    What a mistake!

Biker’s Choice must be very, very desperate. Proof again that there is juice for the Teutuls to take not only from the public at large but even from the motorcycle industry. Shame.

More drama and more crappy bikes.

Why do some of you people feel the need to bash JR. and everything he does?
Truth be told, most of you would be doing the same thing he is doing IF you had half the chance to do it. And as for Bikers choice they are being smart business people by backing him. They will get lots of advertising exposure. Anyone that knows anything about advertising will tell you that the more people that see your ad the better you will do. And I bet most of you will watch the new show whether you will admit it or not, just like you all watched American Chopper. Claim all you want that you never watched American Chopper but the truth is if you never saw the show you would not have an opinion on JR. or his father. Everyone in the motorcycle industry knows who the tuetles are and most people that own a T.V. know who they are. More people like them than those that don’t like them and those of you that don’t like them probable don’t buy from Bikers choice anyway so it don’t matter. This deal is good for JR. and Good for Bikers Choice and no one cares if some of you negative people like it, your opinions don’t mean anything to anyone. Maybe that is why you are so bitter and constantly bash everyone. And I mean that in a good way so have a nice day.

Agree with “just my opinion” Steve Johnson is a first rate business man and knows what he is doing. Just look how since Steve Johnson took over at T/R and BC the company has grown into a first rate motorcycle industry power house. Running neck and neck with Fred Fox and his Parts Unlimted and Drag operations. But Steve Johnson does it with great customer service and with a great business sense about him. Steve Johnson in our opinion has made a good deal for T/R and BC………..GREAT JOB Steve………………the naysayers that comment here just don’t get it and never will.

At this point and time, any punch to the arm for the market is welcomed. Owning a shop things have slowed. Most guys and gals are only spending what they HAVE to to keep their ride on the road. Being a dealer for Bikers Choice I look forward to the hour long infomercial to boost the bolt on market again and await the new influx of cash back to the shop. Thanks Paul Jr. & Bikers Choice. I only hope soon I can thanking Custom Chrome and Paul Sr.

Good match, a bolt on supplier and a bolt on builder . . .

The only one that is going to make out from this deal is China.

  11. 11 Bobby Jul 15th, 2010 at 10:35 am

Paul Jr and Taiwan Ted! A match made in Heaven! Now all you American bikers, builders and motorcycle shop employees can see where all your designing efforts, innovative ideas and jobs went. V Twin is owned by Ted’s Cycle and Ted is famous for copying any motorcycle part he can get his hands on regardless of ownership or brand name. He has no respect for US Trademark law and challenges anyone to sue him over it, as he does have very deep pockets and can afford to fight and even loose. A clear window into what’s wrong with the American business conscience. Our jobs are not lost because of the Chinese, but because of the American companies who choose to remove production from America and take it to China, hire and fund Chinese manufacturing then sell it back to us, get rich and destroy manufacturing in the USA. Many of you may enjoy the savings in purchasing such parts, but did you ever calculate the true cost of the. Many of you have paid for them with your jobs and livelihoods!

  12. 12 Bobby Jul 15th, 2010 at 10:45 am

A boycott of both V Twin and the show would be the only logical answer or atleast rename the show to ” Paul Jr’s and V Twin’s Chinese Cheating,Theiving Not Made in America Motorcycle Build Series Posers Challenge”.

    JMO,

    Just an observation …..

Have you ever noticed that only the Vendors and/or suppliers of materials or services to the OCC Clan seem to be the only ones who ever defend them on this blog? Wonder why that is? Surely it doesn’t have anything to do with the almighty dollar, now does it ? nah!

I for one will not be watching the show, I have more important things to do, like cut my toe nails or something, however, I do wish them (the OCC Clan as well as Bikers Choice) well and hope they all make a ton more $$$$, the economy and those on welfare need the support from their tax dollars!

