At the New England International Auto Show Redwing bikes were exhibited but the name Redwing was no longer on the bikes. During a press conference Steven Tyler himself announced that the new name for the motorcycle line will be Dirico Motorcycles, named after the company lead engineer and Tyler’s brother in law Marc Dirico. It is well known that Tyler was taking some heat from Honda (heat being synonymous with lawyers in action) for using the brand name Redwing. Dirico Motorcycles.

360 Brake New Sponsor Of Cyril Huze Blog
Published by December 5th, 2008 in Brakes, Builders, Customs and Editorial.18 months ago, I didn’t hesitate to publish some negative comments about the original 360 Brake company. A fabulous concept endorsed by the industry but with a few potential flaws, enough to make many enthusiasts postpone their decision to install it. During the last year I followed the efforts of the new 360 Brake entity completely redesigning their system to make it reliable in all circumstances on most riding bikes. The results: 2 new hub mounted self contain brakes in 5 & 6” with increased stopping and venting capacity. 360 Brake has also extended the list of wheel manufacturers who will install the system for you on your custom wheels if such is your wish. So, today I am happy to welcome the new 360 Brake Company as sponsor of my blog. For more information visit 360 Brake or call 317.875.0360.
If you are obliged to wear a helmet AND want to scare the ladies, this is the perfect helmet to look badass.
Avoid keeping it on your head when entering your favorite deli store after dark or shopping at the mall for Christmas gifts. An elite tactical unit of the Swat Team could show up faster than it would take you to remove it. Works well with the crowd and amateur photographers on Main Street. It’s European (TUV) approved but not DOT. Comes with a clear and smoke lens. $159.99. For sale online at Santiago Choppers.
I always thought I had an easy name to hear and spell. Almost as easy as being named Jones or Smith. When people outside the motorcycle industry ask for my last name and I say “Huze”, the other person says “Ruze”, and when I say, no “Huze”, the question is “Huge”? No “Huze”. And the other person to say. Oh, ”Ruge” or “Hughes”? Like Howard? And it goes on and on. Now, imagine over the phone, especially with my accent, and worse when the other has another accent and I talk using a cell phone. Continue reading ‘Love Your Name And Spell It Creatively.’
Best 2008 Automotive Conceptual Design
Published by December 4th, 2008 in Builders, Customs and Editorial. Each year the Los Angeles Car Show organizes a design competition.
This year theme was “Motorsports 2025”. And last weekend winner was the Mazda Kaan featured here. Is it a car with 3 wheels and 4 tires? Is it a motorcycle? A trike? Doesn’t matter. In 2025 I don’t think we will ride/drive this kind of “star wars” machine, but still we must admire the conceptual design and the audacity of the lines.

Consumers have cut spending and advertisers have followed suit. It affected every ad category and every ad-supported sector of the media industry. According to the Publishers Information Bureau (PIB), total Automotive advertising revenues (cars, motorcycles, RV’s, etc) was down 19.9% in dollars and 23.6% in number of advertising pages when you compare the first 3 quarters of 2008 versus same in 2007. I have to mention that it is proven over and over that those companies able to continue to advertise gain big market shares when the competition shy away from advertising. We are going to get out this economic mess and the winners will be the companies keeping or increasing their advertising presence. Like for the stock market, be daring when the others are fearful (Warren Buffet).

This past Monday, the new Custom Chrome held a Grand Opening Celebration at its new corporate headquarters located at 18255 Serene Drive / Suite 150 in Morgan Hill, CA. Crime Scene Choppers Motor Mount.
Published by December 2nd, 2008 in Accessories, Editorial and Engines. The stock Harley-Davidson motor mount is ugly. Lot of after-market ones are quite bulky. This one looks light but is strong and can be used on all Evo and Twin Cam engines from 80 ci to 124 ci (will not work with Rev tech engines because the rocker box will interfere with mount). Made out of steel and chrome plated and supplied with stainless steel bolts. Measures 7.0″ wide X 1.0″ deep X 2.0″ high. $99.00. Crime Scene Choppers.

Published by December 1st, 2008 in Builders, Customs, Editorial and Events.

Bodies In Motion. What Makes Us Feel So Good.
Published by November 28th, 2008 in Books and Editorial. Many books have been published about motorcycling. But none like this one. Don’t expect glossy double spread motorcycle pictures. This book is an essay about why we ride. And the answer is not as simple as the 3 F’s of motorcycling that you all know: Fun, Freedom and Flying on the ground.
Author Steven L. Thompson goes in a deep search to understand what motivates motorcyclists to ride. On his mission, he goes beyond exploring history and relies on behavioral sciences to explain why an individual is attracted or even addicted to motorcycles and motorcycling, while another may be indifferent or openly hostile. If you are interested in the future of our sport, Steven also bring clear answers and original perspectives.
A must read to understand the cultural, political and legal issues we are all facing. Even the foreword written by Andy Goldfine is remarkable writing. Order online at Amazon or through the book website at Bodies In Motion.

There is not such a law in the US preventing any children to be a passenger on a motorcycle. But I Canada, a new law on the books wants to prohibit youngsters under 14 from riding as passengers on a motorcycle. Ontario Bill 117 is in the initial stages of new legislation, having been given its first reading as a private member’s bill in the Legislature late last month. Justification? Kudos must be given to any motorcycle company creating a niche market and being successful at marketing its products. Campagna Motors is a young Canadian company that designs, manufactures and distributes unique “race car type” 3-wheel vehicles combining performance, fun & style. I promise that if you are a sports car fan you are going to love the T-Rex model whose performances often surpass those of supercars costing several times its price. It’s powered by in inline liquid cooled Kawasaki 4-cylinder 1400 cc producing over 200 hp sitting in a sophisticated heavy duty 1 ½” tube frame tig welded by Rolling Thunder Frames. Feeling more like a race-car on 3 wheels than a trike, the T-Rex is street legal in the US and Canada and sold all over the world with strong foreign sales in Australia & Japan. A luxury toy for speed crazy men who don’t feel or don’t care about the state of the economy.
