Allen Millyard 5 liter V-Twin Based On 2 Pratt & Whitney R1340 Aircraft Cylinders

Don’t ask why? It’s the type of work Allen Millyard likes to do: crazy engines. Of course, except the 2 Pratt & Whitney cylinders, everything else is one-off: connecting rods and aluminum crankshaft cast from wooden molds. Engine runs a dry sump with twin pumps, twin SU carburetors, twin plugs per head. Vintage Rally At The National Motorcycle Museum June 8-9, 2013

On June 8 and June 9 in Anamosa, Iowa, the National Motorcycle Museum’s annual event will be showcasing new exhibits, motorcycling heroes, a great swap meet, two bike shows and a vintage ride. While the Museum in its new location holds over 400 great motorcycles from Ariel to Zundapp and thousands of great pieces of art and memorabilia, the bike shows at the third annual Vintage Rally weekend bring to you even more fine machines for review.

Be part of the dedication of the new Allstate Motorcycle Dirt Track Heroes exhibit and take in over 20 great Grand National Championship dirt track racers plus steel shoes, helmets, leathers, photos, posters and vintage dirt track film footage. Evan Favaro just celebrated his 23rd birthday and already gets a second feature in my website. Not surprising when you know than Evan Favaro was only 12 years old when he started to build small custom 2 stroke race motors from scratch for himself and his friends to race around town. At 2013 Donnie Smith Show Student Build Challenge™ Legends Ride® Charity Bike Wins First Place

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip® is pleased to announce that the Student Build Challenge bike, customized by Sturgis Brown High School Students, won multiple awards during the 26th annual Donnie Smith show March 23 and 24 in St. Paul, MN. The nation’s top student built bike took first place for the Full Custom Bagger classification in the Open Class and also won Overall Best Display. The award-winning bike will be auctioned off on August 5, 2013 at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip in support of the annual Legends Ride event. In a complete tear down and rebuild, the Sturgis, SD students customized a stock Road King Harley Davidson that took top honors at the bike show. The survey was a massive failure because of the following:

2. In Western Europe they didn’t know what “shortage” meant.

3. In Africa they didn’t know what “food” meant.

4. In China they didn’t know what “opinion” meant.

5. In the Middle East they didn’t know what “solution” meant.

6. In South America they didn’t know what “please” meant.

7. In the USA they didn’t know what “the rest of the world” meant.

Jesse James Got Married To Alexis DeJoria. With James’s youngest daughter, Sunny, 9, and DeJoria’s daughter Bella, 10, acting as flower girls, Jesse James, 43, exchanged vows with DeJoria, a pro-drag racer and daughter to entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of the Paul Mitchell hair care products line and Patron Spirits Company. They exchanged rings designed by jeweler designer Neil Lane. Alexis DeJoria drives a Patron Nitro Funny car on the drag race circuit. This is a fourth marriage for Jesse James.

Wall Street Analysts Suggest Harley-Davidson Stock May Go Under Pressure. To the aging baby boomers and to anticipated weather related slow sales in 1st quarter (down 4/5% year over year at the US dealer level?), Wall Street stock analysts add a new worry: the new Indian Motorcycle model(s). Although in its infancy the new Indian motorcycle by Polaris could take very fast a big chunk of the Harley-Davidson market. How many bikers willing and ready to buy a new 2014 model year motorcycle are going to switch from their current brand to Indian Motorcycle? On this online community, fans can connect, brag about their rides, and easily find inspiration (and parts) for their next restoration project or fixes to their daily drivers.

Since the launch on October 30, 2012, motorcycle enthusiasts have uploaded 10,645 motorcycles to eBay Garage. On average, 76 motorcycles are uploaded to eBay Garage each day. There are 2,576 Harley-Davidson motorcycle profiles to-date. There are 2,283 Honda motorcycle profiles to-date. There are 1,520 Yamaha motorcycle profiles to-date.