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

a man walks into a store and sees an item being made by the store owner and he sees it is good and people like it and people want it, and it is sold at a good price. and he thinks to himself…

i can make that and i can sell that and i can sell it for a larger profit and i can get more people making more of these and … geez there is a small industry here that i can run out of business by over saturation.

    and he does just that!

and thus is the story of the custom motorcycle craze.

everybody wanted a piece of the pie, and while some came and went (good ridance) others just don’t have a clue.

Paul Jr. has alot of talent and does some great work ,I wish him the best especially in these hard times, but all the major builders are having a go at it now………Lets hope better times are right around the corner………

  17. 17 David Jul 16th, 2010 at 12:36 am

JMO….I guess your right but you also know how to do self analysis as your opinions dont count either…… good or bad ….up or down…..in or out…..

There should be a show to let everyone out there see the real Turtles. Is Jr. going to do the same thing to his next painter like they did to Justin? Or will he call other fabricators for ideas like he did before. For those of you who realy haven’t been around this industry and just watch brain dead tv. Justin painted most if not all of their bikes. How much was he paid you say? Zilch, nada, zero… The Turtles told him it was because he got to be on tv. When Justin stood up for himself to the old man. They made him look like shit to the whole world. As for Jrs. design skills thats a joke! Does anyone remember the fire truck bike? Jr. was shown on tv drawing a picture of the tank on a piece of paper, Jr. forgot to mention that he had been calling Kyle at Independent Gas tank for a month having him design the tank for the bike. Kyle stood his ground and told him sure I’ll build the tank, send me the frame and camera crew to show everyone out there who realy does the work. Everyone out there saw someone else build Kyles design. The funny thing about it. Kyles additude was fuck’m I never like them to begin with. I’m sure Jr. and the old man read this blog, everyone does. How bout it Turtles are you ever going to respond? Or are you going to put your heads back inside your shells?
    I thought so….
Hey Mickey… this beers for you

I like Jr designs no matter how much he is critisized.Black widow is perfect example of his talent.
Good luck to both Jr and Bikers choice.

Who drove out Vinnie, Cody, Jr.? It was Sr’s staged/unstaged tirades. Who would even look forward to going to work at OCC? Why start pointing fingers at Jr. now? He’s taking a big step. He’s where he needs to be. Yelling just for the sake of yelling doesn’t work. Staged camera B.S. doesn’t work with bikers. Look at Rick Fairless’s 100 % staged (if you even call that a show) show. That was biker TV at it’s worst. Sr. needs to get a grip. I hope theres a build-off/public vote and Sr’s sissy bar bike loses.

  21. 21 mikeout Jul 16th, 2010 at 12:24 pm

Why is Vinnie even going back to work for Jr.? He had his own shop, or was because he found out that it takes alot of CASH out of pocket to run a buisness. Or is it because Jr. will call a ton of companies for free machinery and CHINA parts Did he ever sell any bikes? I saw him on Pass Time once, just trying to stay on tv any way he can I guess. By the way, if you can bend a stick and you can use a mig gun you to can build a black widow bike. Nothing but flashy anodized wheels and a half way desent paint job. jatinder pal if you think that is a nice bike, you REALY need to go to some quality bike shows. Get off the couch and put that bowl of ice cream down, hell go for a walk you could probably use to loose a few pounds. Call Jr. he may need another janitor to show Mickey what to do.
Cheers MICKEY… this beers for you!

Let’s face it, OCC is just a mediocre builder at best. However, they got a great opportunity and made the most of it. There’s not a builder out there, including myself, that would not have done the same thing. They are smart enough to realize that companies don’t come to them for the bikes. They want the media exposure. That’s why both Sr. and Jr. will do anything to stay on TV. That’s why Sr. let Jr. out of his non-compete. When the cameras are turned off, the corporate clients paying $100Ks for bikes go away, merchandise sales drop off, and their star fades. However, if they can stay on TV everyone in the industry benefits. If you don’t know how to benefit from their success, then maybe you’re not cracked up to be in the industry. It amazes me how jealous other builders are of the money these guys make. They attack their bikes not realizing the bikes are irrelevant. Let’s face it, there’s a reason camera crews aren’t following you around… you’re not interesting.

