Steven Tyler. Asshole Of Sturgis 2009?

steventylerbisWritten by Rogue, Sturgis Freedom Fighters, Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Member 2005

“Steven Tyler made a total ass of himself in Sturgis. Tuesday evening he attended Michael Lichter’s Rebel Rousers VIP Event and had trouble navigating around the room, and to me appeared to be under the influence of something. As he was trying to make it across the room the two thugs he had with him were yelling for the crowd to get out of the way. That may be the way they handle things in the music crowd, but it is not how it is done in the motorcycle world and more than one of the people there made comment on it and I had to ask one of the bikers there who was offended by what went on not to do anything inside the building out of respect for Michael. 2009 Sturgis Rally Debrief

sturgismainstreetAlthough the rally will officially end this Sunday evening, plenty of bikers had their fun and have already left Western South Dakota for the ride home. The number of participants seems to be about the same than in 2008. As of today Saturday, 6th official day of the event, one biker has died in a motorcycle accident (out of 66 accidents with injuries). Last year, 3 bikers were killed. This year, the city of Sturgis sold 696 vendor permits, 1 more than in 2008. This year, no matter the “recession prices” offered to bikers, people just were not buying accessories and merchandise or spending as much in bars and restaurants. 2010 Buell 1125CR Modern Cafe Racer

2010Buell1125CRIt is Erik Buell’s vision of a modern day Cafe Racer to blend class-leading performance with sinister styling and a wicked attitude to push the boundaries of the streetfighter category. The Buell 1125CR model combines the 146-hp, liquid-cooled Helicon 1125 cc V-Twin engine with the Buell Intuitive Response Chassis (IRC) to create a bad attitude bike backed up with exceptional performance. Fierce Hail Storm Blasts Sturgis Rally

sturgishailsturgishailbissturgishail3South Dakota summer weather is always unpredictable. And going from 95F with blue skies to hail storm in one hour and back to 95F is not unusual (I experienced hail while riding Custer Park a few years ago.It hurts…). Dave Cook 1st American To Win AMD World Championship Of Bike Building

Dave Cook 1st American To Win AMD World Championship Of Bike Building
Not bad for somebody who decided to become a full-time Custom Builder only in 2002 (after being a semi=pro during a dozen of years). As soon as the custom bikes were setup under the giant white tent of the 2009 AMD World Championship Of Bike Building in Sturgis, the pros of the industry were buzzing about Dave Cook’s latest creation. Yes, at first glance he was a favorite and yesterday saw his triumph, meaning a full year of World Champion bragging rights, a lot of magazine features, interviews, but more important for the industry extra motivation to defend his title next year and stimulation for all custom builders.
83 top of the line custom motorcycles from around the world (compared to 67 in 2008), competed in this year’s event showcasing the most amazing display of custom motorcycles. Judging and voting is made by competitors. After being declared the winner Dave Cook of Cook Custom Choppers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin stated , “I have dedicated the best part of the last 3 years trying to win the World Championship, and finally I have achieved the ultimate recognition of my fellow professionals. It is very humbling”
Dominated by builders from Canada, Japan and Europe for the first 5 years, this year 7 of the top 10 competitors are from the USA. Second place is Kris Krome, of Freeland, Michigan. Third place went to Freddie “Krugger” Bertrand from Belgium.  Fourth place went to Stellan Egeland from Sweden and fith place to Satya Kraus of Cazedero, California. I will feature their bikes very soon.

baggersubwoofer

If you have a factory audio system installed on your bagger, you are missing something. Low bass. And if you don’t have low bass your are missing half of the music you are listening to. You need a good sub-woofer to handle the lower end of the audio spectrum. Hell’s Foundry just introduced an integrated drop-in subwoofer system designed to fit into H-D’s King and Ultra Tour Paks. This is not a generic bass tube, but a complete form fitted liner/enclosure packed with an 8” Polk Audio marine rated subwoofer, a 500 watt Sony Xplod® mono-block amplifier and simple “plug and play” wiring. It can easily be added to any system to add serious depth and punch. Hell’s Foundry offers complete audio upgrade solutions for your Bagger. 2009 Sturgis Rally. Is It Trike Week?

crossbowtrikecyrilhuzeblogFor the past 2 decades, Harley-Davidson has successfully marketed its bikes to baby-boomers. And you know the problem: boomers are graying. Consequence, some of those older riders quit riding or ride much less and buy less motorcycles. Harley buyers were an average age of 38 in the early 90’s, and now 50! Just observe the rally goers. A high percentage of gray hair riding baggers or trikes. Continue reading ‘2009 Sturgis Rally. Is It Trike Week?’