Postcards From The 2013 Custom Chrome Europe Dealer Show And Bike Show Series. March 23/24th

A few facts about the CCE Dealer Show:

CCE has 2200 active Europeean dealers, half of them visiting the yearly show during this weekend. At an average of 3 persons per dealer, it’s about 6600 professionals of the V-Twin European industry getting exposed to the custom part offerings of some of the best V-Twin vendors on both side of the Atlantic. The contingent of US companies exhibiting in Mainz is quite impressive (Ness, Performance Machine, S&S Cycle, Barnett, Avon Grips, Rivera Primo, Daytona Twin Tec, Vision Cycles, and many others) taking advantage of a still very low dollar against the euro (1 euro = $1,29 dollars) to expand their market share in Europe.

Tomorrow Sunday March 24, the general public will be admitted to the show and about 6000 new visitors (entry is 10 euros) are expected to join dealers and get a chance to admire the 125 custom bikes in competition. Many of these top creations will tour Europe until this summer with some of them being shipped in August to Sturgis for your viewing pleasure…

CCE Marketing Director Axel Scherer (left) and Managing Director Andreas Scholz (right), strong of a crew of 54 people, know how to manage a very multi-lingual dealer network and entertain it during all weekend. I am talking about informative sessions during the show (your writer did 2 stage appearances explaining efficient online marketing) but also at night (big party Friday evening at the Wiesbaden hotel where most of us are staying, another bigger one Saturday evening with a Tex Mex theme…) Tomorrow Sunday is judgment day, and yes, be patient, I will feature the best custom creations from Europe.

Seen At The Custom Chrome Europe Show. Wannabe-Choppers CANIOX Module For CAN-BUS Harley-Davidson Models

Since 2011 several HD models are equipped with a CAN-BUS a.k.a. “HD-LAN”. This internal communication system restrains certain replacement of components like the handlebar control switches. CANIOX has been developed to overcome this problem and to enable you to use custom handlebar controls e. g. from Performance Machine, Ness, Rebuffini, Joker Machine, RST to name just a view of them).

Up to now customizers had to disassemble the OEM CAN-BUS hand control units, remove the original electronic circuit boards and connect them to replacement switches. This has been a time consuming effort which destroyed the OEM hand control units. It has been a risky job too because a single short-circuit due to a bad soldering of the wires could easily block the whole HD-LAN communication. Kid Rock And Harley-Davidson

Recently. Kid Rock (Robert James “Bob” Ritchie) came to Palm Beach County, Florida to film a promo piece for Harley-Davidson. And of course it’s about their exclusive partnership including a performance for the company’s 110th Anniversary celebration in Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend. The partnership brings together Harley-Davidson as a title sponsor of Kid Rock’s Rebel Soul tour. Harley-Davidson plans to offer fans unique experiences at each of the 60 planned stops during the Rebel Soul tour. The commercial video announcement was just released.

2013 Custom Chrome Dealer Show And Bike Show Series

This Friday March 22, effervescence in the German Mainz Halle where European & American vendors are gathering to finalize their booth display preparation and where 115 registered custom bikes roll on and off 2 photo studios for beauty shots (more unregistered customs will show up at the last minute and the total number of competitors could reach a much higher number, a count that many US show organizers would envy…) The 3 top photographers in charge of shooting this record number of customs in only 48 hours (they will not sleep much between today and Sunday…) are “Motographer” Horst Roesler, Frank Sander and Onno Wieringa. It is important to mention that the Custom Chrome Europe operation does more than organize this important yearly trade and bike show competition and offers courtesy promotion of all competitors with their bikes in European magazines. Harley-Davidson Goes Digital For All Its Reports. Harley-Davidson will no more print reports. Printed annual reports are rapidly becoming extinct as investors turn to the Internet for information on companies, including quarterly earnings and regulatory filings. Instead, the company will publish all its reports electronically, using less numbers, but linking these numbers to more detailed digital data. The review of this type was published online Monday, along with downloadable links to the company’s Securities and Exchange Commission form 10-K, the annual proxy statement, a letter to shareholders and the company environmental sustainability report.

Harley-Davidson has opened its first dealership in the Philippines. The official distributor of Harley-Davidson in the country, believes the Philippine market is ready for the Harley-Davidson brand. This is due to a strong positive American influence and a growing economy expecting to support a higher lifestyle. There are already about 800 to 1,000 existing Harley-Davidson owners in the Philippines. The dealership in the Philippines is offering the 2013 the international Sportster®, Dyna®, Softail®, V-Rod, CVO and Touring Models.
