2nd Annual Indian Motorcycle Veterans Charity Ride Supported By Mark Wahlberg

The 2016 Veterans Charity Ride to Sturgis is a 1,776-mile, multi-state tour that uses Indian motorcycles as therapy for wounded and amputee veterans.

Veterans are hand selected from all branches of the military to experience motorcycle therapy on Indian motorcycles, trikes and Champion sidecars while riding from Los Angeles to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. 20 deserving veterans and veteran mentors will join the ride.

The program was conceived and developed by veteran Army Paratrooper David Frey and Emmy Award-winning producer and director Robert Manciero of Full Vision Productions, leveraging the therapeutic effects of motorcycle riding to create an adventure of a lifetime for wounded veterans. For the second straight year the journey will be filmed so the message can be shared with as many veterans as possible.

“We’ll spend over a week riding on America’s most beautiful roads, getting to know each other and helping each other through Motorcycle Therapy,” said Frey. “The shared experience of serving brings us together, veteran to veteran, to help each other heal. We also show the veterans just how much their service means to America by stopping in small towns along the way to meet the people of our nation who want to celebrate these brave men and women.”

Battle Of The Kings Contest. Winner Of Region Of Europe, Middle East and Africa.

211 Harley dealers from 12 countries participated in the contest consisting of customizing a Sportster Iron 883. The catch, each bike must ultimately be offered for sale for a maximum of 16660 euros or $18,600. A total of 65,000 fans voted online to choose the 12 best projects. At the Wheels & Waves event in Biarritz, an international jury of 6 experts picked the winner. Harley-Davidson Athena, Greece (owner Paschalis Tsalamagkas) won the competition with this black custom.

Surgis Buffalo Chip. The Full 2016 Band Lineup And Poster Artwork.

13th Annual Las Vegas BikeFest. Announcing Builders To Participate To Artistry In Iron Championship.

The annual invitation only competition “Artistry In Iron“, sponsored by Steve Soffa Enterprises and Paughco, will include 19 award winning builders. A limited number of builders are invited to participate annually. “Each year we invite those on the cutting edge as well as some past participants and they never cease to amaze us with the incredible works of art that they bring. watchces At CES, the International Consumer Electronics Trade Show that takes place every January in Las Vegas, a Swiss watch company called Azimuth showed this watch inspired by the motorcycle chain driveline.

Azimuth has the reputation of pursuing very unusual developments in the field of complications. This new watch model, called the SP-1 Crazy Rider, features an asymmetrical case in which a chain wrapped around a pair of sprockets turning in unison. As they do, a hand attached to the chain moves along a series of 24 numbers indicating the hour, while a more traditional spinning hand in the center of the left sprocket indicates the minute. The price of this piece of conversation is $5200…

Custom Parallel Twin Indian Scout

I bet that very few among you know that Indian produced a Parallel Twin. In 1945, at the end of WW2, Indian thought that the V-Twin Scout was becoming obsolete. The company started to invest in research and development for an OHV Torque series directly inspired by twin British motorcycles. As a matter of fact directly copying Triumph…

In 1949, Indian released a parallel vertical twin OHV with British type gearbox and controls, but with the primary drive on the right side instead of the left. This new model had its share of problems fixed in 1950 with the bike being renamed the Indian Warrior.

A part more about beauty than about suspension comfort and ultra performance, these chrome spring struts look awesome on Harley XL or FL-FX models. They are 11” long from center to center eye mount and fit on all H-D bikes with 1/2” shock mounting studs.

They can be mounted either with spring on top or bottom and will lower the rear of a stock Harley (check clearance tire to fende after installation) Will require replacement of top and bottom silent blocks sold by same company. One Of These Days. A Video Ride To The 2016 Wheels And Waves Gathering.

Stop saying “one of these days”. Stop only dreaming about it. Do it. Alone or in duo or with your best buddies, ride to wherever you want to arrive. Pick or improvise the roads. In this video, the pretext was going to meet other friends at the 2016 Wheels And Waves Gathering (June 8-12) in Biarritz, on the southwest Atlantic coast of France. The adventure started at the Thunderbike Customs in Cologne, Germany for a 1000 miles ride (1600 km) to the seaside town of Biarritz, the French surfing capital. At the end of the road, multiple festivities including racing (the Punk Race), surfing, enjoying local seafood and making new friends. During 13 minutes, follow the ride. Granddaddy By Artist David Uhl

Last week, at the H-D Museum in Milwaukee, artist David Uhl unveiled his latest masterpiece titled “Granddaddy”. This piece was completed for the museum’s drag racing exhibit which opens this weekend. Willie G. Davidson and the Davidson family were in attendance along with several hundred attendees of the museum’s Bike Night.