    Celebrating mediocrity.

  24. 24 Free Rider Jul 18th, 2010 at 1:36 am

I do agree with “Alex”, the whole industry has benefited from this TV show. It made all family members know what is a custom bike. Im located outside the States and know that it did work !!

  25. 25 just my opinion Jul 18th, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Jeff Nicklus; if it were true that only vendors getting the OCC dollars are the only people that watch or support OCC they “OCC” would be out of business and off the TV screen. I was just making an observation as to how so many on this site bash them but seem to know all there is to know about OCC. You can’t know what they are up too if you don’t watch, there fore I would have to say their fans and even those that claim to not like them watch American chopper as they surely will watch the new show.

David; You are absolutely right none of our opinions count and that was part of the message I was trying to get across. It makes no sense to bash someone that couldn’t care less what you say.

I personally am no fan of OCC but I do have enough knowlage of this industry to know that they have had an impact. Whether you believe that impact to be good or bad is just another opinion but the truth is they have had a impact on how people veiw this industry and the toys we all ride. And one thing Jeff has mentioned that is true is that many people in this industry have profited from OCC and the impact they have made. But I doubt that Jeff would go so far as to admit that OCC has had a positive effect.

Did Pauj Jr open that cute little boutique with his girlfriend? I was hoping for a reality show about that… Jr designing and selling womens purses and stuff. That would have been off the hook.

  27. 27 JimC Jul 19th, 2010 at 8:17 am

For the most part,I agree with Just My Opinion. The show has helped many, many people in the industry including Justin. No one even knew of Justin before he did some of the paint jobs on the show. Now everyone knows Justin and his work. 99% of the painters out there would do a few paint jobs for free if those were going to be shown the world over.In terms of money,I guarantee you that Justin got work from all over at probably twice what he would normally think of getting for his work.
As far as Biker’s choice,I have always thought they had the lower end of the scale when talking quality parts but it has been a long time since I looked at what lines they have available. I have been thinking of adding another supplier and maybe Biker’s Choice would fit the bill. 😉

  28. 28 JimC Jul 19th, 2010 at 8:20 am

Oh,for those of you who keep telling Mikey that “this beers for you”. The guy is an alcoholic and the most hateful thing would be to offer an alcoholic a beer. To me,this shows what kind of guys you are and where it says-Leave a Reply,it says to avoid hateful language and respect others. You all must have missed that one. I give Mike credit for admitting his problem and then going somewhere to work on handling his problem.

  29. 29 afpgdp Aug 12th, 2010 at 8:51 pm

you go Paul Jr. I hope it is all good for all of you. Just don’t forget it takes 100% for your time to make a go of your shop. I know you can do this. Good luck to bout you and Mike.

  30. 30 Grafxguy Aug 19th, 2010 at 11:59 pm

Well I am not a builder, and to be honest I dont ride anymore, but i enjoy watching he show, because it is a show i can watch with my family. No 1% er BS, It does show a lot of cookie cutter bikes, but at least there is some element of what goes into a bike build. I really dont care who does the work. If you were on the show discovery compensated you, maybe not a million dollars, but hey we cant all have 5 mil houses, and warehouses full of cars. Justin was an average painter at best, and yes other people were cut out of the show, that’s called EDITING, the show is about OCC, and the big money sponsors who pay the bills at Discovery channel/TLC. The industry is suffering all around, I am part of that due to lay offs from cutbacks. So anything fluff or not that gives us a shot in the arm, I am all for it. I hope his shop takes off, and he makes 10 million dollars. Just keep buying the parts, and getting the big name sponsors out there.. So me and my buddies can go back to work.

come on, it is a TV SHOW! if the number of viewers drops below a certain level it will go away. It is a matter of taste, you like it or not. I like Sons of Anarchy but I realize many people have their own opinions. TV shows are a business and they have to appeal to the biggest audience to get the top bucks from advertisers…it is only a TV SHOW!
