real people. Love them or hate them………….and they did more than any other so called show to the industry.

And once again, the show is not over.

    Thanks for the post Cyril.

  37. 37 Jesse James Feb 12th, 2010 at 2:54 pm

    Sniperman..

The simple fact that you say that show did “good” and those fags are “Real”. Shows what a retard you are.

American Choppers was a dumb show that was made for stupid motherfuckers by jackoff’s, and it obviously worked if you like it.

If I were you I would just keep quiet, and stop flexing your Non-intellect.

I’ll let your other little comments slide since this is the internet.

  38. 38 cwglide Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:04 pm

Ouch Sniperman, you have some good points regarding American Chopper. Yes it was the highest rated show on Discovery in its day. You would have to be blind not to admit they had some influence in making this industry more mainstream, just as the other shows did. It just wasn’t a show I enjoyed personally.

  39. 39 Wikked Steel Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:04 pm

Jesse, why not jump back in the game? I thought your show was great, my favorite was building the copper bike and subsequent Mexican road trip. You’ve got all the cool tools and know how to use them.

Monster Garage was very cool, it was nice seeing people that had never worked together, pull together and build something kick ass.

Someone needs to carry the fabrication torch.

  40. 40 Jimmy B Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:33 pm

Mr Teutul (or sniperman), I never saw Jesse James charging people to stand in a line at rallies to have a chance to look, just look at a Christmas bike… yes I said it correctly, a fucking Christmas bike. Opinions vary of course, but if you are in the industry or have been in touch with the industry for more than the last four years, everyone knows what Jesse did for the industry. Calling him a pretender only shows who the real ignorant one is.

  41. 41 slobber Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:41 pm

Anyone know why Japanese automakers kick American automakers’ collective ass? Because they WORK TOGETHER and they CHALLENGE EACH OTHER. It doesn’t matter that the Americans build better cars and trucks (they DO) or that they invented all of the technology that every attributes to the Japanese (they DID), as long as there continues to be infighting amongst the Americans they will never compete with the Japanese. All the same, as long as American motorcycle manufacturers continue this ridiculous infighting and name calling, they will continue to be outsold by foreign producers. You people should not be putting each other down, you should be praising each others’ successes and challenging each other to build better, more advanced motorcycles. As a buyer with a long history in this industry, the first thing that gets people escorted out of my office is to hear them bash against a competitor. I don’t want to hear it from suppliers, the public doesn’t want to hear it from you. People in this country do not mind paying more for quality, nor do they mind paying more for better support. If the general public read the threads on this forum/blog, they would never buy another American motorcycle.

American Chopper DID do a lot for this industry. The show was entertaining, else it would not have survived 7 years on television in this country, where people are more than happy to move on to the next thing if you do not entertain them within the first three minutes. I was not a regular viewer, but I have friends who were. Friends who did not know the first thing about motorcycles prior to this exposure. Now they are big time motorcycle fanatics. These are not “leather-bound biker dudes”, these are the suit-and-tie crowd, guys making six figure salaries, guys who can afford to buy big ticket items in this economy. And they all have. Every one of them has polished chrome sitting in their garage right now, waiting for riding season. They didn’t buy their motorcycles because of me and my influence, they bought them because shows like American Chopper, Monster Garage, Strokers and the Jesse James Rides Again shows made it cool again to own and ride a motorcycle. Call these guys posers or whatever you want, so long as you don’t want their business. If it weren’t for guys like these, and shows like American Chopper, many of us would not be in business today. I, for one, say God Bless to the Teutels and to Fairless and to Jesse James. My family, and the food on their table tonight, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Anyone who thinks it is easy to put your life on television for all to see needs to spend a day walking in their shoes.

  42. 42 Fluke Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:44 pm

OK, OCC bikes were craptastic, I am sure even they knew that. but they milked it for what it was worth. I will give them that.

But it was a squandered opportunity as far as custom bike building on TV was concerned. That first season or two they hit a nerve as far as what viewers wanted to watch. People do like to see other people making stuff or doing stuff they will not or can’t do themselves. Living life vicariously because their own lives suck. Isn’t that the point of reality TV.

But, like I said they squandered it.

Biker Build Off was mostly great. I would just love for something else along those lines to come along. Jesse James has the clout to make it happen, even though I am not a great fan of that whole bad boy/rebel image or his bikes, I can’t relate. Then, I am sure he wont like my bikes either or relate to me either.

