America’s Most Powerful 2 Into 1 Exhaust System For Harley Touring Models?

1Area512Area51Just another claim or reality? Area 51 Racing, a company in Napa, California that I didn’t know until now, is stating to me that the performance of their 2 into 1 head pipe and muffler combination for Harley-Davidson touring models 2001 to 2014 is unequaled in the industry. Their exhaust system uses a patent pending laminar flow venturi baffle extracting maximum power from high output motors. Removable sound blankets allow for adjustable decibel levels. Available as a complete system in chrome or black (with “anti reversion” contrast cut end caps) or head pipes and mufflers ($1.75” or 2”) sold separately. Watch the video after the jump. Joke Of The Week

Is it an acceptable reason to laugh at a funeral…

A very prestigious cardiologist died, and was given a very elaborate funeral by the hospital he worked for most of his life.

A huge heart, covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service as all the doctors from the hospital sat in awe. Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing forever the doctor in the beautiful heart.

At that point, one of the mourners just burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, ‘I’m so sorry… I was just thinking of my own funeral…I’m a gynecologist!’ The priest fainted!…

New Bobber Inspired e-Bikes

otocycles1otocycles2otocycles3The e-bikes market is huge and almost every day in the world a company is born from the hobby of tinkering with bicycles in a private garage.

This Spanish company now offers in Europe and in the USA 2 bold retro style, bobber-inspired models called the Otor and Otek, in 2 configurations with many options.

Great to go effortless around town thanks to a brushless hub with hall sensor, taking you at 25 mph or 40 km/h (500W) or 37 mph or 60 km/h (750W, USA only.)

Personal note. I am surprised that no major custom motorcycle builder has ever tried to complement his activity with the production of his own cool e-bikes. Just saying…

trask1trask2trask3trask4trask5trask8Most recent built Harley-Davidson custom baggers feature intensive body work, radical parts and high tech electronics, but usually keep intact the factory engine. Intermot Expo Germany Will Host The 2014 AMD World Championship Of Bike Building

1ZenMotorcyclesAfter Las Vegas, Sturgis and Essen in Gernany, the AMD World Championship is going to move again in 2014 to Cologne (Köln), Germany where it will be hosted by the respected Intermot Expo (October 1 to 5.) The AMD World Championship will rotate between Intermot and Big Bike Europe (BBE) as alternate-annual expos at the Cologne Expo center – the next BBE therefore being in October 2015, and biennial thereafter.

2RocketBobsAll these moves can appear a little bit confusing to the competition participants. Explanation” the 2013 AMD World Championship/Big Bike Europe inaugurated a new location in May in Essen, Germany. Was it the date, the lack of marketing or both, public attendance was very modest, as reported to me by the American vendors who made the trip to promote their products to Europeans. Only 2 American builders made the trip to Essen in 2013 to compete in this Championship Of Bike Building.   Continue reading ‘Intermot Expo Germany Will Host The 2014 AMD World Championship Of Bike Building’

Harley-Davidson Launching The Street 750 At 2014 India Auto Expo. Taking Orders.

street750Both the Street 750 and Street 500 will be produced in India but the latter will be launched in 2015. The reason for launching only the Street 750 in 2014 is because Harley-Davidson doesn’t want to confuse buyers with multiple launches at once.

Except the engine, The Street 750 and Street 500 share almost all their parts. The Street 750 is being launched first as the company has seen more interest in the 750 from Indian customers. Meanwhile in the USA, both the Street 500 and Street 750 should be sold at the same time. Harley-Davidson has 13 dealerships in India and should have 16 outlets by end of the year.

Joke Of The Week

cyril-huze-joke44A woman from New York was driving through a remote part of Arizona when her car broke down. An American Indian on horseback came along and offered her a ride to a nearby town.

She climbed up behind him on the horse and they rode off. The ride was uneventful, except that every few minutes the Indian would let out a Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a’ so loud that it echoed from the surrounding hills and canyon walls. When they arrived in town, he let her off at the local service station, yelled one final ‘Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a!’ and rode off.

“What did you do to get that Indian so excited?” asked the service-station attendant. “Nothing,” the woman answered  “I merely sat behind him on the horse, put my arms around his waist, and held onto the saddle horn so I wouldn’t fall off.”

“Lady,” the attendant said, “Indians don’t use saddles.”

TÜV Approved Bagger Parts For Big Wheels

ricks1In 2013, Rick’s Motorcycles was the 1st company offering a European-manufactured and TÜV-approved 30-Inch front wheel. It is now followed with the development of a number of innovative and fully homologated system components for 21 to 30″ wheel equipped Baggers. At 37.5 lbs (17 kg) Rick’s 30” x 4” CNC aluminum wheel is stated by the manufacturer as having the lowest weight versus all other 30’ wheel available in the world. Weight was minimized where it hurts the most, at the rim, with pockets cut into the entire diameter of the wheel. At certain points, stabilizing ribs preserve wheel’s integrity. Rick’s wheels have been tortured, tested at speeds of over 125 mph (200 km/h) and eventually were homologated by TÜV, the most demanding testing organization in the world. Other road tested bagger parts from Rick’s include.

ricks6ricks4Rick‘s 15’’ Brake Disc Conversion Kit
For better heat distribution, resulting in faster stopping, Rick‘s team opted for a bigger brake disc diameter to install with a 30″ wheel. The Rick‘s 15” Brake Conversion Kit will also work with Rick‘s 21″, 23″ and 26″ tall wheels. The kit includes two 15’’ full floating brake disc rotors in machine finish, two polished Rick‘s 6-piston calipers and the necessary pair of lower fork legs and hardware for specific wheel size fit.

ricks5Side Filler Kit For Touring Models 2009 – 2013:
These extended side covers offer a better look and improved airflow around the cases. They are manufactured from heavy-duty fiberglass. They are bolt-on parts using the factory mounting points. They also work with Rick‘s custom saddlebags and CVO cases, model years 2009 to 2013.

Stainless Steel Handlebar:
TÜV-approved 30 mm handlebar fitting the stock handlebar clamps. At 270 mm high, they offer a relaxed touring position. The stock handlebar/riser covers can be retained as short risers fit the stock mounting position. The handlebars allow stock or aftermarket controls. Despite the slim look and 90° angles, cables and hydraulic lines can be run internally. Continue reading ‘TÜV Approved Bagger Parts For Big Wheels’

E15 Fuel Introduction Into The U.S. Marketplace Will Probably Stall For A Year

fuel-pumpAccess to safe fuels for motorcycles remains a priority. In a news brief on November 15, 2013 from the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), it was revealed that the release of E15 fuel into the US market could be stalled for some time, which is news that should come as a relief to motorcyclists across the country. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to reduce the total amount of ethanol required in transportation fuel nationwide in 2014, which could slow the introduction of E15 fuel into the marketplace. This news means that motorcyclists don’t have to worry for a little while longer about damage to their engines when accidentally fueling up with E15 fuel. Harley-Davidson Spyders
