A motorcycle to conqueer what a typical motorcycle can’t… Continue reading ‘Ural Limited Edition Yamal Sidecar Motorcycle. Paddle Included.’

Jesse James Custom Chevy Wagon To Be Auctioned This December 7 At The Mecum’s Kanas City Sale.

This 1957 Chevy 210 “Handy Man” Station Wagon was custom built by Jesse James as a promotional vehicle for West Coast Choppers. It was on display for several years at the National Motorcycle Museum and now is going to be auctioned during the Mecum’s Kansas City, Missouri Sale. (December 6 to 8 2012). The car will be on the auction block Friday December 7 at 3:05 pm local time.
James began with a very solid 1957 two-door wagon retaining its incredibly fine stock, original factory deluxe interior and straight six engine with three speed, column shift transmission. But it’s the paint, (especially on the roof!) and what’s in the trunk that counts with this car.
A powerful hydraulic ram system, independent at each corner of the car, allows any combination of ride height and rake. All the chromed out suspension operating equipment is racked in the luggage area, all on view through the rear windows. Tribute Custom Motorcycle To Formula 1 Legend Ayrton Senna

In various motorsport polls Ayrton Senna (1960-1994) is still today voted as the greatest of all times Formula One driver . He streaked through the Formula 1 sport like a comet, becoming a superstar whose brilliance as a driver was matched by a dazzling intellect and exceptional charisma.

As a driver, no one tried harder or pushed himself further. Intensely introspective and passionate in the extreme, Ayrton Senna endlessly sought to extend his limits, to go faster than himself, a quest that ultimately made him a martyr (he remains the last driver fatality in Formula One) but did not diminish his mystique.

Not only in his native Brazil where he is idolized by all the country but also for so many around the world he was actually a greater man out of the car than in it.

It was the dream of brothers, best friends and partners Jarrod and Justin Del Prado at DP Custom Cycles to build a Senna tribute motorcycle. As a matter of fact they built 2! They explained to me: “Six months ago, we originally built a bike called “Defensor” inspired by Ayrton Senna, our F1 hero. A lot of folks in the motorsports community noticed it, including Factory Volvo driver Alex Figge. He is a huge Senna fan as well, so he contacted us and asked if we could re-create another version of the bike that was faster and a bit more modern, the original being based on an Ironhead. We normally won’t build a bike that looks similar to anything else we’ve done, but Alex was a cool and passionate guy, so we said “it’s on.”  The goal was to build a bike with a similar polarizing livery of Senna’s helmet, but with many changes as well…” Continue reading ‘Tribute Custom Motorcycle To Formula 1 Legend Ayrton Senna’

Hard Work Video. The Gear Heads.

In Austin, Texas at Revival Cycles  2 guys find expression in the realm of motorcycling, customizing mainly vintage European and Asian bikes in an out-of-use former commercial kitchen turned into a custom fabrication shop…

They were approached by a small company called Helm whose business is to handcraft classic boots with an historic design inspiration. HELM wanted to celebrate all that made America great and got the idea to produce a few videos about different people who, like their fathers and grandfathers, were skilled at working with their hands in creatively-driven fields.

So, they asked Director Ryan Scheer  to film and interview the 2 custom builders about what is supporting their passion for motorcycling. Although this clip is intended to promote Helm boots, I am happy to have discovered it and to publish it to promote the spirit of those working hard at supporting the passion of their fellow bikers.

“The drawings that were made public at last night’s meeting are conceptual in nature, but are based on input from the Board of Directors of the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum,” said Dave Davis, Museum Board President. “The museum board is ready to move forward into a feasibility study phase to determine the full scope and timeframe for making an expanded museum like the one represented here a reality. The Halcyon. A New Stylish Small Displacement Motorcycle Celebrating One Of Last Century’s Best Design.

Founders of Janus Motorcycles Devin Biek and Richard Worsham are absolutely right when they state than many men & women who may not see themselves as “bikers” love the freedom, joy, and mobility that a moped or small motorcycle allows. They also think that small displacement 2-wheelers, ranging from 125 to 250 cc’s, may progressively bring a younger generation to the true  and complete motorcycling lifestyle. So they produced the Halcyon 50, not a restoration, but a new easy-to-ride and light-weight bike that harkens back to an iconic era of motorcycle history. Continue reading ‘The Halcyon.
