Chip Miyler and his wife were until October 14, 2005 the owners of Mid-West Choppers in Illinois, at which time they filed for both business and personal bankruptcy. According the filing, the business had liabilities of $2,315,325 and assets of $635,382. Personally, the couple had $1,633,221 in liabilities and $345,287 in assets.
As I related in a former POST, chip Miyler was immediately accused of taking money from about 25 clients, in the US and abroad, in exchange for down payments on custom motorcycles he promised to build. These custom bikes were never built and the money was used by himself & his wife for personal profit. Chip Miyler was also accused of applying for a bank loan offering as collateral motorcycles already sold to customers. Instead of going to trial where he would have faced 30 years in jail for each count of indictment, Chip Miyler pleaded guilty yesterday in U.S. District Court in Peoria to a single count of mail fraud. He will be sentenced on September 10th and is facing up to 30 years for this single charge.
“Dear Cyril Huze, Just a quick thank you for your blog which is wonderful. It inspired us at Back Street Heroes Magazine to start our own little UK-based blog (which is no small thing as we’re really lousy with technology!) at Back Street Heroes Blog.
We can never expect to compete with the mighty Huze Blog, but I’m really enjoying putting it together, so thanks for the inspiration! Kind regards” Blue Miller. Back Street Heroes.

To start his Farewell World Tour Robbie Knievel, son of famed daredevil Evil Knieveil is planning to jump 180 feet over 3 18-wheelers in front of the Austin Capitol on Congress Ave. More than 200,000 spectators are expected to fill the streets of downtown Austin. Many of those will be R.O.T rally fans and attendees that will parade downtown on their motorcycles for the annual event.
Knievel’s stunt man career began at the age of four when he started jumping his bicycle. He moved to jumping motorcycles at the age of seven, began touring with his father, Robert “Evel” Knievel, when he was 12 years old, and has been a famous motorcycle daredevil since 1979
This “Quadrant” will not help you solve astronomical problems, but I think that the industrial tool design of this side-mount license plate bracket is quite interesting to complete a retro look. Made out of cast aluminum it mounts off of your axle and includes the license plate bracket, the axle mount, and hardware. Optionally, you can mount on it a single or dual taillight (not included). Designed by Maund Speed and distributed by Lowbrow Customs.

In the series “it has nothing to do with motorcycles”, but because it’s fun and even useful, this post about what I think is the best clock ever. Some alarm clock can tell you a lot of things. Time, day, year, temperature…and even when to wake you up. Now, in 2009 it’s time (pun intended) for you to say to your clock what you want it to do for you. This clock has a name- “Moshi“- is very pretty to talk to, but please, no touching: this clock is voice activated. You can make many verbal requests: time and date, temperature, to program the time and alarm, to propose a variety of background sounds to please your ears (waterfall, forest, stream), etc. You don’t need to look at it. You can even stop the alarm right from your bed. Just say, “alarm off” to be certain to be late at work… $50.00. By the way, I am in love with blue lights (when they are not chasing me). Watch the beautiful demo at Moshi Lifestyle. Now, what about a voice activated motorcycle? Yes, it’s possible.

Could it be that you are still interested with what’s going on with “Clone Harley” companies Titan (3rd version) and American IronHorse (2nd version)? As I predicted in my post of April 23rd, American IronHorse has now filed for chapter 11-bankruptcy protection. Before filing for court protection, and as I told you before, American Iron Horse filed suit against both Textron (holding 6.2 million of secured debt from AIH) and Renegade Motorcycles. (Because of unpaid debt Textron is selling Titan motorcycles directly through Renegade Motorcycles). A company called New Solutions Capital (NSC) already bought the remaining assets of Titan Motorcycles and my insider source tells me that they are also looking to buy all the assets from American Iron Horse, but directly from Textron. To follow…
When I was young studying marketing & advertising at the Paris University, one of the first things I learned is that (sometimes) provocation equals seduction. Well Mike Belland from A1 Cycles must think same to name “Slut Life” his new line of clothing. He tells me that his line is sizzling, sexy beyond belief, and to convince me to come to check it out at the launch party, he mentioned that there will be more pin-ups than I can handle…(this is also called provocation). Anyway, in case I can’t handle all of them, you are also invited Thursday June 4th, from 7 to 11pm at the Cottage, 522 Lucern Avenue, Lake Worth, FL. The wild bash will feature live music by kick-ass bands. original wares of crafty vendors, tattoo artists, car clubs, a charity raffle and even a blood drive. Any questions? Harley-Davidson becomes an official partner of AMD’s World Championship of Custom Bike Building and title sponsor of the Modified Harley-Davidson Class. It is a little bit surprising to some because Harley-Davidson has its own official Harley Bike Shows where it used to be that only motorcycles with a Harley title could compete. This rule was loosen a lot in the late 90’s at the time of the surge of the after-market industry, most top custom bikes being built with after-market frames…and engines. Industrial Espionage At MV Agusta? After Harley-Davidson bought MV Agusta in August 2008, Enrico D’Onofrio, ex CFO of Ducati was named Corporate General Director of the new MV Agusta. Now he is accused of industrial spying by his former employer. Enrico is under investigation for not less than violation of industrial secrets, illicit competition and aggravated theft. Italian Police searched his home and office looking for computer records. – Harley-Davidson was able to sell $500 million in loans and sell them to investors who got their capital to invest by borrowing Uncle Sam (TALF program). Tomorrow Sunday May 24, the 22nd annual motorcycle event called Rolling Thunder will honor all the Vets, POWs and MIA’s of all wars. You saw the parade on TV, while in Washington or even have been part of it. But you may not know about this rally’s history. Rolling Thunder began as a demonstration following the era of the Vietnam War, which was a difficult time in America’s history. Many of America’s military were killed or missing in action and their remains were not being brought home to be respectfully buried and honored. In 1988, Artie Muller and Ray Manzo, 2 veterans of the Vietnam War, rallied together their families, fellow veterans, and veterans’ advocates to organize a demonstration at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC during the Memorial Day weekend. First, if you wonder about the ‘Fleur-De-Lys” graphic, it’s the traditional symbol for the French throne. But this version used on the “Smet Helmets” is a design derived from the tattoo work of artist Don Ed Hardy. For all those who got a case of pinstripping overdose. Padding is removable, so you can easily clean it. These helmets are approved under the European legislation, much tougher than here in the US. For sale at Santiago Chopper tel: 813-671-9097.

So, here an address where you can find them in 2 versions, smooth and teardrop finned designs. They are available for 7/8” and 1” handlebars, the levers hooking up to standard controls cables running through the bars. Maund Speed Equipment.
