You know the benefits of exhaust wrap. 1- Improving performance by forcing heat to stay inside the pipes generating horsepower out the end. 2- Less risk of “pipe tattoos” on your legs by protecting the rider from burns. 3- Looks, racer and vintage.
Now, a company called TorchWear, a specialist of welding safety equipment introduces PipeWear, a one-piece protecting sleeve to fit above your bike pipes. It is constructed from the revolutionary CarbonX knit blend material that gets its soft feel and vibrant black color from heat reflecting carbon. PipeWear is able to withstand 2,500 degrees of heat (your bike head pipe reaches an average of 1,000 F, and more when stuck in traffic) and doesn’t contain asbestos like some exhaust wraps. Available in 2” diameter and custom lengths. For more infor and pricing, contact: Torch Wear (800) 479-7165 or 330-425-2738.

Because of their old times and warm feel, brass parts are available everywhere ready to give your bike the sought-after retro look. But none look as refined – or precious – as the ones offered by Italian designer Kustom Tech. These knurled grips are machined from billet brass with a satin finish, fit 1″ handlebars, and are available for internal throttle use. The pegs are built using brass forging with a universal connector allowing you to mount them on most applications, either as your forward or passenger pegs. If you want to order these parts, pray for the US dollar to gain back its fair exchange value against the euro… Kustom Tech Italy (in English).
Don’t know for sure where these mechanical engineering students got their inspiration, but I can guess and you too… They were 9 working on the project, had one semester to build something original and functioning to deserve to major in their specialty. Much more time and manpower than any builder completing a full blown hubless motorcycle. Hope they will care soon about the front wheel.
When you go to parties, people always ask what you do for a living. When you tell them “direct marketing” they will nod and you will know they are clueless. People don’t really know the difference between the various flavors of marketing & advertising. And book definitions don’t always help. So below is a more pragmatic way of explaining your line of work and its different specialties.
.
You’re at a party and see a beautiful woman. You walk up to her and say, “I’m great in bed.” That’s Direct Marketing. Continue reading ‘Joke Of The Week. How to explain What You Do For a living.’

You remember Perse Performance and its line of high end billet aluminum triple trees, front ends, controls and wheels. As a matter of fact I was distributing their parts. Then, a long 5 years silence… So, I was intrigued when I found out at the V-Twin Expo that a company called Rooster Custom Cycles was showing on their booth most of the original Perse parts. Explanation: Rooster Custom Cycles has acquired the intellectual property for the Perse Performance front-ends and aftermarket parts line. Rooster will manufacture and market existing Perse products, as well as add new products to the line, which will be known as Perse Performance by Rooster. Many existing Perse products are already available, the new ones being released over the next few months. Rooster Custom Cycles is currently accepting dealer applications. Perse Performance.
As I reported, David Uhl just released “Stella“, his latest painting belonging to the series “Women of Harley” But this time, for your viewing pleasure, David did something a little different. While he was painting he stopped every few minutes to take a picture of his progress. All of these images have been compiled to create a fast-frame look at the creation of “Stella”. This will be part of a longer DVD which will be sent free of charge to those who purchase “Stella”. The DVD will include interviews with David in which he discusses in details his entire “Women of Harley” collection. David Uhl Studios.
Don’t hear much about the Spanish Custom Motorcycle Scene.
Two weeks ago was the Iberian Bike Week with local builders competing in the AMD Spain Championship Of Bike Building to win a trip to the World Championship in Sturgis this coming August. Quite a few strange machines among the 60 registered competitors. The big winner, that you will see this Summer in South Dakota is Sergio Bayarri featured here with a somewhat Confederate looking machine with a lot of Ducati influence.
The bike weights only 204 kg (445 pounds) due to an all aluminum frame and carbon fiber body. With a 110″ RevTech engine and such a light weight this bike is said to have clocked at 264 km/h (164 mph) on a Spanish Moto GP track.
Among the weird bikes was this “Rat Bike” using an old SR/XT Yamaha Single cylinder engine and assembled from parts coming from everywhere, except from a catalog…(photography Horst Roesler)

Long time I didn’t introduce you to a new painter. Darren Williams originally from Boston moved to St Louis in 1990 where he started his career as an illustrator and a part time painter at his stepfather’s body shop. He started Liquid Illusions in 1999 and during these last 2 years has painted a lot of bikes for the custom builders of the “Limpnickie Collective” to which he belongs. It means that you can check out his work during Daytona Bike Week at the Stone Edge Park on Ridgewood Avenue, South Daytona. Liquid Illusions Art.

The sculpture will be done by a Roddy McMillan, a local sculptor .City officials will approve the project on Monday.

Because you just don’t get enough chances already to be arrested, this new gun-shaped grooming accessory will increase your probability to be harassed and eventually be arrested for a violation that only your police officer knows.
If he thinks that it’s a real gun he may even shoot you and front of a judge find a good justification for his action.
Your bad luck increases if you wear tattoos and comb while standing near your motorcycle And this gun-shaped comb could only come from the fertile imagination of our friends in China, a country wishing we get in more trouble. 25Togo Design Store.
Already down during these last years, the 2009 city of Myrtle Beach political maneuvers has lowered even more the Spring rally attendance. And in mid-February nobody knows for sure what’s going to happen for the 2010 edition. Originally a local Harley Dealers event, even Harley-Davidson Motor Company didn’t make a definitive commitment and is still pursuing negotiations with North Myrtle Beach. Matt Chun, digital publicist of the “American Chopper” series, just sent me an email to remind me you that the end has come for the TV show. Tonight, Paul Teutul Junior. gathers the family together (without Dad) and makes a life changing announcement (can you guess?) This Thursday evening February 11th on TLC at 9 pm EST / 8 pm Central (no tears, please.)
Why a biography where motorcycles are just in the background and are not the main topic of this book should be mentioned in my Blog? Because some life stories need to be told to as many as possible, and I am proud of helping spread the word about Katy Ishee blistering ride of unwed motherhood, familial alienation, bikers, drugs, and insane asylums.
She is a strong willed person who survived being coerced in giving away a child, who traveled several times coast to coast jumping all hurdles of life, suffered abuse in silence, screamed to be heard, never gave up on her dreams, still finding the strength to laugh and to give love to others.
