Reveal Of The RSD-Built Indian Scout Sixty Super Hooligan Racers

Yesterday evening November 19 at 7.30 p.m. at the Port Of Los Angeles, in the presence of top Indian executives, of members of the press and of select VIP’s, 5 Roland Sands Design (RSD) built custom Indian Scout Sixty Hooligan bikes were revealed. It was followed by a live demonstration of the 5 Scout Sixty racing, tires howling, barreling bat-to-bar, pitching sideways into corners….Hooligan racing is a throwback to post-war era where riders took virtually any available motorcycle to race in the spirit of seeking adrenaline and camaraderie.
The 5 Hooligan Scout Sixty will race indoors on a short track at the Las Vegas Orleans Hotel & Casino on the evening of Saturday November 21 and are presented in partnership with Roland Sands Design (RSD) and AMA Pro Flat Track in conjunction with the “Superprestigio of the Americas” race. The world-class team of Indian Scout racers includes tRoland Sands himself, Red Bull/KTM stunt rider Aaron Colton, plus some surprise guest riders. Fans will be able to enjoy live streaming of the event on Fans Choice TV.
Hooligan racing is traced back to the 1930s, at a time when legendary Indian Motorcycle dealer Clarence “Pappy” Hoel began organizing regional hill climb events and flat track motorcycle races in and around Sturgis, South Dakota. Hoel was a founding member of the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club and he and the Gypsies are credited with starting the now world famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 1938. Harley Davidson CEO Wants Net-Zero Greenhouse Emissions By 2050. Many influential CEO’s have already committed to a global goal of net-zero greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 and urged other business leaders to match this ambition by committing to bold long-term targets. Harley-Davidson joined the group of the world’s biggest car and motorcycle makers who promised to make bold moves to support decarbonization. They know that the fossil fuel industries’ days are numbered and that the same way guzzling motorcycles have defined a post WWII generation, the freedom from oil, clean energy and zero emission may define the next one. Jochen Seitz, who is on the Harley-Davidson Board of Directors, signed the commitment letter.
ConvExx and Hollister Rally Part Ways for Future Rallies. ConvExx, the producers of the 2015 Hollister Freedom Rally announced that they will not return to produce the rally in 2016. Rally Chairman Chuck Schwartz stated, “We are certainly disappointed that we will not be able to help with the rally in the future. We went into this relationship with the hopes of building upon the great tradition of the Hollister motorcycle rally for the long term. We believe the rally has great potential for the future; however we could not come to an understanding with all the interested parties associated with the rally for the future.” The 2015 rally was stated as having an estimated attendance of over 40,000.
Kuryakyn Holdings Filed A Lawsuit Against Ciro LLC For Copyright Infringement. On November 2, 2015, via its Counsel Paul T. Olszowka from Todd G. Vare of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Kuryakyn Holdings, Inc. filed in Wisconsin Western District Court a complaint against Ciro LLC and Christopher Lindloff, Ken Madden, Darron May and Thomas Rudd for copyright infringement. All 4 individuals are former Kuryakyn employees. In the filing, Kuryakyn is attaching their employment agreements and Thomas Rudd resignation letter. The new company abruptly shut down in April 2015 with reportedly 20.8 million in assets and 20.4 million in payable bills and other liabilities and entered receivership (the equivalent of bankruptcy) seeking court protection from creditors. Victory Motorcycles Reveals New Production Engine Based On Project 156. Will Power Upcoming 1200cc New Victory.

In Milan, at the EICMA international trade and consumer motorcycle show, Victory Motorcycles today revealed the production version of the engine that powered Project 156 up Pikes Peak this summer, and will power an upcoming 1200cc class motorcycle. The liquid-cooled four-valve engine has a 60-degree vee angle, utilizing double overhead cams that promise to make class-leading power. Additional details of the engine will be probably be revealed in December.
The engine was designed to deliver the strongest power and performance in its class, and was shown off in a concept motorcycle built by European builder Urs Erbacher. Erbacher is well-known in the European custom motorcycle scene taking several top awards and gaining international attention.
Erbacher’s concept – dubbed the “Victory Ignition Concept” was custom built around the first preproduction engine off of the line in Osceola Wisconsin. The concept features an aggressive stance and frames the engine with a cast aluminum chassis, performance suspension and brakes with an aggressive Project 156-inspired paint scheme. At the ongoing EICMA show ((Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) in Milano Italy, Ducati just unveiled 7 new motorcycles, included the much anticipated Sixty2, the most affordable model of the Ducati lineup. Much of Ducati’s recent resurgence is attributed to the popular Scrambler.
In Milano, 2 new Scramblers were unveiled: the Scrambler Flat Track Pro, a sporty version of the standard 803cc Scrambler and featuring new Termignoni exhaust and flatter handlebars. The Scrambler Sixty2, the lowest capacity and the most affordable Ducati model equipped with a Euro4 rated, 399cc, V-Twin engine that’s good for 41bhp of power and 34Nm of torque. The Sixty2 retains Ducati’s signature L-Twin configuration and there’s a wet, cable-actuated clutch, six-speed gearbox and chain final drive which feeds power to the rear wheel. Fury Road is a 2015 action film, the fourth installment and the highest grossing film in the Mad Max franchise. It is set in a future desert wasteland where gasoline and water are scarce commodities. Acclaimed by critics who praised it for its acting, direction, screenplay, visual storytelling, score, practical effects, stunts, and action sequences, the film could have featured this “chained post apocalypse” Sportster.
The primary theme of the Mad Max film and video series has always been survival. So, when major Mad Max sponsor Rockstar with partner Warner Bros asked for a custom bike to launch its new Fury Road video game, the final result had to look brutal, off the wall. An anti style machine ready to become a desert warrior. ..
It was not the first collaboration of Rockstar with Shaw Speed And Custom They worked together before with the Rockstar MXR, a motocross inspired XR1200 Sportster, a just for fun project which allowed them to take a cool looking steed to events and cause attention to the energy drinks brand. For this new project, Shaw Speed (also an official Harley-Davidson dealer) picked an XL1200X 48 Sportster. After stripping it down to bare frame the Mad Max treatment began. First by changing front & rear suspension. In the front, a Springer style forks complimented with a Downhill mountain bike shock and an offset headlight. Triumph Motorcycles America announced the launch of the Bonneville Reborn Tour set to begin next week. The tour will stop at unique venues, consumer motorcycle shows and Triumph dealerships across the U.S. and Canada to showcase the iconic new line of Bonneville motorcycles. It all kicks off in downtown Los Angeles, Calif. at The Theatre in the Ace Hotel next Thursday, November 19, with a launch party celebration.
The Bonneville Reborn Tour consists of five components. Netherlands Big Twin Expo Is Benelux Custom Motorcycle Mayhem (Part 1)

