My very long experience with garage builders contacting my shop for help has teached me quite a bit about the mistakes that many of them are making when tinkering with their bikes.
A frequent one is ordering and/or assembling new fork tubes. And I am not talking in this post about ordering the incorrect tube length (another costly mistake), but 1- ordering bare tubes and then getting confused when hunting somewhere else for the correct internal parts 2- assembling the forks with the mismatched internal parts (from springs to clips and seals), or assembling the correct ones but in such a way that at the first spin around the block your bike front end is going to leak all its fluid suspension. Harley-Davidson To Move 2011 Trike Production In-House From Lehman Trikes

Lehman Trikes has been a strategic supplier for Harley trikes since 2008 and Harley-Davidson has advised them that they will be moving the trike assembly in-house to their York, Pennsylvania production facilities for the 2011 models. Lehman will no longer provide components, paint, and conversion services in the manufacture of the Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide® and Street Glide® trikes, effective with the end of production of Harley-Davidson’s 2010 models in Summer 2010. S&S Cycles Hot Rod 103″ Shovelhead Engine

Just look in any bike shows or on the street. New Shovelhead engines are extremely popular for looks and speed. The S&S SH 103″ engine is based on the 103″ Sidewinder kit for Shovelhead engines which has been proposed by S&S since 1976! It is only offered in 1970-84 alternator style and is delivered with the S&S Super Stock ignition system. Because of high compression ratio, an S&S Super G Carburetor and dual plugged heads come as standard equipment. Warning: this S&S 103″ is ,300″ taller than a stock Harley-Davidson Shovelhead. So, it means that it will not fit in a stock Harley frame, except if you modify it. But most aftermarket frames accept it since they were conceived for taller engines. More info at S&S Cycles.