Postcards from The 93rd Laconia Motorcycle Week June 11-19

Laconia is the world’s oldest motorcycle rally. As those who visited know, the epicenter of the rally is Laconia Weirs Beach, Lakeside Avenue and the boardwalk that skirts it. But many bikers come to ride throughout the state, crossing into Maine or Vermont. It’s what motorcycle touring expert Suzanne Boxberg and Monographer Horst Roesler did, sending me some nice landscape pictures of their trip on their way to Laconia (itinerary suggestions at “Discover New England”) The weather was typical New England, partly sunny to rain to mostly sunny all week long… A legal note: New Hampshire does not mandate wearing motorcycle helmets for riders over 18, which it has been claimed is a reason why some riders are attracted to events in the state.

Gynecologist Assistant

A retired man went into the Job Center in downtown Los Angeles and saw a card advertising for a Gynecologist’s Assistant. Interested, he went in and asked the clerk for details.

The clerk pulled up the file and read; “The job entails getting the ladies ready for the gynecologist. You have to help the women out of their underwear, lay them down and carefully wash their private regions, then apply shaving foam and gently shave off the hair, then rub in soothing oils so they’re ready for the gynecologist’s examination.

The annual salary is $65,000, and if you are interested you’ll have to go to San Francisco. “Good grief”, the man asked, “Is that where the job is?” “No sir . . . that’s where the end of the line is right now.

Custom Tribute To The Legendary BMW R 5

The BMW R5 was released 81 years ago, in 1935. To pay tribute to this German motorcycle legend, the BMW Motorrad Design Team selected Swedish shop Unique Custom Cycles to reimagine and reengineer it taking for inspiration the 30’s racers.

Working from sketches provided by BMW, components such as the frame, gas tank and rear fender were hand-crafted by the Norens brothers.

Powerplant is an original 500 cc two-cylinder boxer engine given by Motorrad enthusiast Sebastian Gutsch. It is fitted with a specially designed supercharger to bring power output closer to contemporary midweight motorcycle level, around 45 hp. Aluminum engine cases were glass-bead blasted. No instruments on this project and a finish in classic gloss black BMW with white stripes. Probably a project to end up in the BMW Motorrad Museum.

It’s the 3rd time in a row that CCE produces a short film to promote the art of customizing. 2016 AMD World Championship Of Custom Building. Call For Entries.

The 2016 AMD Championship Of Custom Building is being staged for the second time at the INTERMOT Expo in Cologne, Germany, on October 4th to 9th 2016. Currently 41 custom bikes are registered by 32 competitors from 14 different countries, with over four months still to go before move-in day. There will be 5 classes: the now traditional and highly acclaimed Freestyle Class, from which the 12th annual AMD World Champion Custom Bike Builder will be chosen, plus 4 further classes to recognize specific sectors of the custom motorcycle market. Matchless To Issue 6% Yield Bonds To Produce New Motorcycle Models. Until now the Malenotti family, owner of the Matchless brand, is only licensing the brand name for a motorcycle/casual clothing line. But the Malenottis are looking for funding to produce 2 motorcycles. At least a £5 million or about US $7 million budget, which seems quite low to conceive from the ground up and produce 2 brand new motorcycles. Matchless is proposing to issue 5-year bonds carrying a 6% interest, a very high yield per short term corporate bond standards, and underscoring the risk taken by investors who would buy them.

Electric Project Harley-Davidson LiveWire Given Green Light. Sean Cummings, Harley-Davidson’s senior vice president of global demand confirmed that the company will produce an electric motorcycle within the next five years. Harley-Davidson tries to continue to appeal to its core aging clientele while preparing to attract a new large fanbase with electric motorcycle technology.

Official. Indian Motorcycle Returns To AMA Pro Flat Track With Proprietary New Scout Engine.

25th Annual Motorcycle and Scooter Ride To Work Day Is Monday June 20, 2016

“Ride To Work Day” advocates and supports the use of motorcycles and scooters for daily transportation, and to provide information to the public.

It increases public and governmental awareness about the societally positive values of motorcycle riding.

Ride to Work is a 501 c4 nonprofit, worldwide all-volunteer effort. Don’t forget to ride on Monday June 20th.
