Exhaust selection is critical for optimal performance. Open drag pipes work reasonably well for peak horsepower numbers on some engines but limit low speed performance on the street and can be nearly impossible to carburet. S&S Cycle has not had good results with baffled drag pipes due to the increase of exhaust gas restriction (back pressure).
Special low restriction Cycle Shack XP baffle is available through most retail suppliers, and will help with tuning in some cases.
Overall, drag pipes are a poor choice for street use. Drag pipes offer nothing to break up the reversion wave pulse. This wave goes down the pipe and then the wave returns back up the pipes. When this wave is in proper time sync to hit the exhaust valve when it is open (pipe length affects the rpm that this happens) it allows the wave to enter the cylinder and when the intake is open during cam overlap it travels across the top of the piston (it is near top of the cylinder at this time) and out the intake valve. Except on very few one-off customs, copper didn’t find its way to motorcycle wheels. Renegade Wheels has decided to offer any of its wheel sizes and models in copper finish. For sure, a high visual impact. The company will protect the copper with a clear coat to minimize maintenance. Still, copper is a quite soft material, not reacting with water but slowly reacting to moist and salted atmosphere. So, I will not recommend copper for a daily rider in all weather conditions. The others looking to grab attention can go for it. It will cost you $200 more per wheel, a very reasonable price to ride on very exotic wheels. Renegade Wheels.

Captain America Chopper. From $1.62 Million To No Sale. This last weekend, friend of the industry Paul D’Orleans from “The Vintagent” states that the “buyer” of the Captain America bike auctioned in October for $1.62 million would have backed out. The reason? A series of tweets by Peter Fonda – who had previously endorsed the machine – casting doubts on the bike’s authenticity sold by Michael Eisenberg. D’Orleans claims that the seller went to great lengths to support the sale, hiring a forensic investigator and even subjecting Dan Haggerty, who restored the bike, to 3 polygraph tests which he passed. What was certified by Haggerty as genuine was only the “B” the bike frame used in the movie final stunt and built by Larry Marcus and Ben Hardy. The rest of Haggerty’s restoration would be only a reproduction of the ‘A’ (or hero) bike, long ago stolen and dispersed.
Royal Enfield Wants To Become The Worldwide Leader In the Mid-Sized Motorcycle Segment. The company is on an aggressive expansion mode. After shortening the waiting period for some of its models from around 10 months to five months, Royal Enfield is looking for new ways to ramp up production at its two current facilities in Indian and launched plans for a third plant construction. In 2013, the company produced over 170,000 motorcycles and in 2014 should manufacture a total 300,000. Royal Enfield reported a 47.45% increase in total sales in October 2014 at 26,039 units against 17,659 in the same month of last year. Royal Enfield also made it clear that the North American market is the main export market they have set their sights on. Royal Enfield Motors, which claims to be the world’s oldest motorcycle company in continuous production, is pursuing a comeback in the US with assistance from Rod Copes, who previously led Harley’s efforts in Asia and other emerging markets.

16 reasons why some men have a dog and no wife.
1. The later you are, the more excited your dog is to see you.
2. Dogs don’t notice if you call them by another dog’s name.
3. Dogs like it if you leave things on the floor.
4. Dogs’ parents never visit.
5. Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.
6. You never have to wait for a dog. They’re ready to go, instantly, 24 hours a day.
7. Dogs find you interesting when you’re drunk.
8. Dogs like to go hunting and fishing.
9. Dogs won’t wake you up at night to ask: “If I died, would you get another dog?”
10. If a dog has babies, you can put an ad in the paper and sell them.
11. When you drop a silent one, they enjoy the aroma and don’t run around frantically with room spray.
13. Dogs never tell you to stop scratching your balls. Instead, they sit pondering why you don’t lick them.
14. Dogs will let you put a studded collar on without calling you a pervert.
15. If a dog smells another dog on you, it won’t kick you in the crotch. It just finds it interesting.
16. If a dog runs off and leaves you, it won’t take half your stuff.
To verify these statements, lock your wife and your dog in the garage for an hour. Then open the door, and observe who’s happy to see you!

The Sportster based Café Racer has become a style in its own right, taking the classic look to new levels and doing it with a magic only a Harley can bring to the table. The one missing piece of that Café Ton up formula is often a traditional tail section and thanks to the folks at Burly Brand that’s no longer a challenge.
Their latest solo seat/cowl is designed to bolt to the 2004-2014 Sportster chassis and complete the XL’s café transformation. Unlike the Café seats that sit on a stock fender, they’ve created a true tail section, opening up the rear of the bike for an authentic look.
Available in partially covered with paintable black gel coat as well as a full covered version, with both featuring a gel insert in the seating area for maximum comfort.
Requires removal of fender, supporting struts and relocation of taillight and signals. Includes mounting hardware for OEM electronics.
Made in the US of A! Check out the Burly Website or contact your local dealer to get yours.
