Ultra Motorcycle Company Entering The European Market

It’s never been a better time for Europeans to buy American products. With an exchange rate giving each European 1.60 dollars for 1.00 Euro, everything US made is a bargain…even after shipping to the old continent. Add to this a very depressed economy and you understand that even our motorcycle companies try to penetrate new markets looking for revenues in a strong currency. Best Western Courts Harley-Davidson Riders. Take Advantage.

Best Western and the Harley-Davidson Motor Company have agreed to bring travel benefits to Harley-Davidson enthusiasts. Harley states that more than 1,000 Best Western hotels in the US and Canada have been identified as “bikers friendly”. Did you noticed? They say “bikers friendly”, not “Harley friendly”. I don’t know if this agreement costs any money to Harley or to Best Western, or both, but since hotel employees cannot identify a Harley from a Big Dog from a pure Custom, you are in luck. Jim Nasi Better Looking Touring Solution

If I have a good memory, Arlen Ness was the 1st builder in 93 to offer custom bags. At the time, I bought 2 sets for my customs. Then it was Corbin in a very different style. And during these last 3 years the number of bag kits released, (a total package including the rear fender, side panels and taillight) shows you how big is the market for touring parts and accessories. Single-Sided Swingarm. Oil Tank Incorporated.

You know that there is not sleek bike without building it from a great frame. What about the swingarm which I consider an inherent part of the frame? Ever tempted, but afraid, by the idea to use a single-sided swingarm? Well, this post to give you a great source to install one either on any stock B-Motor Harley-Davidson or of course any radical custom built. For custom use, the single-sided swingarm incorporates the oil tank directly in the arm, oil filter and cap included. I told you. Very sleek and not so difficult to install, especially with the advice of the experts at Rolling Thunder Call Sam or Spencer on by behalf at: 450-699-7045 or visit Rolling Thunder Frames.

Mini DOT Approved Helmets

Good looking Mini DOT helmets are a rare find. Just be careful with vendors affixing a DOT approved sticker in an otherwise novelty helmet, except if you want to confuse who you know. Your problem, not mine. Anyway, Mikes Helmets promises in his website that these 2 shells are perfectly legal. They are just a little bit larger, by about 10%, than their novelty counterparts. Made out of lighweight figerglass, cost $54.95, and even a little bit less if you call on my behalf. Mikes Helmets.

Skull Art To Suck Air

I am not in dragons, vampires, pirates, ghosts, bones and skulls. Until I saw this beautifully sculpted “Air Sucker”. I think it’s killer and would love to use it, proof again that I should never say NEVER to any style.  It is offered by a Japanese shop called “Bull Original”! Available for HD carbs and S&S B,  E & G. Now if you want one you will have to order directly from the shop in Japan but they speak a little bit of English and I am nice enough to give you their email: dot1466@mc-bull.com. Some other interesting Jap. stuff (clothing, parts and bikes) in their quite messy website. Bull Original.

Odyssey To The S&S Cycle 50th Anniversary Celebration

From tomorrow Thursday June 26th To Sunday the 29th, S&S Cycle is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and you already know that the main event is 50 Builders competing with their S&S powered customs to get a chance to win a $50,000 prize.  I had to decline my participation, but of course I have seen some of the new awesome bikes that my fellow builders are going to unveil during this show. Like this one built by Odyssey Motorcycles and called “Naga”, which is the name of a Chili Pepper found in India (you learn a lot in my Blog!). You are all invited to vote for each and every bike by going to the S&S 50th Build-Off Website (some builders still didn’t upload their bike picture. Not my fault!).

Hot New Flame Mirror

When you think that a flame is a flame and a flame mirror a flame mirror, somebody finds a way, meaning a machining technique, to make it looking different from all others. Made out of aluminum, the back of this new mirror is highly detailed and sculpted, with a high hand-polished mirror finish then chrome plated. Stems fit almost a lot of applications, and I remind you that metric bikes accept American bikes mirrors by the use of a small adapter. Front of the mirror uses an unbreakable acrylic glass. For sale at MotoTrix Online.

