One scene steals the show in a film that is overloaded with special effects and robotic action.
Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow drops from Iron Man’s jet onboard the all-electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire and hits the ground running, careening through South Korean traffic, drifting through turns and speeding up staircases.
“We did things with that bike that even Harley thought they couldn’t do,” said stunt coordinator Greg Powell, who was tasked with choreographing the scene dreamed up by Avengers director and writer Joss.
The LiveWire riding stunts are performed by 22-year-old Johansson’s 22-year-old double Sarah Vignot of France. Go to see the movie (in theaters since yesterday May 1st), at least to see her performed wheelies, stoppies, wheel spins and drifting. This young girl is more than very, very good. She’s fantastic.
In 2011 Victory Motorcycles Sweden froze a 2002 V92 TC to be exhibited at the Sweden Ice Hotel. The bike was defrosted this year and delivered to a shop called Stonetown Custom.
After only 1 hour of workshop time (oil change, fresh fuel and a new battery BUT without needing new spark plugs or any other replacement electrical parts) the Victory was brought back to life and fired up.

Concept motorcycle renderings are always entertaining. These ones by Alex Padwa and Davidi Gilad, 2 designers who don’t pretend to know about motorcycles, just about lines. Maybe this type of work could be the pretext for a game of the 7 errors to find in less than 1 minute (there are more than 7 making this project absolutely impossible to live as a real motorcycle). I give you the 1st one: not enough degrees to steer the bars. Find them all, fast.
Just for your entertainment (huh…) Angelica Ganea, a Canadian Pop & Classical, singer and songwriter imagined her beloved Indian Chief covered with Swarovski Crystals. Gifted with crystal application engineering skills (a side business), and confident with her craft, she created the “blingest” Classic Indian Motorcycle known to man. As I say all the time, every act of imagination makes the world a more interesting place…

In October 2009, Harley-Davidson shut down the Erik Buell manufacturing. 2 months later Erik Buell created his independent company EBR for Erik Buell Racing, the only American sport bike company. In 2010, Joseph Sousa and Matt Sienkiewicz began to film Erik Buell to document his daily fight to grow his new company and to find financial support. Unfortunately, the last visit to EBR by the filming crew was mid 2014, so the 1 hour movie doesn’t include the demise of EBR this April. It will air on Wisconsin Public Television on Friday, May 8 at 10:02 pm, or you can rent or buy it at Vimeo on Demand. Certainly worth a watch. Below is the trailer of “Ragged Edge”
On April 22, 2015, Don Mahoney of Carlsbad, CA along with partner Lars Roulund of Santa Ana, California based High End Seating Solutions (HESS), the makers of Danny Gray Seats acquired the AIRHAWK® Comfort Seating Systems brand and product line.
AIRHAWK, a brand of seat overlays serving motorcycle enthusiasts, and HESS, a high-end motorcycle seat design and manufacturing company, have a history of partnership.
Corbin’s new Dual Touring Saddle is designed to maximize the seating area by positioning the rider bucket in the sweet spot to offer the best possible ergonomics and long range comfort. Sculpted seating platforms conform to the shape of your body to give more square inches of even support and eliminate hot spots and pressure on your tailbone. This version of Corbin’s Dual Touring saddle is specially designed to work with the Roadmaster trunk.
Bucket shaping of the front seating area gives a great amount of body support. Back curves up at the back provide over six inches of support to your lower back. Towards the front of the bucket the saddle goes narrower to allow for ground reach. Smaller riders may prefer to slide forward and out of the bucket at stop signs for best ground reach.
J&P Cycles is experiencing growing pains. The 36th annual J&P Cycles Open House Rally, scheduled for June 27-28, is being moved to a different location than the usual J&P headquarters. This year, the rally is moving to the Jones County Fairgrounds, located in Monticello, Iowa, just 10 miles north of Anamosa. The size of the event is the main reason for the move as it has grown tremendously over the years. A concert held on the grounds last year was a great addition, and one that takes up even more room. The Jones County Fairgrounds is used to hosting large events – it’s the venue for one of the largest county fairs in the state of Iowa. With a built-in stage, spacious grounds and indoor space galore, it is the perfect fit. Concerts will be a feature of this year’s event, too. A free concert on Sunday, June 28, will feature the rock band, Great White. Hit songs include Once Bitten Twice Shy, Rock Me, Save Your Love and House of Broken Love, to name a few. The line-up for Saturday’s live music will be announced soon. Continue reading ‘J&P Cycles 36th Anniversary Open House. June 27-28 In A New Location.’

