McQueen was a renowned Triumph enthusiast and also wore a Heuer Monaco watch in the 1970 Le Mans classic movie where he was racing a Porsche 917k. Because the Triumph Bonneville and TAG Heuer Monaco are both timeless masterpieces, celebrating their respective 50th and 40th anniversaries this year, both companies have joined forces to create a one-of-a-kind Bonneville Heuer motorcycle. As you can see. this one-of-a-kind commemorative bike is painted up in the classic Gulf Oil blue and orange scheme and will be used for promotional purposes. If you like the bike as much as I do, perhaps a phone call, an email, a letter toyour local Triumph dealer will convince the factory to put it in (limited) production.

Not every motorcycle company is slowing down, Royal Enfield is investing almost $14 million dollars to expand their manufacturing capacity, raising their production potential from the current 50,000 units a year to 100,000. Royal Enfield think that their overseas sales are going to grow 15% per year in the next four-five years. Personally I like very much their retro Bullet Classic model – Brad Pitt is in Japan to promote his movie the “Inglourious Basterds” and uses this opportunity to visit custom motorcycle builders in Tokyo. He is looking for one new bike (at least) to replace the one he damaged 2 weeks ago in LA. Aluminum body work and stainless steel can’t stand any fall and occuring damage, even at idle speed…- Harley-Davidson just stated that Shelbyville, Ky., now is the only location being considered for a new factory should the Milwaukee heavyweight motorcycle manufacturer decide to close its assembly plant in York, PA

I like very much these hot rod inspired controls with a satin look (please, don’t chrome them!). Universal Low Tunnel Gas Tanks

Ron Paugh, the Bossman of Paughco calls them “Universal”, hence my headline. But as a Custom Builder I have to warn all of you who are not professionals that any gas tank may need some tweaking, at least at the bolting points, to sit perfectly (meaning the way you like it) on your backbone frame.
In this case, “Universal” means a gas tank model fitting a wide range of machines and styles, from choppers to open road cruisers. As a matter of fact they are designed for use on bikes with stretched top tubes and have an unmistakable “teardrop” shape. Each tank has stock style screw-in filler and vent and standard 22 mm external thread petcock fitting for use with OEM and aftermarket left side mounted petcocks.

Charles Bronson’s 1972 Honda XL250 Auctioned On eBay

Sounds like all silver screen celebrities owned motorcycles with their estates deciding that it’s no more worth it to keep them. Formerly the property of legendary Hollywood actor Charles Bronson, this 1972 Honda XL250 dirt bike was owned, registered and ridden regularly by the silver screen icon and remains in original unrestored condition. This motorcycle was consigned by the Bronson estate (after the actor’s death) to the 2007 Bonhams auction at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles where the current owner purchased it. It has been 5 years since he left the custom motorcycle scene, but his mark and influence will remain forever on our Chopper Culture. Indian Larry’s life story is unique. Harley-Davidson Shutting Down Talladega Test facility, Eliminating about 100 jobs there.

Harley-Davidson says it’s consolidating its test operations from Talladega, Naples, Fla., and Mesa, Ariz. to the Arizona Proving Grounds in Yucca, Ariz. The Talladega facility, opened in 1981, has just under 70 Harley-Davidson employees as well as just under 40 contract workers. The facility performed several kinds of vehicle testing, including emissions, brake, sound, durability and automated vehicle tests. High-speed tests were performed at the Talladega SuperSpeedway. In addition, full vehicle testing is sometimes performed at Ford’s Desert Proving Grounds and Ford’s Evaluation Center in Naples, Florida. Harley Davidson is now expanding its testing in Yucca, about 40 miles northeast of Lake Havasu City. Chrysler, which owns the 3,650-acre Arizona Proving Ground, started leasing its facility to Harley-Davidson in October 2008
