A man and his wife were spending the day at the zoo. She was wearing a loose fitting, pink dress, sleeveless with straps…He was wearing his usual jeans and T-shirt. As they walked through the ape exhibit, they passed in front of a large gorilla. Noticing the wife, the gorilla went crazy. He jumped on the bars, and holding on with one hand and two feet he grunted and pounded his chest with his free hand. He was obviously excited at the pretty lady in the pink dress.
The husband, noticing the excitement, thought this was funny. He suggested that his wife tease the poor fellow some more by puckering her lips and wiggling her bottom. She played along and the gorilla got even more excited, making noises that would wake the dead. Continue reading ‘Joke Of The Week’

In Sturgis, Fred showed me how smoothly it works and now, thanks to this brand new video, you can also see Veon going from a low-seat/feet-forward/cruiser configuration, to a high-seat/feet-aft/sport-racing configuration, as well as any intermediate position. Behind the Broken Spoke brand name that bikers know all over the world, there is a man called Jay Allen. He is the creator and Chief Entertaining Officer of 6 huge bars across the USA (Daytona, Laconia, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, Sturgis downtown & campground) and of the Sturgis County Line Campground where, tirelessly, he provides some of the best entertainment that rally goers may want. He is also an accomplished racer, and holds several Bonneville land speed records. From his retreat in Bisbee, AZ and while on his way to Biketoberfest, Jay answered my questions.

Flash Back. Glenn Curtis 1907 World Land Speed Record Machine.
Published by October 12th, 2010 in Builders, Editorial and Events.Thursday January 24, 1907 in Ormond Beach, Florida. Glenn Curtis climbs aboard his 280 pounds V8 motorcycle. After 2 miles the machine reaches its top speed and is clocked at 136.3 mph, covering a mile in 25 1/4 seconds. He became the world’s fastest man and his land speed record held 11 years until a Blitzen Benz car reached the speed of 141 mph. Glenn built numerous engines and was also a plane pilot. He became an american hero who inspired popular books like “Tom Swift and His Motor-Cycle”, “The Adventures of Tom Swift” and “Fun and Adventures on the Road”. Glenn’s bike is preciously kept at the Smithsonian Museum.

Biketoberfest. Rat’s Hole Show Is Saturday October 16, 2010.

It’s the best location in town for a bike show and I am glad that we can park safely…after paying big bucks to the city.
The all-day show will feature 22 classes of motorcycles, Good Times MC Radical Randy, the usual tattoo contests and Rat’s Mates to pose on your custom bike. To register a bike, jump to Rat’s Hole Show.

Intermot, the largest European Motorcycle Fair held in Cologne, Germany closed its doors yesterday with organizers claiming 219,000 visitors, 4% more exhibitors and 5% more motorcycles exhibited on the floor. Unfortunately, it is reported to me that very few young people could be seen on the floor.