But that is the point, their is a whole gamut of different styles, different talent, different personalities out there, BBO showcased the diversity of that talent. American Chopper just became a cathedral to worship at the alter of one man’s talentless ego.

  43. 43 Jeff Nicklus Feb 12th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

    Sniperfag,

Bet you $1000.00 right now you wouldn’t have the heart to say that to Jesse’s face! Hell, make that $10K. I don’t hide behind some AKA internet name either so if you want to take the bet let me know. Now go lick you nuts in the corner JR.

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

  44. 44 Sniperman Feb 12th, 2010 at 5:14 pm

Hey James…….just like I figured….your nothing but a pretender bad ass and your statements prove it…..

However, let’s see how tough you really are……. so please answer the following questions:

    1. How much time have you really done?…..and what crime did you commit? you always act like your a bad ass. Please tell us.

    2. How many times have you been locked up before for eluding police?

You know James……it’s not a good thing to serve time………so I’m not giving you a grade on your crimes…..however, I am grading you on wannabe tough guy/outlaw persona that you try to portrait.

I’m willing to bet that you’ve never done a day behind bars in your life! Truthfully James, all of the idiots that follow you, are a bunch of wannabes themselves.

You see James, I’ve been in law enforcement all my life. I served my country in two wars and I would do it again if I had to. I ride a 1993 Road King with 138,000 plus miles and 3 rebuilds later. I still love her and she loves me. So you see, I’m not a big shot by all means, but rather a humble simplistic old man that is retired and I find this blog quite entertaining. Cyril has done a great job in getting people like us to agree to disagree. I check this blog daily for interesting articles that get published. I truly enjoy the controversy and different points of view.

Calling Pauly a fag for announcing his engagement to his family is stupid, immature and down right ignorant. In reality, it tells all of us bloggers here, the type of person that you really are……….but it’s something I already knew.

So in reality……you did it to yourself…..you were dumb enough to stick your neck out there….and guess what???!!!!…………..think about it………Yes, you called yourself out by your own statements that came from you mouth!

I’m willing to bet that you don’t answer the questions that I listed above………..which means that the truth of the matter is that you are not the tough guy that you portrait to be.

The Teutels never tried to be somebody else……..specially the outlaw/bad boy that you try to be so hard…….rather they were just themselves and that’s it, nothing more and nothing less.

Now, I suggest that you keep YOUR BIG mouth shut due to the fact that you’ve dug yourself a very deep hole that I seriously don’t think that you have the brains to get yourself out of.

Love and Peace to the world!!!!!!……..Sniperman.

  51. 51 fuji Feb 12th, 2010 at 6:42 pm

    Sniper man.

    Sniperman

Sounds like a little bit of Paul senior ego or bad ass on your part.

You need to learn How to Cope With Having Fantasies That Will Never Come True working on a Harley is standard practice not bike building.

Man ! I can appreciate your age but not your logic. My suggestion is that you should have some one close to you proof read what you post.

The only word of caution would be that they may Baker act you like Paul senior should be.

Be cautious of what you print. Dementia seems to be prevalent.

I will put my money on JJ any day.

May I ad that I have seen many of the OCC bikes . Two wheeled trinkets. Fact if you believe in these guys so much go buy one of their bikes and roast that Hog.

I have seen several of JJ’s bikes.

Fact I looked JJ”S bikes over and over and I was impressed with the quality of his construction.

I questioned , are they as good as proclaimed . Yes they are

  52. 52 Jeff Nicklus Feb 12th, 2010 at 6:55 pm

    Sniperman,

Does someone have to have a prison record to be a tough guy? I don’t think so!

I have known Jesse for damn near 15 years and I can tell you he is an all around great guy that has more talent and ambition in his little finger than you can ever hope to imagine.

Jealousy does not become you Jr.

    Enjoy your forced retirement!

    Over & Out,

Thank god, I’ll never hear that kind of crap again . . .

  54. 54 Jesse James Feb 12th, 2010 at 7:17 pm

    Sniperfag..
Since you are so fascinated with prison life?

Why don’t you and Pauly Butt fuck and get it over with? It’s obvious that what you want..

As far as the “2 wars”…I bet you’re one of those fake vets that buys “Combat Veteran” stickers off of ebay for the back of your pick up aren’t you?

