Although there is no such a thing as a Motorcycle Lubricants Company official sponsor of this Sturgis Bike Week, this year Spectro Oils will confirm its growing market share in the motorcycle industry by being present in several locations, helping participants maintain their bikes, helping a custom motorcycle building competition and sponsoring the rally’s most important “art of the motorcycle” exhibition.
1- For most of us, Sturgis is a great place to be each summer, but it’s not exactly a short day’s ride from home. So it’s great to be able to get your bike’s fluids changed right at the Buffalo Chip, setting up for an easy ride home. “We’ll be providing a full range of lubricants — petroleum, semi-synthetic and synthetic along with transmission and primary oils,” says Rollin Karoll, VP – Sales, Spectro Oils of America. Spectro products will also be available for carry out sales. The Oil Change facility is located just outside the Buffalo Chip west gate and you don’t need a Chip pass to enter. The “Easy Eddie” crew not only does oil changes, they can also fix just about anything from a minor electrical problem to major engine repairs. With 10 years of Rally Service experience, (MMI and HD certified techs) they can solve your bikes problem quickly and have you back to enjoying the rally.
2- Spectro Oils is also proud to be associated with “The 2K10 Challenge”. The project is being led by world class builder Michael Prugh and Dakota Tech welding technology instructor Luke Steinmetz. The Western Dakota students will be designing and fabricating a true “one off” bike, not just assembling from a parts catalog, blending art, function and fabrication. Spectro is providing fluids for the bike including motor oil, transmission lubricant, primary lubricant, brake fluid and suspension fluids. Look for the unveiling of the 2K10 bike during the rally.
3- Spectro is again this year a sponsor of the 2010 Michael Lichter Exhibition at the Buffalo Chip. “The artistry of Michael Lichter is legend, and this exhibition will showcase so much of it,’ says Rollin Karoll. The 2010 exhibition focuses on 15 pairs of custom builders, both young and old. Also located at the Legendary Buffalo Chip, admission and parking for the exhibition are free.
Spectro brands are manufactured and marketed by Intercontinental Lubricants Corp. of Brookfield, CT, ILC, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers and packagers of quality, specialty lubricants.