Australia’s #1 Harley Magazine Answers Your Questions

You tell me over and over that you love to see custom bikes from different countries. And personally, I enjoy very much looking (I can only read 2 languages) at all the foreign magazines I receive. Different cultures translate into different custom motorcycles. So, from time to time, I post a foreign born bike and your emails tell me you would like to see more. A Blog being a very limited space for each of my articles, the other way to refresh your eyes is to travel the web looking for the leader magazine in each country. Not easy if you don’t know where to look. Continue reading ‘Australia’s #1 Harley Magazine Answers Your Questions’

Burly Bars For Your Bagger

Custom baggers (in particular, bikes with Batwing fairings) require custom bars. Additional bends, compound curves and for the 2008 and newer models a fly by wire throttle system. All fairly daunting challenges, but not for a company that’s been committed to custom motorcycles for the last 15 years. Measuring in at an ideal 13” tall and 1 1/4” around, the Burly Bagger Bars just crest the fairing, taper smoothly into the hand controls and are dimpled and drilled for internal wiring. CNC bent curves snake around gauges and avoid interfering with speakers or fairing mounted mirrors, all the while offering the optimum in style and rider comfort. Check out the Burly Website or contact your local dealer.

Hog-Phones. Not From Harley-Davidson. Not Yet.

How come the idea of putting hog-phones in your ears didn’t come from Harley-Davidson, but from a Japanese accessory maker called Green-House.? Soon the 105th celebration is going to start in Milwaukee and I bet that among the 100’s of licensed items the Factory is going to sell with their logo on it, these “cute and wild” earphones would sell very well with the Hog Members. They are not hog-plugs but hog-pieces with an impedance of 16 Ω  and a frequency of 20Hz to 20000 Hz. In 3 different colors and 3 different sizes. Only $12….shipping cost from Japan not included! Green-House.

Myrtle Beach Residents To Pay For Anti Bike Rally Campaign

Via Myrtle Beach Sun News, below the highlights of the measures taken by the city to end motorcycle-related vending inside the city.
“Myrtle Beach City Council hit the gas on eradicating motorcycle rallies by passing a three-mill property-tax increase dedicated to an anti-bike-rally campaign
All seven council members at Tuesday’s meeting voted in favor of the tax increase, which will raise about $1 million a year. One mill equals an additional $4 in property taxes for every $100,000 of assessed value for all owner-occupied homes, and $6 for every $100,000 assessed value of commercial property and second homes. Shipping A Motorcycle At The Lowest Cost

How many times clients, friends and bikers I am meeting all year long on the show tour ask me this question. Which motorcycle transporter do you recommend? It can be because you can’t or don’t have the time to ride from Key West to Sturgis, or just because you live in San Diego and just sold  your bike on eBay to a guy located in Boston.  Below is the definitive answer I am making to all of you.  In one simple online listing you can get most US transporters traveling your route compete for your business. New Harley XR 1200. Is It Coming To The US?

Harley-Davidson launched its new XR 1200 not in the US, but in Europe! As far as I know, Harley-Davidson has never done a new model launch this way. The new Harley sport bike was presented to the press in Valencia, Spain, and you don’t need to be an expert to see immediately that the XR 1200 has the DNA of the XR750, the long time flat-track dominator. It’s air-cooled with a modified 1203cc Evolution V45 but with power increased by the use of a larger air box, downdraft fuel injection and a performance-biased exhaust system. Harley is claiming 90 horsepower at 7.000 rpm and 73.8 ft-lbs of torque maxing at a low 3.700 rpm. Harley hasn’t yet announced plans to sell the XR in North America. But if you read me every day, you know that Storz just sold the XR 1200 trademark in the US to the Motor factory. So, I bet that the XR1200 is coming very soon.

New Temporary Layoffs At Harley-Davidson

At Harley-Davidson in Springettsbury Township the temporary layoffs are in addition to Harley’s planned shutdown from June 30 through July 3. The exact number of layoffs for the week beginning Monday is not known. Harley said in April that more layoffs were on the table for the future (like the one it ordered for 4 days in fall 2007when the Springettsbury Township facility shut down to cut production). The company also said in April that it would permanently cut about 300 workers from the Springettsbury operation, in addition to another 70 production workers in Milwaukee and elsewhere. Harley also plans to cut about 360 nonproduction workers company wide. The company said it hopes to make most of the workforce reductions with early retirees.