    You’re a fake James………a big fake………

I knew that you didn’t have the balls to answer my questions……we all know the truth now.

Nicklus……stop kissing his ass…….don’t be a follower………have a backbone….this isn’t about weather James is a good guy or not……..this is about him running his BIG MOUTH, judging and calling people out as fags………considering the fact that he tries to give the impression that he’s a tatted out outlaw that is always in trouble with the police but in reality it’s all a big scam. Who is he to judge?!….Ever heard the quote about not throwing stones if you are a glass house??!!

At least Jr. is not a fake……

I wish Fairless the best with his new show……..and that it fulfills all of his dreams…or keeps him busy for a while…..I’ll take a peek at it and go from there.

Love and Peace to the world!!!!………..Sniperman

    Sorry Snipe- you spell too well to ever have been in law enforcement;

Dude- “balls”? “ass” “peek”? Could you BE any more in the closet?

Just another poser with internet muscles…… Hey, how bout a badge number, stud?

What are you afraid of? Other than balls and ass, of course……

  58. 58 just my opinion Feb 12th, 2010 at 8:08 pm

What exactly is the reason some of you think Jr. is a fag? Is it the fact that he has sold more T-shirts than bikes? Is it that he has left the bike building seen only to return? Maybe its because he has built bikes for famous people? Maybe its because his bikes were over priced? I wonder who has built more bikes Jesse or OCC? Maybe its because they have names that sound made up Sr. Jr.? I am not a fan of OCC but they have built more and sold more bikes than anyone on this blog including Jesse and Jeff. Whether you want to admit it or not they have done a lot for this industry some good and some bad. Ask any kid on the street if they know who OCC is and most will say Sr. and Jr. Tuetel, ask those same kids who Jesse James is and most will say he is a cowboy that robbed trains. Then ask them if they have any clue who Jeff Nichlas is. Most will say who? Can’t we all just get along?

  59. 59 Doggy Feb 12th, 2010 at 8:11 pm

    Sniperman,

What’s your deal? I am in the biz too – I was in the booth across from OCC in NYC before they became known – they sat in lawn chairs with 3 people interested in their bikes. 2 years later there was a line (of moms and little kids) to see them, although Paul Jr. was more interested in sleeping late than in showing up at the convention center on time to meet the fans that waited hours to see him. Screw him, and screw OCC. You say they did stuff for this industry? What did they do? The people they brought into the industry were soccer moms who wore OCC shirts around, and high school kids who thought Mikie was a funny guy. No serious bikers ever considered OCC to be much more than a joke, and I certainly don’t think they expanded this industry.

As for the comments about JJ – what does doing time have to do with anything? Is that the mark of a ‘real biker’? I hate to sound like a suck ass, but I will say this anyway… JJ is a “real biker” because he actually makes his own parts, has his own style, and builds what he likes. He isn’t affected by what sells best on TV. How much more real does it get? The most important tool in the OCC shop has always been the phone – so they can call up and order the parts they need to put together a bike.

I don’t really care so much about the personalities, who has more tats, who has a cooler hairdo, who has a more “I don’t give a shit’ attitude. I care how a bike looks. And I like the style of WCC bikes. They just look good. They flow nicely, they have a unique style.

OCC has a Pez bike, a Reindeer bike. A talking bass bikes. Gimme a f’in break. If WCC is the Doors of bike building, then OCC is the Brittney Spears of bike building.

They are a joke, always have been, always will be. Won’t be long before the note on the shop gets to be a bit too overbearing and they shut ‘er down for good.

    Go Jeff!!! 🙂

I doubt if you remember we had conversation about the RUBs in Daytona in 1998 or 1999 maybe even 2000. Maybe they own the “Biker World now. 71. 71 Jim C Feb 13th, 2010 at 11:25 am

