Twin sisters in a Newfoundland Nursing Home were turning one hundred years old. The editor of the local newspaper told a photographer to get over there and take pictures of the two 100 year old twins. One of the twins was hard of hearing and the other could hear quite well..
Once the photographer arrived he asked the sisters to sit on the sofa.
The deaf sister said to her twin, “WHAT DID HE SAY?” “WE GOTTA SIT OVER THERE ON THE SOFA!” said the other. “Now get a little closer together,” said the cameraman. Again, “WHAT DID HE SAY?” “HE SAYS, ‘SQUEEZE TOGETHER A LITTLE.'” So they wiggled up close to each other. “Just hold on for a bit longer, I’ve got to focus a little,” said the photographer. Yet again, “WHAT DID HE SAY?” “HE SAYS HE’S GONNA FOCUS! ”
With a big grin the deaf twin shouted out, “OH LARD JESUS! – BOTH OF US????”

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has requested comments on a proposed amendment to a safety standard on “lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment to allow the license plate mounting surface on motorcycles to be at an angle of up to 30 degrees beyond vertical” (on horizontal installed plates).
According to the agency, the change would bring the U.S. rule more in line with European regulations, increase design flexibility without compromising safety or increasing costs, and allow license plate recognition technology used by law enfor.cement organizations to continue reading license plate characters….

The Las Vegas based Hiro Koiso Racing team made a big comeback on the salts of Bonneville. It succeeded in getting 3 new land speed records to include 2 AMA national records – 3000-MPS-PBG class 210.646 mph (339.001 km/h)*, 3000-MPS-PBG class 214.342 mph (344.950 km/h)* and a FIM world record of 214.653mph (345.450 km/h)* in 3000cc partially streamlined class.
New world record is 22 mph above the existing record. Hiro also made a single (non-record) pass of 198.941mph(320.164km/h) without fairing. Total of 15 records for the team have been set at BUB trials since 2008.
Since the vehicle suffered massive fire damage during 2012 race, it took the team all year to rebuild the entire motorcycle back to racing state. The bike is a highly modified 2006 Harley-Davidson DYNA powered by JIMS135 TwinCam Race engine modified by T-Man Performance. ProCharger B-1 supercharger force feeds air to the engine resulted in 271 hp to the rear tire.

The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) in Orlando, FL October 16-20 has announced that Frank Fritz, one half of History’s popular television series “American Pickers” will be appearing at the inaugural event and hosting 2 exclusive presentation (October 18 & 19) and meet & greet sessions. Fritz will be discussing the value of and his love for collectible and vintage motorcycles, as well as showcasing a portion of his personal collection on October 18-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Fritz will discuss how he goes about picking vintage motorcycles and the vast range of bikes and other unique items he has encountered throughout his many years of exploring people’s barns and basements. Also on display at AIMExpo will be three of Fritz’ favorite motorcycles from his personal collection, all of which hold a story of their own.
“American Pickers” is currently in its fifth season on History and tells the story of Fritz and his partner Mike Wolfe as they travel the country searching for or “picking” valuable antiques and collectibles. Fans of the show will know that Fritz has a deep love for vintage motorcycles, some of which he keeps for his own personal collection. Permit Denied For 2 Million Bikers Ride Through Washington DC To Commemorate 9/11. Washington DC has denied a permit for a no-stop ride through Washington DC on Wednesday September 11. Organizers state that bikers want to ride “to remember those who were killed on 911 and honor our armed forces who fought those who precipitated this attack.” They also declare that the ride “is to counter protest to the planned Million Muslim March on DC’ also SET FOR this September 11.
The submitted ride route was supposed to take participants to the Viet Nam Memorial, then to the Lincoln Memorial, across the bridge into Virginia, and that’s it. A ride lasting less than 2 hours after which Washington DC would have been back to normal. BUT organizers state that “They don’t need stinking permit, have constitutional rights and that bikers should ride on Wednesday morning.” I really doubt that the Washington DC is going to arrest all bikers, whatever their number, 2 million or much
Organizers decided to change their itinarary and issued the following statement. “You are true, blue Patriots and we salute you for your participation in this event! Many of you have taken time off of work to be here. You have freely given of your time, your funds, and your bikes to ride shoulder to shoulder in this event. You have left your families and your jobs to be here. Those of us who ride come from different clubs, chapters, and organizations. Some of us ride with family and friends and some ride alone. But on September 11th, we ride as one! We ride to pay tribute and offer respect to those that lost their lives on that day 12 years ago, and to salute our troops engaged in the War on Terror. Riders!…we are the best of the best in America!! Our love for these people and this country is staggering, and we will make a display of Patriotism and of solidarity America won’t soon forget”
Harley-Davidson Opens Its 10th Dealership In India. Tiger Harley-Davidson in Indore, central India is the company’s tenth dealership in the country. Harley-Davidson assembles 9 out of its 12 models available in India (out of 20 models worldwide) and plans to launch more models in India based on the response. Even Erik Buell is working on them and with 6 others, filed for a patent regarding a motorcycle with hybrid power system. With minimum camouflage, the upcoming Harley-Davidson 500 cc to be built in India and to be 1st marketed in this same country, is accumulating road test miles. There is a consensus among all big motorcycle manufacturers that they need to offer smaller capacity models at more affordable prices to be able to penetrate emerging markets and compete with local manufacturers. In addition, after an explosive growth during the last decade, there is an economic slow down in almost all these emerging countries where motorcycle sales have been sharply down during the last 4 quarters. From these spy picture, we already know that the 500 cc Harley will feature a V-Twin engine.

On September 12, the speed warriors of the racing world will convene at the Bonneville Salt Flats for Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout, the annual assault on land-speed world records. The Top 1 Oil Ack Attack streamliner, currently the world’s fastest motorcycle with a top one-way speed of 394.084 MPH and a world record speed of 376.4 MPH, will be revved up to defend its title.
Top 1 Oil Ack Attack team – -pilot Rocky Robinson and owner-designer Mike Akatiff – are currently prepping to break the 400 MPH mark against three competitors, the Bub 7 and the Triumph Rocket. Attempts will be made from September 12 to 16, 2013. If weather conditions are not favorable on the Salt Flats the race will be rescheduled in October. The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) reports that according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) using ethanol blends of 15% ethanol in any vehicle that is not a passenger vehicle will be in direct violation of Federal law. The EPA has issued a list of possible plans to mitigate mis-fueling issues with the recently approved E-15 ethanol blends. Prior to E-15, the highest blend allowed for mass consumption was E-10. The MRF has been informing the EPA that the higher blend will be forced upon motorcyclists because of the remaining fuel in the hose from the previous customer. The EPA then said that a 4 four-gallon minimum purchase would be required by everyone. That was rolled back and an EPA document specifically mentions the work of the motorcycle rights organizations in the overturn of the mandatory minimum. Continue reading ‘Feds to Motorcyclists. A recent article in the Kentucky Post reported that a woman, Anne Maynard, sued St Luke’s hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery there, he lost all interest in sex.
A hospital spokesman replied …
“Mr. Maynard was admitted in Ophthalmology. All we did was to correct his eyesight.”
