In honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Buffalo Chip’s Legends Ride, S&S Cycle, Inc. is debuting a T143 (165-170 hp) performance-styled Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider custom to be auctioned in support of the milestone event that kicks off in Deadwood, SD on Aug. 7. The fully customized Low Rider, designed to look and feel every bit a “muscle bike,” will be unveiled on Saturday, March 25 at 12:15 p.m. at the Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show in the St. Paul RiverCentre, St. Paul, Minn.
As the uncontested aftermarket leader in V-Twin performance parts for almost six decades, S&S Cycle transformed the 2017 club-style chopper into a sleek and stylish beast powered by a T143 Black Edition engine packing 143 cubic inches and 165 horsepower to the wheel. Harnessing that extra horsepower required S&S to upgrade the transmission, clutch and primary work. To clothe the machine, S&S added a Russ Wernimont FXRT style fairing and some Dyna Defender bags. The piece de resistance is the hot rod inspired striped paint job, which recalls the wildly popular classic muscle car, the Shelby Cobra. It was last Sunday morning at 8 a.m. Kevin Bean’re and Tim ford dressed in Blues Brothers suits paused for a few pictures, then rolled down a deserted Daytona Main Street to attempt a World Record on stock 50cc Yamaha mini bikes, riding from Daytona Beach, Florida to San Diego, California. No chase vehicle! Just will power.
The event is to benefit the Aidan Seeger Foundation created after very young Aidan lost its short battle against Adrenoleukodystrophy. For this purpose, Kevin Bean’re and Tim ford started to sell raffle tickets during all Bike week and will continue to do it at each leg toward San Diego. Among gifts offered, artist David Uhl has graciously donated one of his signed prints of “The Iron Horse Heist” valued at over 3000 dollars. Other raffle gifts, and a Biltwell helmet hand painted by Darren McKeag.
At the start, the duo knew only the first 3 days of their across country trip. On March 20th at 5.30 p.m. they will have a fundraiser party at Accurate Engineering host by Berry Wardlaw in Dolthan, Alabama. On March 23rd at 5:30 p.m. they will host another fundraiser at the Dorchester Historical Association Museum in Minden, Louisiana. On Sunday, March 26, they should arrive at Rick Fairless Strokers in Dallas Texas, all day long raising money for Aidan. Update will be posted HERE.

The passion of custom builder and organizer Billy Lane for early 20th-century board-track racing. Add 20 friends sharing the same enthusiasm for pre-1925 1000cc American V-Twin engines. Reserve the New Smyrna Speedway’s half-mile, paved, banked racetrack ready to welcome these 20 antique motorcycle racers. The result is one of the most interesting and followed events of this 76th Daytona Bike Week. It’s called “Sons Of Speed”
After a Friday’s well attended practice where a couple of machines broke down and got fixed right away, a big crowd rushed on Saturday south of Daytona to relive the emotions that our own parents/grand-parents have lived when they watched stripped down bikes race the steep banks of American racetracks.
Let’s thank Billy Lane for creating this now major event of all big rallies where it will be held in the future, at his tenacity during these last 2 years to make it happen, at his hard work for building many of the different chassis used by racers to welcome their pre-1925 1000 cc American V-Twin engines.
In conclusion, I am not sure that the results of the heats and final race are as much important than the friendship between racers, support teams and also with spectators. Above all, let’s thank him for fostering the passion for antique motorcycle racing and for creating a new medium to exchange information about them.

If you are not into speeding with repetitive hard braking, forget about the disadvantages of drum brakes, like overheating, squealing from too much dust, prone to fading and difficult to service. They look extremely cool, and the retro custom trend has created a new market for them, fully redesigned, and much more efficient. A new great example of parts from the past reborn refined, adding nostalgia to your sled, is this set of front and rear drum brakes by Italian Kustom Tech.
The Front Mini Drum Brake is built from cast iron material, offering a great coefficient of friction despite its small size. In the central part of the drum, fins improve cooling. The inner of the drum is CNC machined for precision matching to the shoes. The two side covers are made from aluminum, under the left one being where the shoes are located (51/8″ diameter) Comes with 3/4″ wheel bearings’
The Hydraulic Rear Rim Brake With Brass Fins is inspired by those used by the 50’s Rodders. Central part is built from cast iron, a material offering a high degree of friction, it comes with a crown of 51 teeth inside the front plate.
Machined from solid aluminum, the brake shoes are anchored (H-D type from 1958 to ’62) and are activated by hydraulic cylinders. Brass fins are screwed around the drum, and provide great cooling. The drum is provided with a perforated aluminum anchor rod which is to be anchored to the frame through an included special support,
This drum brake is sold all chromed including fins, or entirely plated with polished brass fins. Worldwide shipping. At Kustom Tech.

Each rally will feature excess. It’s true for people and motorcycles. But as Somerset Maugham said: “Excess on occasion is exhilarating. It prevents moderation from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit.” From excess to simplicity, the 76th Daytona Bike Week gives you again all what you need to feed your desire for admiration, critic and inspiration. 7- There are two excellent theories for arguing with women. Neither one works.
8- If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it.
9- Good judgement comes from bad experience…and most of that comes from bad judgement.
10- Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

All Damages Against Rushmore Photo & Gifts and Wal-Mart Stores are dismissed in a high-profile Sturgis Trademark Lawsuit.
Rushmore Photo & Gifts, Inc. (RPG), the Niemann family, and Wal-mart Stores, Inc. (Walmart) are celebrating a victory over Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc. (SMRI) in a controversial, six-year trademark dispute over the name “Sturgis. On March 10, the Court found that RPG and Walmart had valid equitable defenses to SMRI’s trademark claims. The Court vacated and dismissed the entire jury damage award of $912,500 ruling that “SMRI is barred from recovering damages and profits from the defendants for the time period prior to October 30, 2015.”
RPG was sued by SMRI in June of 2011 for infringement of its alleged trademarks, which include the name “Sturgis.” In response, RPG, a Rapid City family-owned business that has sold Sturgis-rally-related merchandise for over 30 years, argued that SMRI’s claims were barred by the equitable doctrines of laches and acquiescence. The Court agreed. The Court, however, also upheld SMRI’s trademark rights – at least for the time being.

The Triumph Street Twin is the most contemporary and financially accessible Bonneville. A modern classic powered by the critically acclaimed high torque 900cc engine and designed by the factory as a perfect starting point to build your own custom bike. Logically, it’s the model that dealers had to use in a “Triumph Dealer Custom Built Competition (equivalent in its principle to Harley’s Battle Of The Kings) You are looking at the work of Dutch dealer Triumph Groningen, the unanimous winner of this creative confrontation with a stunning interpretation of the pre-sixties Café Racers and Salt Lake Racers.
This racer was built by Netherlands based Triumph Groningen’s owner Leonard in collaboration with Rinaldo, a very experienced metal fabricator. They immediately agreed on producing a machine with hand-crafted parts, looking like it has run a dozen times on the salts of Bonneville, but still road legal without modifications and keeping its modern functionality when ridden before and after the race.