Slobber-excellent post that a lot of guys should take heed of. I won’t go into my opinion of JJ but suffice it to say that I respect him for some of the stuff he does and have no respect for other stuff he does. I believe he has a way bigger ego than either of the Pauls.at OCC.I have to agree with Sniperman concerning what Doggy was saying as I know that OCC makes quite a few of the parts at their facility. I also know that any show on TV concerning bike building has called the manufacturers to get “free” parts. Every show has called. Whether it was parts or equipment, every show has called with their hands out.
I have to go back to Slobber’s post and state again that those within the industry need to heed his words as it would make a huge difference in how the rest of the world percieves the industry. A lot of you are cutting off your nose to spite your face and that includes guys like JJ, Of course JJ has made enough money that he would never have to work again if he so chose to. It is unfortunate that does not choose to help make a positve difference but he really is too wrapped up in his own thing to bother. I won’t judge him for that but I have seen OCC do way more good for charities and the military than JJ has ever even thought about doing. JJ has made enough that he can tell someone to go screw themselves (and he frequently does) and not care about the consequences of his actions. The biggest problem in this industry is the size of the egos that are prevalient within the industry and that will probably not change. I do find it interesting that Jesse would even bother to read this particular piece about anything to do with OCC,interesting…. and even comment about it-good or bad.
As far as Rick Fairless, there is not a better man within the industry. He speaks from the heart and is a straigh shooter. I have sat in a couple of classes, lectures, whatever that he has done at V Twin Expo and It is not hard to see that he is one of those guys who truly sees what it takes to try and help the industry as a whole. I have great respect for him. He is just a guy who really likes or should I say loves to ride and build bikes. Nothing but respect here Rick and I totally agree with Slobber when I say thank you.I also found your shows entertaining which is what they were supposed to be.I also liked all the shows that has done and appreciated each one for what they were. JJ builds a good bike. I think they are priced quite high for what they are but, hey, supply and demand dictates the price. I won’t go into the whole thing about cutting off the blue collar guy on the parts side of his business which I thought was hypocritical on his part but it is his business.
My hope is that this year the industry can start getting back on track, people start realizing what it is really costing all of us by having manufacturing done in China and those with the outspoken big egos that talk bad of others in the industry realize how much damage it does to the industry but to themselves as well. People are at the point that they do not want to hear negativity and will distance themselves from those who are spouting off about someone else. Kinda like, time to wake up and smell the coffee. I hope that everyone stays on the positive side of the bottom line this year.

  72. 72 Jeff Nicklus Feb 13th, 2010 at 1:07 pm

    Sniperman,

I don’t know where you get the impression I (Desperado) was out of business …. nothing could be further from the truth. I have offered Desperado for sale …. that hardly means I am out of business. As a matter of fact I just rehired a couple of people who were on lay off from Desperado. You need to recheck your facts with Cyril before running your head. Further, since one of my “Bigger” competitors is now having some major financial problems I have withdrawn my offer to sell Desperado.

As for me sucking up to Jesse, I don’t think so , I just stand up for my friends especially against some jealous want-to-be $%&#sucker like yourself.

    Just my Opinion,

As of yesterday, February 12, 2010, I have manufactured 4,128 motorcycles with Desperado …. and I have produced 86 Signature Series bikes I personally built ….OCC couldn’t wipe the sweat from my …. you get the idea. What has OCC produced … 50 maybe?

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

  74. 74 just my opinion Feb 13th, 2010 at 2:37 pm

Jeff; Congradulations on building 4128 bikes that truely is a shit load of motorcycles and you should be proud of that fact. But that being said you still must admit, like it or not OCC is more well known than Jesse James, You or Desperado motorcycles. I don’t know how many bikes OCC has produced but they have built and sold more than 50 bikes by a long shot. They do make a lot of their parts just as you do at Desperado. As you know I am not a fan of Sr. or Jr. but if we are to be honest we must admit that OCC has brought some new people into the bike world. Now it is a fact that those people are for sure not going to be 1% bikers but they will buy parts from some of the builders in this industry and that does help our industry. I am sure that out of those 4128 bike some of those were sold to new bike riders and that has also helped the industry. If we all just sit around and wait for the same people that own bikes already to buy new bikes there would be hardly any motorcycle industry. Lets not forget that we were all new riders at one point. Personally I started out on a mini bike when I was in second grade. I don’t think that makes me better or worse than anyone else that rides. As for Jesse I think we all have to admit he is the one that got all the TV shows about motorcycles started and for that he should be very proud. He will go down in motorcycle history as a huge figure in the industry because of the fact he started all the TV motorcycle show stuff, but because he is the one that got all the shows started he is the reason OCC has become so big. Jesse created the opening for OCC and their show. We all need the wide range of personalities that make up the world of bikes. From the 1%ers to the Yuppies that ride once or twice a year they all contribute to the over all health of our industry. I say God bless them all. I hope every one of them gets at least one of their friends involved in motorcycles. The more the merrier. This industry needs new blood with out it we are all doomed to failure.
Anyway thats my two cents worth take it for what its worth. Hope you all have a great weekend.

