Stolen Cannonball Antique Motorcycles And Trailer Found In South Seattle

Seattle Police say the trailer with the 4 antique motorcycles used in the Cannonball Endurance Run that was stolen from a Tacoma hotel parking lot on Tuesday, was recovered by Seattle police officers in South Seattle Wednesday afternoon.
The stolen trailer was spotted by a witness about 12:30 pm in the 2700 block of 7th Place South,” according to detective Patrick Michaud. Officers called to the scene opened the trailer and found four stolen Harleys. Some tools, a motor are missing in the trailer.
The bikes were dusted for fingerprints and the theft remains under investigation.

Klock Werks’ Karlee Cobb Leads Design Of A Triumph T100 to Support Tony Hawk’s 11th Annual “Stand Up For Skate Parks” Event

Most known for her land speed racing, the second generation of the Klock Werks family, Karlee Cobb, 21, just launched her first design effort at the Tony Hawk Foundation’s “Stand Up for SkateParks” event held in Beverly Hills, CA. Perry Farrell, lead signer of Jane’s Addiction and founder of Lollapalooza, along with wife Etty, won the bidding for the 2014 Triumph T100 desert runner Karlee designed.
The Kustom design is based off a 2014 Bonneville T100 donated by Triumph Motorcycles. It sports modified and custom made parts by Klock Werks, along with carefully chosen parts from Triumph, British Customs, Joker Machine, Metzeler Tires, Nash Motorcycle Company and Hagon Shocks. Brad Smith of The Factory Match flawlessly applied the Custom Paint job.
“Our team at Klock Werks did a great job of executing on timeline and budget.” Karlee explained. “It was an honor to work with The Tony Hawk Foundation as they help youth around the world enjoy the benefits of skateboarding and the safety of skate parks. It’s a great event and great cause! I was so excited that Perry Farrell bought my first custom! He loved it!”

Last night, 4 Motorcycle Cannonball antique bikes and their support truck and trailer were stolen from the Hotel Murano in Tacoma, Washington. The bikes were as follows.
(Number 54) 1919 Harley Davidson J,
(Number 73) 1926 Harley Davidson JD,
(Number 76) 1931 Harley Davidson VL,
(Number 99) 1928 Harley Davidson JD.
The truck is a dark grey 2001 Ford F250 with Motorcycle Cannonball logos on the front doors, and the trailer is a 16 foot enclosed grey trailer with 4 windows and a large Motorcycle Cannonball logo on the rear door. The license is Texas 41968M.
Team Carson Classic Motors is offering a $20,000 reward for the return of the motorcycles, truck, trailer, and contents.

Is It The Right Way To Celebrate Tattoo Art?

One day, Willie G. Davidson told me “when I think I have seen everything, I walk a bike show and I still get very surprised by what people decide to do with a Harley” Me too… This bike is being built by a Polish shop called Game Over Cycles in collaboration with German company Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Equipment. The idea is to cover the bike entire body and tires in light colored leather similar to the color of human skin, then to have tattoos inked all over it. Why not, except that in real life, we all prefer to admire tattoos applied on a beautiful body… If you absolutely want to see the completed bike with all its leather inked tattoos and live in the UK, it will premiere September 27th at the London Tattoo Convention.

Skinny Panhead Bagger By LA Speed Shop.

Last January, I published my 5 predictions for 2014. Among them I wrote “I expect a new customized bagger trend to emerge (in contrast to fat baggers overloaded with multiple gizmos) with lighter, more nimble, streamlined, naked machines.” And I am glad that Chris Richardson from LA Speed Shop is one of the first custom builders going in this direction with this slick and elegant bagger using a 1953 straight leg Harley-Davidson frame, a 1959 Panhead and a 4-speed tranny as its platform main components. A new “old” skinny bagger that you preview just before it is officially introduced to the public during the upcoming Las Vegas BikeFest “Artistry In Iron” competition (Oct.5-7), a custom builders championship that Richardson already won in 2010 and 2011.
Although Chris Richardson admits that he doesn’t plan very much in advance each of his builds, in this case he had a very clear vision of what a skinny bagger should look like. Evidently, a narrow front end, narrow bars, a narrow gas tank and even more important, super skinny bags that had to be fabricated from scratch. A bigger challenge than most can imagine because when you build on a custom frame, probability is that each side of the bike is going to be different, implying different custom brackets and building 2 different bags while making them look as duplicates. …“If I knew before I started what a complete pain in the a** these bags would be, I probably would have never made them…” told me Richardson. Made of 16 gauge steel this custom set of bags consumed 25% of the building time, to which you can add the trials and errors to figure out the correct lids and hinge system to make them open & close as they should.