The Benelux – the politico-economic union of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg – has his own big custom motorcycle event held each year in the city of Rosmalen, Netherlands. With the appealing slogan :Anything Goes”, Big Twin Magazine – the only remaining motorcycle magazine written in Dutch language – is able to attract custom builders, vendors and custom culture artists from all over Europe. And as expected, last weekend Nov 8-10 yearly event was custom mayhem! The weekend event also featured a large number of 3D and airbrush artists working in small booths. Below, a few bikes and some motorcycle art that attracted the attention of the crowd…and of the judges. (photography @ Horst Roesler for Cyril Huze)
Larry Houghton of Lamb Engineering is well known to the European custom scene: His bikes have won him “Best of Show” titles and worldwide attention. His Bonneville Tribute Bike, created from a 2010 Triumph will be raced either at the Salt Flats or at Pendrine Sands, which is not too far from his shop. Unique details include the one-off brake mounted to the gearbox exit, oil coolers, floorboards and a unique way to get the speedo-drive from the front brake disc!
Dutch shop RNO Cycles is renowned to build bikes “off the beaten path”. His “Inked” bike got a lot of praise from the public.
Roderick Braunius created this very authentic hardcore Bobber from a 1947 Model “U”. The front forks are made from a 1934 HD Springer, minus the “spring”. Riding it must be quite an adventure.
Best of Show went unanimously to Destiny Cycles outstanding Triumph Custom which is very much handcrafted to perfection.
A 1930 Jap Board Tracker with gas and oil tanks out of glass (not one of the type that breaks easily…)
Build by “Mr. Indian of Holland” Tony Leenes from modern aftermarket Indian parts, this hybrid is a one-off period custom and powered by a 1925 Anzani V-Twin, originating from a “Pacer” Motorcycle. Kenny Price, Founder And CEO Of Samson exhaust Has Come Out Of Retirement. Soon after the move to Sturgis, Kenny decided to retire and hand over business operations to the team. In doing so production suffered, and in turn, deliverability, innovation, and new products also suffered. Now he is back at the helm to pump out more innovative products into the aftermarket exhaust industry. In 1991 Kenny founded Samson Motorcycle Products with the dream of making performance motorcycle exhaust that looked good, sounded good and wouldn’t break. The company grew out of 10 different manufacturing facilities until finally moving to Sturgis, South Dakota, the “City of Riders”, where Kenny had a custom building constructed specifically for Samson’s needs.
Hollister Rally Moved The Event To July 8-10, 2016. The event, usually celebrated to coincide with Independence Day, has been moved to the following weekend, in 2016 July 8 to 10. Hollister City planners and law enforcement have concluded that this change of venue will lower the costs of organizing and hosting the event.
S&S Cycle Inc. Is Investing $2.7 Million To Manufacture Proprietary Exhaust Systems. High performance engines and parts require performance exhaust systems. S&S Cycle already sells exhaust components made elsewhere but wants to sell its own in-house manufactured systems. The rationale supporting this decision is that about 80% of Harley owners replace their factory exhausts for better sounding, better looking and more performant ones. Wells Fargo is the main lender to S&S Cycle (a 7-year term at 2.5%) and the engine manufacturer also received help from the County Economic Development Fund Board. Today November 11, Victory Motorcycles participated in the New York City Veterans Day Parade alongside their partner organization the “Iraq Afghanistan Veterans Association” (IAVA) Some IAVA Members rode Victory Motorcycles in the parade. The IAVA is an important organizations recognizing the unique needs of our most recent veterans.