  75. 75 Spencer Feb 13th, 2010 at 4:20 pm

Since ’06, OCC has purchased well over 400 production model frames from us, that I know for a fact have been turned into motorcycles, as I also know have sold. In addition to that for the last 3 years they have bought over 100 one off frames for their TV shows. How many bikes they built before dealing with us we don’t know.

BTW OCC has always treated us professionally, have never asked for anything for free, in fact have always paid up front for everything and are some of the nicest people we’ve had the pleasure of working with.

  76. 76 john reed Feb 13th, 2010 at 4:51 pm

Jr comes across on television to be a lot more sensitive and sophisticated
than the Macho image Jesse James tries to portray, but even tho he looks like a pussy,
I reckon if it came down to it Jr could kick Jesse’s Ass.

  77. 77 Jeff Nicklus Feb 13th, 2010 at 5:27 pm

    Spencer,

Looked for you in Cincinnati …. all I could find was Sam! During our last telephone conversation we talking about doing a prototype frame at some point in the future …. it is time to pursue that. Drop me an email and we can schedule a time to talk. j.nicklus@desperadomotorcycles.com .

    Just my Opinion,

I would be the first to agree that OCC is better known than me and possibly even JJ ….. I would further submit that there would have never been an OCC if Hugh King and Pilgrim Productions had not done the first Motorcycle Mania with Jesse. OCC was and is nothing more than #2 in that respect. OCC has done very well for themselves and to that end I say good for them, however, it will be a cold day in hell when you, or anyone else for that matter, get me to agree that OCC was beneficial to this industry ……. in my humble opinion they are nothing more than t-shirt salesman. Like I said, that is my opinion. Personally I and Desperado were doing VERY WELL prior to OCC and we will do well after OCC. I for one am happy that the fat lady has finally sung their funeral march. Now I have to get back to the drag races!

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

  78. 78 just my opinion Feb 13th, 2010 at 6:13 pm

Jeff; You seem to be confusing helping you and your company with OCC having been good for the industry. I am glad you were doing well before OCC and have no doubt that you and your company will do well long after the OCC bit has run its course. But whether you like to admit it or not OCC has bought parts from people in this industry and that has helped those parts manufactures. Spencer has posted that his company or the company he works for has sold OCC 400 frames that has surely helped that company. I too am glad OCC is done but even though I personally think Sr. is an ass if I am to be honest I must admit his business has helped some in this industry by purchasing parts and OCC has brought new blood into this bike community. I am certainly not trying to make you like them or give them credit for anything they have not done but all that being said sometimes a clown like Sr. can help an industry. Just look at what ronald McDonald has done for burgers. Enjoy the drags and have a great day.

  79. 79 fuji Feb 13th, 2010 at 6:25 pm

Promoting motorcycles is a good cause but when tainted with poor representation as in the Tuetuls a subliminal message has been impregnated into the minds of many that do not filter the Subliminal Message that has by passed the conscious mind. Young and old as noticed in this blog.

It is the youth that is going to carry the torch of the industry into the future

To have such a dysfunctional group [ Tuetuls ] to be the foremost thought in the minds of those that pursue bike building is a sham.

It’s the producers that should receive all the credit for this gross misrepresentation of motorcycling and their poor judgement for personal gain.

It is harder to look for good representation and validity than look for a poster child with a bad script and dysfunctional characters.

To give accolades to the Tuetuls for promoting bike building humors me.

    MY POINT !
Something like having the Devil teach Sunday school to promote religion.
If you’re such a believer then send your children and live with it. IF THATS THE BEST YOU CAN DO !

  80. 80 Doggy Feb 13th, 2010 at 7:38 pm

    Sniper,

You didn’t address anything I said, you simply wrote a bunch more insults. When that’s all you have for a reply, it means I won the argument.

