RC Components, a 25-year leader in custom motorcycle wheels, is introducing new wheel designs for 2015 and of course their matching rotors, pulleys, sprockets and even air cleaners. They are offered in sizes from 16” to 26 “ for most Harley and Victory models. Made in the USA. More info at RC Components or call 800-360-0915.
From left to right:
1- The Cypher Wheel (Chrome, Black or Eclipse finish) A ten spoke design featuring smooth and twisted lines that work together to create the illusion of speed while sitting still. Machined details outline each spoke and transition into a smooth rim accent on the outer edge of the wheel.
2-3-Dynasty And Dynasty Accent Wheels (Chrome or Eclipse finish) The detailed rim accents between each spoke are machined with a stepped ridge detail which creates an eye catching element that extends onto the outer rim lip.
4- Paradox Wheel (Chrome or Elipse Finish) A unique blending of seven smooth, tapered spokes accented by a complex diamond cut pattern that extend off the back edge of each spoke. This intricate 3D wheel design stands in a class all it’s own.

This helmet is expected to go on sale in the US in summer 2015. Conceived by Livemap, a Russian startup with seeds money provided by the Russian Ministry Of Science, this high tech helmet goes where no other high tech helmet never went.
Among other features, it displays high resolution directions directly in a rider’s field of vision with such transparency that the rider’s vision is never blocked. The technology involves the use of aspheric lenses much smaller, lighter and less expensive than multi-lens designs.
Skully Helmets has already developed a motorcycle helmet offering “a fighter pilot-style Heads Up Display”,a 180 degree rear-view camera and eliminating the need for rear-view mirrors. Livemap is dismissing its main competitor stating that their product has a tiny screen, a low saturation, contrast and low resolution…

These 2.5-inch, bullet-shaped reflector-optics LED fog lamps (P/N 68000090 Chrome, P/N 68000092 Gloss Black; $399.95) mount to the engine guard and produce a pool of bright light that fills the dark area between the motorcycle and the low-beam headlamp pattern.
The fog lamps project a smooth light pattern without distracting hot spots. The natural daylight lamp color amplifies the reflective character of lane markers. Unlike some traditional fog lamps, these low-draw LED lamps do not burden the motorcycle electrical system.
The long-life solid-state LED lamps are sealed in shock and vibration-resistant housings. Offered with a choice of gloss black or chrome housing, the Daymaker Reflector LED Fog Lamp kits fit Dyna®, Softail®, Touring and Trike models equipped with 1.25-inch diameter engine guards, but do not fit models with the accessory Mustache Engine Guards. Installation requires the separate purchase of a model-specific Clamp and Wiring Harness Kits. At Harley-Davidson Online Store.

For the last 8 years, Mother Road Customs has been making custom leather seats, seat pans and saddlebags for most Harley Davidson models, with an emphasis ony Sportsters, Choppers and Bobbers, but also for Indians, Triumphs, BSAs and Ducatis. Their style and leather work harkens back to an era when things were made of cast iron, canvas, solid woods, and leather throughout. A time when things were meant to last, and they were done the old fashioned way. Mother Road Customs is a shop filled with sewing machines and machine tools that come from an era when computers were still science fiction. Mother Road Customs (314-972-4305) is located close to the Route 66 in St Charles, Missouri and will accept one-off work from the USA and abroad.

This is an encouraging trend, but it is likely just that. It is a promising direction. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that motorcycle fatalities have dropped for the second year in a row, reports the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF). According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System, or FARS data, collected by the federal government, motorcycle fatalities for 2013 dropped from 4,986 to 4,668 a difference of 318. The motorcycle fatality drop was the largest percentage of all vehicle groups at 6.4 percent. This is the second year on year drop in motorcycle fatalities since 2009. Another aspect motorcyclists can be proud of is the decrease in the number of alcohol related deaths. Fatal crashes where alcohol was a factor dropped by 117 deaths, or 8.3%, also the largest decrease in the category.
Also reported was the drop in the number of injured motorcyclists from 93,000 to 88,000, a 5.4 percent drop. Eighty-eight thousand still seems like an awfully large number but consider that the number of passenger vehicle injuries is 2,046,000 for 2013. The drop in injured motorcyclists is again the largest decrease in the category. Continue reading ‘Motorcycle Fatalities Drop In The USA For Second Year In A Row’

A little girl was being driven to school by her mother when she asked, “Mommy, how old are you?” The mother replied, Honey you should know that nobody should ask a woman her age. It’s not nice”. A few minutes later the little girl asked, “Mommy, how much do you weigh?” The mother again replied ” Sweet Heart you must learn that it is not polite to ask a woman how much she weighs”.
So the young lady gets dropped off at school and at recess she is telling her friend what happened on her way to school and her friend says to her, “Well If you want to know that stuff just look at her drivers license.” So the next day during the drive to school the little girl says ” Mommy I know how old you are, 46. And I also know how much you weigh, 160. AND I also know why Daddy divorced you. Because you got an F in sex.”

One month ago, I published a story about the German produced KessTech Exhausts featuring an electronic sound management system to adjust the volume of your exhaust via a switch in a ¼ second at all speeds and in any gear (Harley-Davidson of Glendale is the importer in the US)
When the system is activated, all sound and power values strictly comply with the legal directives of both Europe and of the USA (even in California) KessTech just released a commercial to support its claim of “volume is adjustable at a touch of a button”
Some may find this ad quite funny, others will find it offensive and of very bad taste. I let you judge. For sure, this commercial would not be allowed in the US. Watch…
