Handlebar Wiring Extensions

Not a big product announcement, but something very useful for all those tinkering in their garage on their stock Harley. Changing your handlebars and/or the position of your hand controls? Confused about which wire is which one before soldering extensions?

This kit avoids the hassle of possible confusion by providing color coded wires matching Harley factory colors.

Wiring let you do up to 20″ extensions, for example if you install tall Ape Hangers. For all Harley-Davidson models 1996 & up (including baggers). $34.95 – $59.95. At Barons Custom Accessories.

Great idea, actually. Anyone can hack wires together and draw some notes for later (which often get lost), but a lot of the OEM color schemes are difficult to find or have to be purchased in large runs which prices out the small shop or hobbiest who wants to do the job right and keep the OEM shop manual actually meaning something.

Just did a ape-hanger wiring extension yesterday. Did it behind/along side of the gas tank. Of course, I soldered the splices and used heat shrink [no butt-connectors] before the factory Deutch connectors. Iffin’ ya don’t got the proper color wire, they have Majic Markers in every color of the rainbow! Mark the wires with them so the next guy doesn’t have to scratch his head ta figure out whatcha did. Why would any one spend between 30 to 50 bucks plus shipping, when you can buy your own wire and shrink wrap at any local auto parts store for less than 15 to 25 bucks with no shipping and do the same exact thing…DUH !!!!!!!! what a scam….

@road rash…..you can get a bender at Harbor Freight and 1″ tubing from the hardware store and bend your own bars too you donkey. Some people’s time is worth more than $25.