I’ve been in this business for over 10 years and sold millions of $$$’s worth of parts. I’ve seen plenty of pretenders come and go, and the simple fact is WCC was very popular long before OCC became popular – and WCC did it based on building nice looking bikes that people want to own. OCC became popular from arguing on TV and building Reindeer bikes, Pez bikes, Bass Fish bikes. And when the TV shows end, WCC are still making bikes that look good and that people desire to own, and OCC are sitting around with their thumbs up their ass wondering how they are gonna keep the shop open.

As for what makes “a real biker” that is the dumbest question and discussion I’ve ever heard. If you ride a bike, you are a biker. Lawyers who ride on the weekends are bikers. Guys who only own one vehicle and it’s a 70’s Harley that they ride 20k miles a year on are bikers. Guys on sportbikes are bikers. People who talk about what a ‘real biker’ is are losers who are trying to elevate themselves by creating some sort of exclusive club that they belong to.

It ain’t exclusive. Pretty much anyone could be a biker – deal with it.

Nobody cares about OCC and their bikes – deal with that too.

JJ’s personality and character and history mean NOTHING. The fact of the matter is the man is a good craftsman, and I respect that. And he has a good eye for style and design. I respect that too. OCC have no craftmanship ability, nor do they have an eye for style. That’s why they are the running joke of the bike industry.

    Hey Jesse:
Just to get something off my chest that has been stuck in my craw. I don’t like the style of the bikes you build. The electrics are a shambles. BUT, I’ve never seen a guy more talented on sheetmetal. Your feel for the iron is inspiring. I think the WCC show should have just been you working steel. Now. that would have been something I’d have tuned in. Your wheels are good, but shit, all that entails is having a 400k CNC multi-tool, and someone who knows the software.
Now, if you’d put some effort into a S&S KN motor, Baker 5 ina 4 and a 40’s styled bike. The possibilities are intriguing..

What will we ever do to kill our gray matter with the loss of such true drama television.
I’m not kissing ass here but to be honest that show will be as missed as much as the Golden Girls…
Naa I take it back I like those old Panthers.

The truth is those effers were no talent tools that made people laugh because they pull bumpers off SUVs, all they did for the industry were make sales greatly increase for brands advertised or used that’s it. Aside from that, who really cares if they are gone, and to be honest after they “borrowed” a few ideas from not only me but several others in the biz and claimed them to be the ingenious mind blowing creations they had in their arsenal, I could not wait for this day to come.

Jesse is where he is today like it or not due to the fact he busted his ass and got this thing off the ground long before the turd-els.

I am not kissing his ass, I am just pointing out the fact that he said he would and did, got his hands dirty in the shop and ended up where he is today …that’s that.
So don’t bitch he has shit together and knows what works, it makes you look silly and uninformed.

TV will exploit a train wreck cuz you can’t turn away.
It will make your cry when you favorite skezza gets the ax from Flava Flav.
It will make you watch that clip on you tube of that loud mouthed Jersey Shore chic getting popped in the mouth over and over again.
Overhaulin, Two Guys Garage, Monster Garage or Biker Build Off might have inspired you to get in the shop and wrench on sumthin.
Years of OCC and their overdone theme bikes should give you a new found respect for simplicity of design and respect to fluid lines and put a little function before form or at least find a healthy balance of all.

I have nothing to say about Paul Jr. designs. I have no idea what could come of that…. I’m just sayin.

I do wish I had all those resources that they have there at the World Headquarters. World Headquarters……….that makes me giggle.

    My two cents,
I’am just a guy who likes motorcycles. All of them. I don’t want all of them, I just like them, for what they are. I’ve had them on and off (when I could afford them) for many years. In the end it’s wind in my face.
When the shows and motorcycle scene took off, I wanted and waited, went out on a limb and was blessed enough to own a Big Bear pro street sled. Man I loved that bike. Then everything went downward.. And it went away.
I grew up at a time when if you posed like a biker.. A real biker would come along and beat your ass. You feared stepping on toes out of respect. It was a time of being true to yourself and orfthe arts and of love and peace. That kind of bulshit.
Fast forward to this blog…. All of this is fake.. Not real…Bikes.. My show and bikes are the best.. Your gay! They did nothing for this or that.. Jesse James(if that really is you) He has someone who gets paid to stir shit up.. Keep him marketable. Like he would ever have time.. Rick Fearless.. Right! Him too. I guess I bought in also.. Here I am. But what has and is this all about???????? Money.. This as an industry as some put it would be nothing with out it.. Oh yeah and the people who give it to you. None of you would have an opinion either. What is it you all believe in? Money! Cause if you wasn’t making it or didn’t make it. You alI would be doing something else to get it. The tattoo on Jesse’s hand ?? Do you remember just trying to pay the bills. That’s where I am.. I bought into that money bullshit too…That’s how things come and go.
How bout a little respect.. First of all for what you are able to do. And then for everyone that allows you to do it? EVERYONE. That’s why it isn’t what it use to be. Lack there in. Speaking of? Sniperman! I’am retired LEO too.. People like you are the reason I’am retired… I get grouped with you.. Thanks BRO! One last thing! As a big man once said…” The truth will set you free.” Walk the walk. Good thing motorcycles can’t blog cause they would have ruined it for me.. Thanks for the entertainment.. Jamie