With the People’s Republic of China to the west and Japan to the east and northeast, Winston Yeh will tell you that his Taiwan shop Rough Crafts benefits from the best of both countries, respectively machining expertise and motorcycle manufacturing know how. So, is Taiwan a great place to build custom motorcycles? Maybe, except Taiwan crazy regulations that will discourage many builders in the occidental world: all bikes bigger than 250cc have to pass an annual exam after they are older than five years. The bike is compared to the stock picture, and if it looks too different it’s extremely difficult to get a registration. But I guess that Yeh sells most of his work outside his island. A Mafia Godfather finds out that his bookkeeper Guido has cheated him out of $10 millions. His bookkeeper is deaf. That was the reason he got the job in the first place. It was assumed that Guido would hear nothing and would therefore never have to testify in court. When the Godfather goes to confront Guido about the missing $10 million, he takes along his lawyer, who knows sign language.
The Godfather tells the lawyer, “Ask him where the money is.” The lawyer, using sign language, asks Guido, “Where’s the money?” Guido signs back, “I don’t know what you are talking about.” The lawyer tells the Godfather, “He says he doesn’t know what you are talking about.
The Godfather pulls out a pistol, puts it to Guido’s head and says, “Ask him again or I’ll kill him!” The lawyer signs to Guido, “He’ll kill you if you don’t tell him.” Guido trembles and signs back, “OK! You win! The money is in a brown briefcase, buried behind the shed at my cousin Bruno’s house.”
The Godfather asks the lawyer, “What did he say?” The lawyer replies, “He says you don’t have the guts to pull the trigger.”
Harley-Davidson is recalling 45,901 model-year 2014-15 motorcycles manufactured between from April 28, 2014 to October 24, 2014 because the clutch may not fully disengage.
The models affected are Electra Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU), Electra Glide Ultra Classic – Twin Cooled (FLHTCU TC), Ultra Limited (FLHTK), Police Electra Glide (FLHTP), Street Glide (FLHX), Street Glide Special (FLHXS), CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE), 2015 Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low (FLHTCUL), Ultra Limited Low (FLHTKL), Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low – Twin Cooled (FLHTCUL TC), Road Glide Special (FLTRXS), Road Glide (FLTRX), and 2014 CVO Road King (FLHRSE)
The clutch issue is described as the clutch master cylinder losing the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch, especially if the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period of time. When the engine is running and the motorcycle is in gear, if the clutch cannot be fully disengaged, the motorcycle may move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash. Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and Harley dealers will flush the clutch system and rebuild the clutch master cylinder free of charge. The recall started April 24, 2015. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Continue reading ‘Harley-Davidson Recalls 46,000 Models For Clutch Issue And 9000 Street Models For Possible Missing Reflector.’

You can bet that there is one happy man in Sweden…
S&S Cycle Inc. announced today that they are transferring ownership of the Flathead Power® brand back to Anders Nygren, the original founder of the Flathead Power company in Sweden free of charge. “We decided to discontinue using Flathead Power as a brand for our vintage product line about a year ago to consolidate our branding under the S&S Cycle name. We still owned the FHP trademark but had no plans to use it, so we decided to give it back to Anders.” says S&S Company president Paul Langley.
When we called Anders to give him the news he was overjoyed. “The happiness when Bruce and Eric called and told me that I could have my old company name back was overwhelming. To be able to use what once was the start of over 20 years of production. The first 12 in Sweden, and the rest in the US. Flathead Power, just a name, means a lot to me and my family, as the next generation is taking over the jug juggling. My son Magnus was born in 1995, Flathead Power started in 1993, so he grew up with this. I can only take my hat off and say: Thank You S&S Cycle and the guys involved!” Continue reading ‘Breaking News. S&S Cycle Flathead Power Brand Goes Back Home In Sweden To Anders Nygren.’

Following Erik Buell Racing ceasing operations on April 15, 2015, 5 points you need to know.
1- Erik Buell Racing (EBR) was created in November 2009 in East Troy, Wisconsin following the shutdown of his previous company, Buell Motorcycle Company, by parent company/majority stakeholder Harley-Davidson. Made In America. What Does It Mean? A bill to amend the California law governing “Made in U.S.A.” labeling was approved by an assembly committee and is now on the floor of the assembly for a vote by all members. Under current law, the standard in California for designating products as “Made in U.S.A.” is different and more onerous than the standard established by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC allows manufacturers to display the “Made in U.S.A.” designation on products that are “all or virtually all” made in the United States. California has put in place a different standard requiring the product and all its subcomponents to be entirely or substantially produced in the U.S. in order to be labeled as “Made in U.S.A.” This bill would resolve this discrepancy.