Bonenoz1,just a guy saying it like it is. You have cut through all the BS and sees it for what it is. There is another part to it and most on here work in this industry because we love what we do. The bonus is that we are able to do what we love. Sometimes it is not always about the money but for the most part it is. Thanks for saying what you said.

I believe that Sniperman is correct. I know what the family is going through right now do to the fact that this has happened to my family. It is not fun to go through and I am hoping that they can over come this.

Plus the show was a major success. I hope that it comes back and I would understand if it didn’t. The difference between the Teutuls and my family would be that there were no cameras following us around.

I’m “praying” that they can work it out and move on. Otherwise they are going to miss out on a lot of amazing memories.

I just finished reading all the comments concerning the demise of the OCC show , left by some of you and the long winded ones I read are quite delusional in fact .who infuenced what and who did who and who fucked you and him and her YAYA—- Sr. built 2 businesses , one without JR.,one with , The one with, made money hand over fist ,Jr.just wasn’t able to be a responceable business man there wasn’t a show that he didn’t come to work LATE,SR ran the bus.,jr built the bikes , Time will tell if he(JR) makes it now ,now he’ll know what his dad’s been crying about all these years. This JR is just another posers, and alway’s probably will be.Non of them have lived the 1% life and don’t have the balls to try. The bikes they build ,well the FAD is over ,the big tire thing has ended all ago, The bikes i was building 35+yrs.,ago are still in style,But I don’t care to make money on the stuff I build cause there for me or If somebody I know wants me to build one for them I will. Ask jay Leno if the bike they built for him was any good ,NO, And by what I understood they wouldn’t stand by there own work!!–so money isn’t everything family is the most important thing in life, if you don’t have family you don’t have ANYTHING, take it from one who hasn’t any family left, so what I’m saying in a nut shell is —make the money “second” family first, today I’m retired at 54, building a new bike and hope to see you soon on the road—-WTF-FTW

It’s a shame to see greed tear the family up,, show was interesting and a hoot to watch at times. Sr seemed like a real D-bag as a father,, Jr did look part time at the shop,, Mikey was AWESOME,,Vinnie and Rick were the skill.

Jesse James coming on here and acting like a little window licking jealous chode is funny, OCC blew your doors off,,, your first show was good,, that crap your peddling now is a joke. The past few months have shown what a loser you really are crawl back under your rock,, who careS if you can work metal,, your a dick and a poser.

I will say this…Paul Sr. did get his son involved in this very successful company…but if you watch the show, from the very first episode on, Paul Jr created the bikes, period! It was his creative thought processes that made these bikes work. To have your father come into the shop and continually berate you, yell at you, pick at any and all flaws of Jrs, it’s really ridiculous. So Jr came in late alot, big deal…he owns part of the biz, and more importantly, he NEVER missed a deadline!! He will mature into a good business owner…working for your dad is not easy, been there done that.

“HAPPY IT’S OVER” says they OCC builds “shitty bikes”…really?! Are you out of your friggin mind?!? Why don’t you put up photos of the bikes you’ve created?! I’m not saying there aren’t other great bike builders out there, but OCC builds some nice bikes.

People hating on PJD… it’s hard to understand. His dad takes swipes at him as often as he possibly can…and as a father myself, I just don’t get it. He should be wishing his son well, not trying to destroy him!! All of Paul Sr’s kids have gone through alot of crap due to there father….read the story, read what Paulie has gone through…I wish him the best and hope he is very successful, whatever he does or continues to do….
